There were a few bad reviews that made it up on the S@H product reviews that I know of, for the Detective's Office modular set. There was even a 'response' from them about it posted. I haven't looked in a while at any reviews, I too don't think they are valid.

So how many of you have the cash to buy one of these when they are available? Just curious. I don't think I could justify the cost... bummer because I would love to have one. I don't even have a place to put it if I did get one... -
Well, to me, cancelled means not going to get it. I wonder why it wouldn't say back-ordered, which is what I have seen on my own orders that had something that was out of stock, and shipped separately when it was finally available. I would call and ask for clarification.

I agree, only the really small inexpensive sets are in the flimsy boxes. I was saving them but stopped. I do keep all the big boxes, which do have a tab to close them. I have to flatten them though, due to space limitations here. I agree that putting the parts in the original bags after building the set would be difficult at best, and a bit ridiculous... I would never try doing that. When I decide to dismantle a set, and put it back in the box, I just pour the parts into a couple zip bags I got from BrickLink orders. I think I have about 2 pounds of bags of various sizes from my many orders. The crinkly plastic bags you get in a set are pretty fragile, get a nick in it and it will tear open easily. I don't see them changing the kind of plastic they use for the bags... are they cellophane bags? Not sure.

Nice job, I like the vine covered wall too, with the trellis showing at the top. Does it open up?

Hello, I was wondering if there were any members of the SF Bay Area LUG on Eurobricks? I just decided to join it and wanted to get some opinions of it, if anyone is already a member. I am in the SF East Bay, and far as I can tell, all the meetings and events are on the other side of the bay or near east bay. Would love to hear from anyone in it..Thanks!

Special Lego VIP Shopping Event 2015
talos replied to mediumsnowman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I got one last year, but nothing yet this year. I too have spent a lot less this year than last. So I figure I won't be invited. It was decidedly underwhelming for me last year. Going by what people were saying it was like in previous years, but they had cut way back on it last year.. I wouldn't expect this year to be any better than last. -
I have been away from Lego for a couple months, and now have been back and looking at the current and upcoming December Lego Store calendars. I can't recall seeing more sparseness ever, since being back into Lego. There is virtually nothing going on, or any enticing offers shown on the November or December calendars. I think the only thing was the gingerbread house! Wow. A free calendar doesn't do much for me.... Prices rise and there is less to offer to get more purchases from me. Maybe that's a good thing, haha $$ ?

I like the set, its nice. I like the colors and some of the interior detailing. I do feel, it needs a 3rd level, and be wider, but that would push it beyond the modular standard size. I plan on getting one, but will BL parts to add an extra floor to the bank building, not buy a second whole set.

I found a link, didn't see anything else posted on EB yet. Its in Italian, but has thumbnail images of sets that will be available in 2016. I saw a couple interesting ones, like a Creator grocery store (31050) which has a color scheme very similar to the DO modular. And a Winter Toy Store (10249) which didn't have an image. Looks like new fire station and police station for the City line too. Here is the link: link removed

I have done mine using the tan color for the sand green. I never got around to swapping the tan band for light bley, like I originally intended..I think it looks fine as it is for now.

The timing for this short 2x points offer won't work for me either, I will be away. There really isn't anything I want right now anyway. I think a lot of people are feeling this way... Lego better not be laying in their laurels thinking people will continue to buying just anything. I am being much more discretionary these days, as prices keep on rising.

I went down to my local Lego store to buy the new Halloween seasonal set, and they had the 2015 Advent Calendar sets on the shelves already. I picked up 2 for gifts later this year...just a heads up if you are interested in getting them. BTW, the Halloween set was already cleared out on the shelf, I got them to bring me out one from the back room though...get them while they're hot! LOL

The point when you have enough Lego?
talos replied to PaddyBricksplitter's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I know I have too much already, by the fact I have probably lost count of how many unopened sets I have stacked up in my Lego room. I always seem to need just a few more parts to some idea I want to build... Seems always to be in $20 BrickLink increments! :-) -
Once it's shipped it depends on how far it has to go too. For me, free shipping takes a week, pretty consistently if fedex is the shipper, MS to CA, by truck.

I made a short video, using my iPad, not the best method, but all I have at the moment. I got my Emerald Night moc along with a few passenger carriages rolling past the station. I built each car based on the original EN car, using different colour schemes. I think they look pretty good! :-) Here is a link to the video on Flickr: https://www.flickr.c...57656210758770/

I never thought of using those parts to make trees, I might try it. I, and I think most places call those parts 'rigid hoses,' since they are tubes, not cables. I didn't know what you were talking about till I looked at the video. You can buy a lot of different sizes and then cut them to the desired lengths too.

Geez, looking at the conversion to US $ from UK £, everything seems to have about a $20 premium. I think I will just get something small and leave it at that...wow, I didn't realize how big of difference most other countries pay more than compared to here in the US... kind of sucks...

Oh yay, now I can do that 1960's green bathroom I had thought about...haha... I wasn't back to get the original, so I probably will purchase. It does point to corner cutting at the same time try to appease all the fans that thought the line was ending at that Santa's Workshop lump... :-)

Nice, an outdoor Railway Museum display.

Good grief, did they not know the box was up, I would think it would lock out the drive if the box was not down and locked in place if traveling over a low speed...crazy! -
Has your pet(s) ever caused damage to your collection?
talos replied to legosamsonite's topic in General LEGO Discussion
My biggest problem is cat hair getting onto everything, my cat sheds a lot and I have to vacuum every day to keep up...it gets into everything! Never had any problems chewing on things, I keep the Lego off the floor and he is trained not to jump onto anything other than his chair, and one table to look out the window... -
Thanks for the tips and directions. I will be within walking distance of there, from my hotel, so figured will just sightsee on over there.
