  1. I'm not crazy about the arch on that door, but everything else is great. Thanks for working hard to get another entry in.
  2. I think we're down by 2 entries overall. 2 more in Bothawui will give us 5 points (I know Markus has one coming for that planet), OM should be safe, MC may need one or two builds to hold, and we need 3 more in Fondor and Felucia each. Can we get one more out of Wat, VK, Lucas, and Mstr? This would be a great time for Artizan and a few others to return, as well. Lobot? Nom?
  3. Thanks guys. I'd never heard of Forge World, but the images from a google search look pretty cool, like they could fit right into the Star Wars universe. I may look through those ships for inspiration in the future. I didn't really build anything to specifically attach a Tie because I was kind of tired of building this one and I really didn't want to scrounge together enough parts for a Tie. I had also considered building a fold-up Tie fighter to fit in the hangar, but again, got too lazy. Mr. Blonde, actually. Although Mr. White is a cool sounding name.
  4. I've been wanting to do a fairly large ship for Goatm for a while but I didn't quite have enough bricks to do a SHIP. This, however, is 40 studs long and definitely inspired by some of the great builds I've been seeing in progress on Flickr. Everything is to minifig scale. There is a large hangar, small cabin with bunks just up the ramp, and an elevator leading to the flight deck. This is a very simple ship because it is only used for quick missions to steal tech, assassinate targets, or disable capital ships. Once fired from an ISD, this ship latches onto another ship, tears open the hull, and unloads the boarding party. A large turret is mounted on the back of the ship to fend off enemy fighters once attached. Tie fighters can also be attached to the hull for deployment and cover on long distance missions. Goatm's flight crew is protected by heavy armor plating and a low profile atop the ship. Here, the boarding crew ready themselves in the hangar. Goatm has collected a rag-tag group of heavy hitting pilots to do a smash and grab on some Rebel starfighters and destroy the capital ship behind them. The mech is an experiment using a rapidly aging clone. Below is how the hull can be removed for loading larger starfighters. The gunner has to have great abs for this job. Bonus pic and main reason I designed the hangar the way I did. Does anybody get the reference? Don't worry, Goatm doesn't get shot at the end of this one and that Rebel doesn't have any ears to cut off. [soNE VI Freebuild] 6-4 - Ram, stuck in the middle by goatman461, on Flickr I would like for this freebuild to be judged, but no rush, I don't need the points for Episode VI. C & C greatly appreciated.
  5. If you're itching to get your build posted, why not just post it w/o figures and add them when you can? Everything is a WIP until the deadline and adding figures won't be enough of an improvement to disqualify your entry. You've got a week though, no need to rush.
  6. I like your structure and satellite but I think the black stands out too much. Something earth-toned or at least dark grey would have looked better against the tan, IMO.
  7. Great details and I really like the equipment in the shop. The floor is cool but I don't think it belongs in this build. I think there should be more of a pattern in the floor to make it look realistic for the space, like little traffic paths or distinct sections of different types of dirt/metal/whatever. You've kind of go this around the left and right corners, but I don't understand why the grey is mixed in with the brown so much, looks too much like camouflage.
  8. Thank you. And that is the right part. It also comes on a Prince of Persia fig. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=973pb539c01
  9. Great job on the FX droid and capturing the Mon Calamari/Home One feel.
  10. I would look to 75055 for ideas. It may seem inappropriately small for an ISB, but I think it is a really good looking build. I got the 75055 and plan to redo the interior, but I am very happy with the outside.
