^Brickshelf. I can't log in, until they send me an email with a link...I can only do search and basic browsing without an activated account...

^thanks for the insight, I figure I can just wait and see if they send me the link to finish the account setup. I agree, shopping around for best price is worth it, and the easier it is to do that, the better.

Thanks for the tip, I joined their blog page, and the list of criteria is quite long, to be considered for inclusion. I did a lot of what they suggest, I build an album on Flickr, which is one of their main sources for new ideas. They pretty much force you to have a facebook or twitter page, which I didn't have active. So, I resurrected mine, so I can post on their page...that just gets shuffled to a text only side bar though...LOL I posted about it on some of my main BrickLink suppliers pages as well...

I was wondering if very many use or look at Brickshelf? I was trying to create an account there, and it was kind of frustrating. It seems a bit stuck in the 90's. Trying to make a strong password, was pretty much useless, since nearly all the special characters were not allowed. I set up an account, and was told to wait for an email to validate it, but still haven't received anything. I am wondering if it was automated or not, and I am actually waiting for someone to manually approve me, and send the message. Do you regularly go to that site? I wonder if its worth the bother to try and use it.

I rarely even bother to look at BaP or PaB anymore... 9 times out of 10, what I want is not available, and its always the key parts to build something...it is frustrating, and usually a waste of my time. I figured it probably was that way for a lot of others too.

Nothing has changed for my PC setup, I am only on my home Mac which is hard wired to a cable modem, using the most recent browsers..my spam filter isn't intercepting anything Lego related. I don't get any emails what so ever, but then again I have opted out of anything but official emails. I checked my address that they have, and its correct, nothing has changed on my end. It used to work as advertised, so I am still at a loss as to why I don't get the messages...

It just became order-able here, and I got my order in, S@H site actually was working well considering how bad its been on big release days in the past. I am looking forward to building it too. -
1 August, lot of new sets available. I got my order through with no problems, and it already shows up on the order status page, as 'in warehouse,' which is great to see. I still, again didn't get any email confirmation! Weird, if some people do, and others don't. I wonder what causes that.

Thanks to all the supporters!! Its trickling off though. Any suggestions for where to get some more exposure? I tried to post it on brickset forum, but that is pretty much dead space...its such a poorly formatted forum site, Eurobricks is so much better!

Tower of Orthanc is 'sold out' now in USA, the Lord of the Rings theme gone too, with it. Now there is Scooby Doo, wheee! LOL

Thanks for all the great support, its added a lot to the total supporting. I really appreciate it. I wasn't sure to post in the Town section or Train, but felt Train was more appropriate. Being added to the frontpage, really helped a lot for exposure. I sincerely appreciate it all. We train fans need to stick together! Its hard to gain a lot when most people seem to dismiss it before even looking it over. I know there is some dissension about how this would work as a bona fide modular, but I think it could be integrated into a modular town setup. In every town, far as I know, there are those stand alone buildings. They are just as valid in a modular setup as the linked together buildings. It just requires a little more space, and maybe the Lego Group doesn't want to address that, but I think it is doable... I also know there are weak spots in the design, and I know that they can be ironed out. I also know there are people that won't support something because it doesn't fit 100% into their ideas, but I hope that there are more people that can be flexible and support it as it is, and hope it will be tweaked to fit better if approved... I do hope so! That is my philosophy on what I support or not... Thanks so much to all you train fans!

I have had the full spectrum. From ordering to in hand in 3 days, to weeks and weeks. You need to keep your favorites list, note which sellers are reliable, and utilize the 'Least Favorite' list for the really bad ones. I run into the most delays and mistakes from the smaller sellers, with not as many orders under their belt. There is usually a reason! I have been needing a lot of older and rarer parts and those sellers seem to take a lot longer, dealing in used parts exclusively. There is no real way to know though, except to read the feedback and look at the numbers... There will be times when only one or two sellers have what you need, and you just have to bite the bullet and hope they come through, reasonably.

^thats good, you got something highlighted, I have supported several of your projects. I guess I shouldn't of made a comment. I just was thinking that a random project scroll that was computer selected would be better, always changing, highlighting new as well as older projects, that mostly get lost once they fall down the chronological list. If you don't choose tags well, you don't get much exposure after a month or so, only someone searching for some specific theme would be finding a particular project.

Well I was interpreting it as a broad cross section of all that is submitted, not just a particular person's personal taste in projects... I can see your point of view as well..

How does everyone feel about the 'staff picks' part of the front page of the Ideas site? I always have to laugh at what ends up there, not that unique or interesting usually. Far as I can tell, always very small projects. I wonder why they have that, its really biased to whom ever they are's tastes or interests..not an even cross section of what is submitted...

Thanks! I was really trying to keep it a reasonable proposition. Its really a hugely uphill battle for it, the subgroup of trains, just doesn't have the size to push it very fast. I am happy with what its achieved so far though, its up to 334 supporters, as of this morning.

Thanks for the compliments, I appreciate it! I also think the dark orange/tan colour combination is really nice, complimentary colours. I have now built a fleet of 3 taxis to add to the scene, I wanted to photograph it with them, but really slow BrickLink sellers held me up till I didn't want to wait any longer. I plan to add an update to the Ideas project page with them in a photo.

Still, I don't get any confirmation emails...or shipped emails... Its all up to me to keep going back to check.... At least the supply of the AAA battery box seems to have caught up to demand. I was able to order one and its shipped without any delays... Yay!

Kind of like oxidation, I have had it happen, and rubbing and flexing the rubber will clean it off...its been sitting too long untouched...

Thanks to all that made comments, I appreciate it. I agree, it is an uphill battle to get support for anything train related on Ideas. Once the project gets older, it falls farther down the list, and the vast majority stop seeing it. You have to rely on the tags to find it. I did get a large portion of the dark orange from a spare Town Hall set..and also a lot of BrickLink orders to fill the gaps. It is one of the pricier colors. Sort of becoming rarer too, to find anyone selling more than a few bits and pieces. The interior gold fence parts came from some Eves sets...that part is one of the more useful parts from that theme.

I dreamed up a train station that I have been developing over the last couple months. I wanted to share it here, I hope you like it. Its gotten nearly 300 supporters so far on Lego Ideas. I hope if you like it, you could throw some support at it there. I show it with a couple passenger cars based on the Emerald Night train set, for scale. The platform roof is at just the right height. Its designed to stand alone, with attachment slopes along the platform to attach along regular track sections. There are lots of details from seating to a paper vending machine (I borrowed the idea from the Detective's Office set, though changed the colour scheme). Inside, on the ground floor is a lounge/pub area, and a ticket office and waiting area. Upstairs, on the 1st floor, is a cafe, with a cafeteria style setup to order, select food and pay, then go sit at tables. Its done in yellow and white, like some cafes I know of. There is a ladder that leads up 2 more levels into the tower, at the top of which is a 4 sided clock. The colours I used are dark orange with tan, windows in black, and some dark bluish gray accents around the cornices, and the roof of the tower. The platform roof is dark green. I am only attaching a few of the photos here, but there are more on the Ideas project page, if you are interested in more detail. Cheers https://ideas.lego.com/projects/107984 This last photo shows how its modular sections come apart in 5 sections.

I saw it popped up as coming 1st Aug. too... there is a whole slew of sets that have been out for a while in every other market than N. America... and just debuting now in August here. I bet its a supply metering tactic they are doing..or measuring the popularity of sets before releasing them in the USA..

Every change has its learning curve, I'll find out next time I need to order something. I wish they would update their forums, geez, it's so archaic, a bulletin board! It's painful.
