  1. Washington, but I’d assume it’s a common issue. If they were disorganized enough not to announce anything officially at all, even the day it started, then I’m not surprised only some employees had any clue what was going on.
  2. Just some experience from what happened today: I went to the store at around when they opened and the employee I spoke to denied any knowledge of Bricktober at all - he seemed to have no clue and told me to check back on the 8th. I later called them and they still told me that Bricktober isn't starting until the 8th worldwide. Then, I saw several posts about how the first pack was available today, so I went back about a minute before they closed and was given the set of figures - apparently they had a box full of them the whole day and I had arrived just in time to grab the last one. Clearly, mileage will vary even depending on what employee you talk to in the same store. I'd still go midway through the day and see if there's any available to give, which there should be. Good luck!
  3. Thanks for the responses - I called back and spoke with somebody and they had zero knowledge of Bricktober at all, but I saw the post on The Brick Fan and your responses and figured it would be worth a shot. Picked up the very last one in the box a minute before closing time. Thanks again!
  4. Turns out Bricktober starts next weekend on the 8th, according to the TRU employee I asked today... Edit - Thanks to everyone who commented - I went back and asked a different person and got it. (Seems rather disorganized if you ask me, but hey, I'm happy).
  5. I’m more surprised (and a tad annoyed) with the inclusion of Digiverse Kai, as now there’s a large gap in my display wall where only one figure will go for now, unless we get more of these that I’m welcome to have but nobody really asked for. I’d have preferred something like Kabuki Nya or another of the missing Elemental Masters to this and young Krux, but I’m happy the TV show is getting any love in terms of exclusive figures.
  6. The combat is much more fun - you have to diversify your moves so certain enemies won’t learn to block, some enemies have shields you have to break past or rip away, and some flying enemies require special moves to hit them. There’s a combat meter that, when fills up, allows you to release special moves unlocked with the combat tree, like the “Skyward Dragon.”
  7. Just finished the movie; it definitely doesn't warrant a 53% (or whatever it's at now at Rotten Tomatoes), but I'd rate it around 6-7/10. Very Mild Spoilers (How many lines people got, some cut scenes from early trailers): More spoilery stuff:
  8. From seeing the movie, most notable vehicles and locations appear to be already covered by sets, although there's enough stuff missing to definitely warrant an all-but inevitable third wave. Spoilers below for vehicles that were featured in the movie but weren't sets, but they don't really spoil any plot or whatnot.
  9. It might be better (if possible) to find easily identifiable "clumps" of sets (i.e. a TIE Fighter wing, etc) and sell the part lots separately - I personally think you may have more success selling individual lots for varying sets. For example, I have a few holes in my UCS collection and would be willing to grab certain incomplete sets, but am not interested in a lot of a bunch of stuff I already have. That being said, it depends on how damaged they are - if they're broken down to the point where you can't tell which general parts go where, then selling as a large lot may be easier. I'm sorry to hear about your home! I have relatives in Houston who were similarly affected, so I understand how much damage occurred. Good luck and hope you get back on your feet!
  10. Yeah, that's Tommy Andreasen, the guy who comes up with the concept art and story beats for Ninjago and Nexo Knights - it's really cool he's been sharing development work with the public; I always find that fascinating.
  11. With Harry Potter all but confirmed, I'm guessing at least one out of the Basilisk, Buckbeak, Phoenix, or Nagini. Although, as per the rules of this guessing thread, do these fantasy creatures not count? Otherwise, I'd also guess maybe a Hungarian Horntail or other dragon
  12. That's what I thought when I saw it, but assumed it was unused prototypes for 2017 as they already treaded the "Clay is evil" path this year, but I guess they could do it again... Edit: looking at it again, there does seem to be some neon green in that photo, so it could be for 2018... hmmm I'll take a clearer photo when I get back home.
  13. I pre-ordered it off of amazon around when it was announced and it arrived a day before release, but it should be available in standard bookstores.
  14. Sure thing! I'm hoping that down the road, maybe at the end of 2018 if Nexo Knights ends, we'll get a section on the website like the amazing "Making Chima" web story we got for the Chima subpage, showcasing all this art in HD glory. Here's pretty much every single photo that was in the behind-the-scenes section. All of the concepts look really interesting, and there are even glimpses of set prototypes (which fascinate me to no end) and perhaps a glimpse of some of next year's sets in the blurry background, judging by the black and trans neon green outlines. And finally, Yes, Exo Knights. Oh Exo Force, you'll be missed.
  15. The new Character Encyclopedia gives some hints for 2018 (seems pretty much the same as the Life Magazine) Additionally, there's a neat behind the scenes section with a look at some concept art, some of which may be similar to what we're getting in 2018:
  16. Binged the series as well - I did really enjoy it, and despite some odd moments in pacing, it was quite entertaining for the most part. I really like how eight episodes allowed for a greatly expanded lore and the Goblin King was given more of a sympathetic backstory and motivation. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it! The animation style is great and the visuals are spectacular. I only wish there was new, fresh music composed as well - don't get me wrong, the standard theme was great, but hearing it over and over again got a bit old.
  17. Huh, you're right! What an odd choice, and now I'll have to modify my ninja go display to fit in the lone golden Kai. I really hope we get the rest, as having just one is pretty odd. But I'm so happy we're finally getting Neuro - four to go!
  18. The leakers who put out these rumors have had a pretty much 100% accuracy in the past; I'm so hyped
  19. Yeah, I was surprised those weren't being discussed until I remembered the Falcon was revealed today
  20. It's from the Making of the Movie book, which shows behind the scenes look at production of movie and sets. Cole's Mech looks great, as expected. Volcano base is honestly a tad underwhelming, but I'll wait to see the main front angle before I make a decision, as building sets never look that good from the back.
  21. Now that you mention it, did any of the 1HY Ninjago sets ever have retailer exclusives? HoT didn't, Skybound didn't, ToE didn't as far as I can recall (was the arena set with Karloff and Turner exclusive?) and Final Battle didn't. Do 1HY Ninjago sets ever get retailer exclusives?
  22. The new MF looks great! Part of me is a bit disappointed that it wasn't revealed with great fanfare just next week though. Lego's done such a good job with keeping images under wraps and they were so close to the finish line. Ah well - the set looks great anyways. Surprised to see the rigging again, but I guess it works.
  23. Huh. I really hope that these make it to the US, especially since the blind bags didn't make it here for series 2. I recall the Skybound sets for Ninjago, which were released in March of 2016, were still in the general retailer's catalogue, so unless these are coming out much later, like a summer wave for June only, I'm not sure what's going to happen. I'll say I'll be really disappointed if it never reaches the US, but obviously one leaker not seeing them is no reason to discount the theme. I'll wait until I get confirmation.
  24. Huh, you're right. It did have Sensei Garmadon, though, so perhaps no Ninjago line is incomplete without a Sensei. My bets are on the baby..
  25. Set and Figure List: 70638 Katana VII (Kai, Villain) 70639 Street Race of the Snake Jaguar (Zane, Main Villain) 70640 Sons of Garmadon Headquarters (Lloyd (diff outfit), 2 Villains) 70641 Ninja Nightcrawler (Lloyd, Nya, Villain) 70642 Klaw (?) vs Samurai X (Jay, Samurai X, Klaw (?) bigfig) 70643 Temple of Resurrection (Lloyd, Cole, Baby (Sensei Wu? As no line is complete without him), 2 villains, female villain, main villain) edit: started typing this a while ago and got ninja'd (ironically).