  11. My 3rd SoNE Ep. 6 Freebuild... For every hard working, upstanding imperial officer there is another ambitious, soulless, arrogant brass sucker playing the political games and making their way to the top. ISB Agent Goatm An 46-1 has no problem with certain ambition. Striving to be the best, to win victories for the Empire, to command a great army as you see fit, these are good ambitions. But the weasels who step on their colleagues to rise to the top, who send countless troopers into suicide missions for their own glory, who sacrifice their mission for political gain, these men must be destroyed. They rot the Empire from the inside, infect the chain of command with their incompetence, and hand victory over to our enemies. This is why Agent An does what he does. His military career has meant the death of many of the worst individual that the Empire's power so readily attracts. Below, an Royal Guard found An's justice. Imperial engineering does not recognize many safety features and Goatm has taken advantage of this fact many times over. [soNE Freebuild] 6-3 Push 1 by goatman461, on Flickr [soNE Freebuild] 6-3 Push 2 by goatman461, on Flickr [soNE Freebuild] 6-3 Push 3 by goatman461, on Flickr After the guard fell to his death, Goatm noticed a strange laugh coming from the elevator behind him. He knew that the Emperor had not seen him throw the guard over the railing as he passed, so why the laugh? Maybe it was time to visit the Outer Rim and make sure that this incident blew over in the meantime. For more hilarious antics of Goatm, check out Watto's Junkyard, specifically the Episode VI builds. Please judge this build. C & C is very much appreciated.
  12. So this was a (too) subtle story arc that I was going for with BEAVeR and I's collaboration. (*If anybody gets what Goatm is doing before reading this please let me know) Sorry for being so convoluted.
  13. Real Texas summer rain. Thought it'd look cool. Glad you like it.
  14. While Officer VeR checked out a factory owner with ties to Fett, Goatm decided to pick a fight with some union boys. These particular fellas did black market installation and maintenance of weapons for private ships (particularly ion cannons, tractor beams, proton torpedoes, and concussion missiles). [soNE Ep VI] Fondor 1 by goatman461, on FlickrThe hardest part about picking a fight is convincing the other side that they have a chance to win. Because this district is a blaster free zone, Goatm knew that these boys wouldn't be expecting a shoot out and would try to win by shear force. Too bad for them. A blaster is what they really need now. [soNE Ep VI] Fondor 2 by goatman461, on FlickrSoon after two of the workers are dead and the other four are slowly bleeding out, Goatm gets a call from Officer VeR. And off to Ord Mantell they go. (to be continued...)
  15. If you have a Felucia build post it ASAP. I believe the Rebels are tied with us at 7 after posting three this afternoon.
  16. Best Felucia yet. This is really amazing and beautiful
  17. *New entry for this planet. The old one is still on flickr if anybody want's to see it.
  18. Great use of space. And I like the underground concept, great minds think alike
  19. Officer VeR and Agent An now search their fifth planet for the elusive bounty hunter, Boba Fett. The journey started with a simple task on Mon Calamari; expanding to a fruitless search on Fondor; the discovery of a murder-for-hire on Ord Mantell; leading to an arms dealer on Bothawui; and now a bunch of hapless grunts trudging through the dangerous jungles of Felucia. The arms dealer on Bothawui couldn't stop running his mouth about where Fett might be after he witness Goatm unload his newfound autoblaster on an entire room of Imperial spies. (The status of this garrison as spies was hotly debated, though the final report did agree with Goatm’s assessment). Felucia was the best bet the dealer had and apparently we were late for the party. The planet seems to be swarmed with Imperials and Rebels in search of Fett. After getting word that Gen. Pppts was ordering scans of all the nearby sarlacc pits, Goatm quickly excused himself and hopped on a nearby speeder. He had to make sure that the Imperial forces didn’t scan one particular pit just north of a favorite refueling station of his. Goatm had used this particular pit in the past to dump the bodies and he didn't want his pet projects to be found. [soNE Ep VI] Felucia 5 by goatman461, on Flickr Luckily, Goatm arrives on the scene just in time to excuse the squad assign to this pit. [soNE Ep VI] Felucia 1 by goatman461, on Flickr
