Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
DuckBricks replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
To my knowledge the episodes fall Friday night/Saturday morning every week, as there’s no evidence to suggest otherwise - so 79 comes next week and 80 the week after.- 4,591 replies

Ninjago wish list: Most wanted minifigures
DuckBricks replied to Dr.Cogg's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
The fact that we need only three Elemental Masters left (Gravis, Chamille, Jacob Pevsner) to complete the collection can't be overstated, but I trust Lego will release them along the line, as they seem to have been. There wasn't a need for Digiverse Golden Ninja before Kai's golden garbs were released, but now there's a noticeable gap in display lineups so I guess we need them too. Another thing that I'm hopeful we will get down the line is an updated Kendo Nya; we got Lloyd from the videogame, Zane from next month's upcoming promo, Cole and Jay from Legoland Pods, and Kai from the CMF series. Although Kendo Lloyd is a bit disappointing as he's the only one without a custom-colored Kendo mask... Other figures that are less likely but I'd also love to get are Nya in her Kabuki outfit and casual outfit (from Rebooted, ToE, and parts of Possession), an actual Cyrus Borg (the wheelchair piece is already set to go for that), Mystake (although that's a bit more likely given her prominence in the latest episode), "Dangerbuff" Cole, and Young Wu and Garmadon (although Wu is simple enough to make yourself and doesn't require new molds or even prints). Venturing into the realm of most likely never going to happen without a TV series CMF (which is highly unlikely), I'd like The Mechanic, Pink Zane, Human Morro, Dr. Julien, the Commissioner, Lou, Dr. Sander Saunders (I NEED that mustache), and probably a few more I'm missing. Back in 2015, there was a cancelled Ninjago figure GWP; I wonder if that was an Elemental Master or Young Morro... -
I was a similar spot to you a few months back, but was able to almost complete the collection with great Black Friday sales. Only missing The Goonies and Supergirl now. I guess I’ll have to resort to BrickLink for SG as I don’t own nor plan on owning a PS4, and I guess I’ll grab the Goonies when it’s on sale.

Enjoyed Episode 77, although the humor felt off in a few places and it tended to drag out smaller moments, unlike previous fast-paced episodes. Harumi didn’t have much to do this episode, and I’m hoping she doesn’t fade into the background as the ninja go out and fight the SoG. Looking forward to the next episode though - Zane as a ruthless undercover agent is quite the exciting premise!- 4,591 replies

Are we sure the price is $300? Yeesh, that’s awful for what we get. I mean, it’s a solid build, just not anything worth over $150 or so. I was expecting them to at least include a large Mech hangar building, which was by the docks, but no, all we get is this. I hope it’s very, very preliminary or the price is different.

LEGO Nexo Knights 2018
DuckBricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Usually themes like this have a planned 3 year run, so I’m not too surprised. What may have been a result of the decreased profits is potentially the show getting cancelled, unless they pull a Chima and throw all of Year 3 into two episodes.- 1,601 replies

Regarding the Weekend Whip intro - Tommy Andreasen mentioned the more somber/dark intro will make sense by episode 5, where a fun pop song wouldn’t fit the dark story. I’m hoping the payoff to this will be sweet...- 4,591 replies

LEGO Nexo Knights 2018
DuckBricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Man, all I hope is that we at least get a conclusion to the story, or some sort of ending to the TV series. Even Bionicle, which was cancelled prematurely, got that.- 1,601 replies

I haven’t seen any photos leak yet that weren’t supposed to be released - the three Jurassic World sets were part of the press release, which is why photos were made available (and the official images followed shortly). None of the sets that were supposed to be kept under wraps were seen, like the Pirate RollerCoaster, Architecture, or City Arctic sets. I suspect it may be a while longer until we get photos unfortunately, unless Lego decides to do a press release for the set specifically.

Several different builds? Yikes. I hope this means that there's a bunch of boats to dock to the main structure and less Assault on Hoth with a bunch of smaller, random structures.

Apparently, according to Tommy Andreasen, the gray skin is just a random design quirk from Lego and they are both human, just with body paint.

Yeah, that's the issue with copying the movie expressions, which really matched the movie characters but don't much match the TV show characters. This was an issue for the TV show in the past, though, with Jay always scowling until more recent waves and Kai with his scar, so I guess it's an improvement.

I'm guessing that Dragon Master's eyes are placeholders; at least I'm certainly hoping it isn't Kai, as making him some sort of prophesied "Chosen One" after more or less ignoring him and giving him no character development over the past several seasons would be... unfortunate.

Really? I saw a clear eye print on Kai’s dragon in the recent catalogue images, so perhaps we are looking at two different things...

Of course, modifying sets is half the fun, but it would be nice to get a head with creative and unique building techniques from the getgo, like with the Master Wu Dragon, Green NRG Dragon, etc. Upon closer inspection Kai’s Firstbourne Dragon seems to have a similar print, which is unfortunate.

Agreed. Here’s hoping it will change, as it’s nowhere near as impressive as some other heads in the past. When the Skybound sets first leaked, I recall Jay’s Dragon head was pretty different from the final product (it used Hero Factory jumper heads as nostrils, for example), but the presence of eye graphics already lead me to believe that it won’t change that much. Hope it looks better from other angles...

Rewatched the episode and there were some odd quirks about the humor that I feel could have been toned down a tad - sure, the monks breaking their vows once got a little chuckle, but then it happened again and again and again - same for Kai insisting he found a secret passage and pulling out books. It got a laugh once, then it just kept going on - I feel like the humor needs a little work. It was otherwise a solid episode, though, and I’m looking forward to next week!- 4,591 replies

Just saw the episode and liked it. While I’m pretty sure we’ve all seen the first half already, the presence of new music in the chase scene from the comic con preview was really great. The second half, without going too much into spoilers, really intrigued me - the mystery behind Hutchin’s true agenda is pretty interesting, and I agree that the rundown of the ninja’s personalities was necessary for new viewers, but weaved in organically. At least it got a chuckle out of me when they did the whole Nya being the girl bit. Looking forward to the next episode!- 4,591 replies

LEGO DC Villains (Videogame)
DuckBricks replied to LEGODalekbuster523's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
One thing I'm curious about is the presence of Lego Batman Movie villains - the Rogues gallery was really fleshed out for that film, so I'm curious whether the designs will be used for this game or they'll choose to keep those separate from regular DC Superheroes. -
That and the emperor and empress can be added to our ever-growing list of important characters we still need in figure form, it seems

The leaked list is looking great; glad we get a mix of revamps of old characters and totally new characters that we’ve never seen before (and wouldn’t be likely to appear in a set, such as James and Lily and the Dursleys)

Interesting! Thanks for posting. Harumi sounds a lot better than she did in the original trailer, and that shot of her and Lloyd by the docks was really nice. What really intrigued me, though, is the Sensei-Wu-esque storytelling flashback sequence that shows a figure vanishing into smoke, to the surprise of a dragon and a clawed man. The “First Realm” was mentioned here - looks like they’re laying down the plot for season ten, which is really exciting!- 4,591 replies
