  1. Just got around to watching Brent Miller’s (the voice actor for Zane) interview with Tommy Andreasen, and according to him, there are “very significant” things in store for Ninjago and it has a very bright future (with a major comic con announcement to come). Whether this means a reboot, spinoff, or something entirely different I don’t know, but that’s at least some news about the future. https://youtu.be/WX_AoQE2Rbc
  2. Already see a lot of torso variety from the Dragon Hunters even from 2 seconds of screen time at the end of the episode - I wish there were more than 2-3 torsos (and really just one main one) to go around, although if new prints were sacrificed in favor of new molds I guess that’s an ok compromise.
  3. Watched it a few times now and love the dynamic of Nya and Lloyd as well as more character moments for the original four ninja, although Jay got a tad bit grating by the end (he’s always wobbled across the fine line of funny and annoying, and his characterization here was a bit over the top but I get that’s how his character would respond to such a scenario so I guess that’s ok). I do wish they saved Lloyd and co’s discovery their friends may be alive until much later or even until they returned, but I do understand you can’t have really depressed heroes all season long so I get it. Here’s hoping more elemental masters show up besides the four that did, but their entrance was awesome. A surprising highlight here was Dareth, who was actually really funny. (Also, what happened to Shade? He went from moody and standoffish in ToE to “hello, gorgeous” seemingly overnight)
  4. Cool! I’m excited to see it in that case. edit: it’s out! https://youtu.be/5tlyNFiHsPA
  5. I for some reason had the date June 20 in my head but I guess that was false info as it’s been several days and we haven’t seen it... but in Australia it’s already the 30th so I guess not today...
  6. There will be an extra special GWP to go with the July 4 announcement/reveal of the car, but to my knowledge that’s the extent of the sets for now.
  7. Ohhhh, that makes a lot of sense.
  8. Based on the reaction in this thread (many people who don’t normally collect CMFs want the full set), I’m sure these will sell like gangbusters and we’ll get at least a second series, quite possibly even more down the line.
  9. If there are any DK books coming out that’s a possibility too for a book exclusive; I’ve seen a lot of those for other themes leak early as well.
  10. It might be the lighting, but I think it uses the same skin tone Lego uses for most other Asian characters (I.e. the Star Wars ones), although there are some variations in this.
  11. Looking more closely, im actually a bit disappointed “older” Harry doesn’t get a newly molded hairpiece and instead reuses the old element used in the Dimensions pack, which doesn’t seem to fit him very well. Given the young version has excellent hair (that I think would honestly fit his older self), I kinda wish we got either a new part or a reuse of the new mold for older Harry, not just the old style. I do love the fact that the invisibility cloak seems to have the classic stars pattern from the 2001 sets printed on the inside, which is a neat touch.
  12. I thought it was just me but yes, those definitely look like poseable short legs! Why some of the figures have them and others don’t is beyond me, but my best guess is that the normal short legs represent years 1-2 and the medium short legs represent 3-4, with normal legs past that? The only thing I’m not quite feeling is the new mold for Dobby - I honestly like the old one much better and feel there’s something a bit off with this one - maybe the forehead or the eyes are a bit too big?
  13. The Lego House in Billund has a display declaring Ninjago as Evergreen (and features sets up to the movie meaning it’s been updated past 2015), but I don’t know if the relatively lukewarm reception the movie got changed anything.
  14. Animals always veered into the uncanny valley on Ninjago but they seem have perfected it with these dragons - very pleased with how they look.
  15. I’m guessing he means the helmet, but I tried it and it doesn’t really fit at all sadly...
  16. I’d also recommend Jay Vincent and Michael Kramer’s score for Ninjago; there are so many memorable and beautiful tracks such as What Powered Zane, Opening the Cursed Realm, Nya’s True Potential, The Fusion Dragon, etc. Here’s some links to their channels: Jay Vincent: https://www.youtube.com/user/SevenWheelSound Michael Kramer: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCi-19Evt3grcnzE_K_uBddA
  17. Sewer Babies Battle Pack or we riot Overall, I’m loving the tone of the movie and it looks like we’re gonna get some great sets out of this.
  18. It was a Super Battle Droid and a large AT-RT to scale with a buildable figure. I think Lego has done this in the past with cancelled Chima Speedorz as well, so I can believe those sets were canned, sadly.
  19. There were also two Star Wars contraction sets that were in the prelims but since the line is all but dead, those appear to have been shelved as well.
  20. Huh, ok - aren’t they more expensive at Legoland though?
  21. Not OP but I’m guessing he’s from the US and is just going to Legoland - I’m visiting Billund in a couple of weeks and I also plan to grab some of the season 9 sets because they aren’t available yet in the US and prices are not extraordinarily higher than what they would cost in the US.
  22. I’m assuming this isn’t in the US despite you saying dollars? (If they are in the US, please let me know where you found them!) Picked up all the flyers today mostly for the figures, but I will admit the launchers themselves are fun (despite not flying nearly as impressively as the Airjitsu ones did). I was surprised by the number of new molds - a two parter for the wing mount (why this is a two parter is unclear, unless they plan to mount other things in the future) and an extra long Airjitsu holder (to accommodate the wings). The handle build is a lot heftier than I would have thought and the $5 price increase is definitely justified.
  23. You’re right, although that was a special case where they only had the budget for a Halloween Special (for some reason) which is why some of the sets were from Skybound. I’m thinking that’s only a special case and not the norm.
  24. I doubt there will be any more Season 9 sets as the only time they actually produced a second wave of sets for one story arc was for the Movie, which is to be expected. The only way I see us getting new sets around this theme is if the storyline continues into Season 10, which is actually relatively likely, in which case we would get season 10 sets but of models/dragons potentially featured in Season 9, like the Oni Titan.
  25. Did you watch Day of the Departed? That’s where he got them, and he’s used them throughout Hands of Time and Sons of Garmadon. It still hasn’t been explained how exactly he has this power, unfortunately. Looks great, much better than the original one.