  20. «Goatm, come in. Goatm, where are you? There are two Bothans up here and you forgot to close the hatch. What am I supposed to do?» “Kill them…” «What?!? I can’t do that; they could just be civilians. What’s going on down there anyway? I felt the ground shake a couple of times.» “That’s a little complicated and I’m a bit busy. But I’ll give you the quick rundown. You need to be ready anyway because the poodoo is really about to hit the fan.” «Dear God, what have you gotten us into this time?» “It’s not my fault, promise… “… as soon as I was through the hatch a Rebel scout drew on me. I had to kill him, but did it quietly. “As he was bleeding out, I noticed the blood ran to a hidden compartment, which led me to a room below. After taking out the sentry gun I had a look around. “This must be the headquarters of a pretty serious arms dealer because this place is pretty well stocked.” «Wow, good thing we found it. Now we can destroy all those weapons.» “What? We’ll see, either way I’ll bring you something nice. Anyway, we’re not done, yet. There was another level below the weapons room. “Our arms dealer friend is down her pluggin’ a new arm into some dude. I haven’t decided if I’m going to kill them yet. I do like arms dealers. Ha, ha, that made him nervous..." «Don’t shoot him. We need to see if he knows where Fett is.» “Oh, right. I was having so much fun I almost forgot. What about the armless guy?” «Why would you shoot a harmless guy?» “No… I said Armless.” «Harmless?» “ARMLESS!” «Harmless?» “Never mind. Either way, we’ve got bigger problems. There’s still another level below this room. And I’m guessing by the flashing light I’m seeing through the cracks that they know we’re here. I can hear a bunch of movement down there, too.” «Just grab the dealer and get back up here. We’ve got what we came for.» “I’m not climbing out of here with a bunch of blasters behind me.” «We don’t need any of those blasters we’ve got plenty in the ship. Just grab the dealer.» “No, I mean I’m not leaving enemies with blasters… Never mind. I’ll make this quick. You should see the bruiser I grab from the weapons room. This thing is going to be messy. Did you kill those Bothans yet?” «Damn it Goatm. No, I didn’t kill them. I’m going to go warm up the shuttle. I’m guessing we’re going to have to get out of here quick.» To be concluded...
  21. Here's my final entry and edited pics of my previous entries. This contest has been grueling and my entries weren't at half the scale of Markus's. I hope y'all like my builds regardless of how the votes turn out. This was my first shot at steampunk but it certainly won't be my last. Head over here to vote in the final round. 22. During their investigation of Fett's possible involvement in the recycling plant murders, Goatm notices a familiar look in his colleague's eyes. Officer VeR has started staring off in the distance again and Goatm knew it was only a matter of time before he started muttering to himself about war. The janitor did not look like the type interested in the philosophical discussion so Goatm decides to continue their conversation elsewhere. “... Still, you can have no objection for my colleague taking a closer look here. I would like to have a word with you in the meantime." Goatm and the janitor make their way back to the plant's entrance. "I don't want to keep you from your work, where were you headed when we ran into you?" "No work here anymore, at least for the time being. I was headed to my shop back home; you’re welcome to join me if you have more questions.” “That’d be great. I’m sorry to hear you lost your job. Any prospects for something new?” The janitor laughs. “Don’t worry; I’m not without a job. Very few people on Ord Mantell are ever without work to do. We’ve got a lot of service jobs available around the tourist hubs and plenty of scrap to sort through for the entrepreneurial types.” “It must be harder though without the steady work the recycling plant brought. And your boss seemed to be an alright guy, setting up shop in the area as he did.” “With all due respect officer, that man was a fool. This whole planet is a recycling plant. Do you think that we’re disregarding anything of value out here? There’s an entire industry of individuals picking through this ‘junk’ and putting it to good use in our shops. This planet is a working man’s paradise. No shortage of materials, no limit on what we can create, and no government leaching off our efforts.” The janitor’s words take Goatm back to his time mining asteroids in the Outer Rim. There was a certain freedom out there that many “civilized” folks can’t understand. Was there government? No. Were there rules? You bet your greasy tauntaun there were rules. Unspoken rules. Take a man’s equipment, you die. Welch on a bet, you die. Act a