  1. I agree, the current ones are under 3000 pcs. The Town Hall is largest at 2766 pcs. My Ideas modular is 2012 pcs. Also I think anything larger than a baseplate of 32 x 32 studs is not happening either.
  2. The box must of been shook up an awful lot to make that happen. I always sigh when I get to a step that involves applying a sticker...
  3. I'm positive that is what must of happened, I'm glad it worked itself out. Cell phone texts are prone to it also.
  4. My new message got through, and the seller issued me a refund for the mistake, even though I told them it was OK. So thanks to them. Glad the problem was cleared up.
  5. If you bought something, your receipt should have a web address to take the satisfaction survey. You can comment on your likes/dislikes. Usually the salesperson writes their name on the receipt too, so you can mention them if you want. Every time I have submitted the survey, I have gotten an email back thanking me from that store's manager.
  6. Hahaha, let him keep them at your house. :-)
  7. I just checked, and the message I sent seems to have vanished. There is nothing for it in my sent items...I know I sent it and it acknowledged it. Now there is no record of it... Has that ever happened to anyone else? I know things can get lost.... I will try again, though a lot of time has past now.
  8. Haha, I too was thinking about Poirot's apartment block as a basis for a set. I didn't post anything because I thought the building was too large, but maybe a scaled down version, not as many floors. I love the Florin Court/Whitehaven Mansions building. ;-) I thought a cinema in Art Deco/Moderne style would be nice too.
  9. To my favorite accent colors, I've usually used light bluish gray, but am seeing new appeal in combining those darker colors with white or tan now. You can get some striking combinations of colors. My problem is having enough parts in any particular color. I'm building a MOC using a lot of white brick, and running out. It's been challenging to find BrickLink sellers that have a big enough inventory. Even the bley color is becoming harder to find at a reasonable price (to me!) I spend a lot of time trying to find parts I can use at a reasonable price and in numbers I need from a single seller.
  10. The color names mismatches are my biggest peeve with LDD. There are several part number issues too, like a part having a number and a letter, but it doesn't show that in LDD. Generating a BOM in LDD is the best way to get the part numbers for use in BL.
  11. I need to update my list after today...ahem.. ;-) 2x FB, 2x PS, 2x GE, 2x TH, 2x PR, 1x PC. Is it me, or is the PC the least loved? I don't see myself getting a 2nd one, for now. Only if I get an idea that needs the tan bricks. Maybe the false front Hollywood type cinema is the problem? I would of liked it much better if it was Art Deco, perhaps... BTW, I was perusing BrickLink the other day and found a seller that had 20 Parisian Restaurants, and was asking $199 for each...really!
  12. Really great job, I like it a lot too. I see many of the parts and the car came out of the City Garage set. I might be interested in doing something similar with mine some day. I love the colors, very crisp and realistic like a Shell station would have.
  13. Hi, thanks for the compliments. I am still fiddling with it, adding a few things, changing a few others...I was going to post one more image soon. I also want to build it too. Once I am happy with it, I can make it available.
  14. Yet to arrive, but supposed to deliver today, Halloween Bat, the Friends and City Advent Calendar sets, and Pet Shop. 2 are for gifts, 2 are for me. :-)
  15. 'Did I just order that?'

  16. I would just replace all the black with new..
  17. I have to agree with you too. I am being a bit more choosy about what sets I want, comparing size/brick content along with the theme and other factors. I wanted to get all the Arctic sets, but decided not to. A lot of the City sets I feel the same way.
  18. Venting..venting... ;-) I stumbled across another BL seller I regret. I ordered some brick from them, and the order arrives, a few days later than the other orders I placed that day. Everything is the right parts, and numbers, except one item is the wrong color. It was listed as light bluish gray, but what I got was dark bluish gray. I double checked to see if I made a mistake, but the invoice was for what I wanted, and they didn't have the color I got listed. So I figure it was a cataloging error on their part. The mistake was less than $2 (50 pieces), and I wanted to let them know about the error. I emailed and have not gotten any reply. I find that frustrating, and am withholding any feedback for now. Maybe they are just not checking messages..who knows. I wonder why they are even on there as a seller if they are not conscientious enough to keep up their store. Another one for the 'don't use again pile.'
  19. I am just using accordion folders, with a flap. I had them on hand and the instruction booklets fit. I am up to 3 almost full already though. I don't want to buy anything special to keep them, they are protected and organized.
  20. I would like to know. All I have ever seen about who did what set, is from the videos (YouTube or Lego sites) that has a designer showing the features of a set. I am assuming that they are the ones who did the design. Some of the videos are good, shows the thoughts behind some of the features or techniques they used.
  21. Nice job, I like the colors used. I am leaning towards dark colored windows too, after always using white. Maybe expand on the cornice, to make a little more detail across the whole width would be great. Some detail on the roof I agree would be good, a hatch or skylights.
  22. Lots of great looking photos, I envy you all having the space for such large displays! I too, just don't have the room. I would love to have more trees too.
  23. Thanks for the suggested improvements, I redid the top of the upper level, making it look more together. I moved up the bathroom window above the entrance one plate higher. Subtle changes, but I think it does look better. To answer the question about what app I am using, it is LDD, which is a lot of fun to use, after getting the hang of it.
  24. Palace Cinema could use that treatment too. I've always wondered why there was no clear glass for that window frame, just the diamond grill piece.
  25. Thanks to all for the comments! I am going to try and get it together soon.