fool in port, you die. Those rules had real consequences (for all but the craftiest, but even Goatm knew when not push his luck). Places like these have governments of individuals, consciences of communities, and laws based on thousands of years of hard fought customs. “I think I know what you mean about the economy here, but if your boss’s plant was so unnecessary, why’d somebody want him dead?” “Since when do terrorist need a reason for blowing something up?” “Well, deranged as they are, they usually have some attenuated connection between their cause and the targets they choose. Let’s say it wasn't the Rebels; who else wanted your boss dead and why kill his family, too?” The janitor carefully considers Goatm’s question as they move onto the street outside the factory. “Bossman was an off-worlder, had plants and manufacturing interests all over. Maybe he made enemies there. I do know that the killers weren't from around here. I suppose it could be a tourist, but they don’t usually stray far from the casinos.” “Why not a local? I know this place is pretty violent.” “Yeah, it can be violent here, but it’s usually for a reason. Those that just go around killing for fun usually get shot in the back sooner or later. Nobody wants to live around scum like that. But give a man a reason to kill you and you won’t live long. Very efficient justice system here.” “Couldn't somebody find a reason for killing your boss?” “Not enough to kill him the way they did. I’ll admit that the bossman had it coming, but not like that.” “How so?” “The man didn’t understand what it meant to live on Ord Mantell. He came here wanting to make a difference, to save us from our despair, give us jobs, government, police, taxes, ‘safety.’ He didn’t understand that we didn’t want his help, that we didn’t need to live the way he did, that we could be happy the way we were. Heck, the fool wouldn’t even carry a blaster. He was either suicidal or so arrogant that he thought it was everybody else's job to protect him. But this attitude of his would only get him killed if he mouthed off to the wrong guy or walked down the wrong alley, which he didn't do. No, this definitely wasn't local.” Goatm considers the janitor’s assessment as they turn down an alley to the janitor’s home. He has a small hut next to a scrap pile. His wife is inside putting their child to bed. “Up ahead of you is real wealth, officer. A good roof on top of four sturdy walls, a relatively safe part of town, and a thriving business on the side. No taxman in my pocket and no policeman’s boot on my neck. I hope you can find your way back to the factory. It’s getting dark now and these streets can be tricky.” “I’m well aware. Don’t worry; I can be pretty tricky myself. Know where a guy can get disintegrators around here?” “Sure, the back entrance to a Hutt supplier is close by. There’s been a lot of activity there lately. Be careful.” “Will do. Thank you for your time. You've been a lot of help.” Goatm leaves the janitor and makes his way to a familiar franchise. This’ll be his first visit in uniform so he’ll have to be prudent; not a trait Goatm likes to entertain. Crooked Imperial officers are nothing new to the Hutts, but dropping in unannounced in uniform is frowned upon. Up ahead, Goatm sees the guard and the entrance … [soNE VI] Ord Mantell - 3 by goatman461, on Flickr but he is interrupted by a transmission from Officer VeR. “Agent An, report back to the recycling plant. The datapad used in the murder is from a supplier on Bothawui. I’m going to leave a contingent here in case Fett is still around but I’d like us to go check out this supplier to see if Fett has returned.” Goatm turns around. “On my way.” “Where are you anyway?” ... to be continued
  23. Nice to see some of the (older?) Rebels back in the game. And it appears we've got a coordinated attack on Fondor.
  24. Cool contest. I think you're right that the color scheme hurt you. At least you had a lot of company in "last" place. There were several entries with only 1 vote. Content-wise, This duel would not be my pick although it is more original. Maybe using Yoda (flipping through the air) instead of Anakin would have been more appealing to voters. I really like how many small details are in this, like the barrels, cable and those tan pipes(?) along the edge. Great greebling on the top and base, too.
  25. Thank you everybody that voted. In light of that, C & C on the Vulture Droid would be especially appreciated. I agree that the photography and editing needs to improve. Part of that was being stuck with a solid week without clouds in Texas and having to move those shots inside. I think, and I'm sure BEAVeR said this, that the propulsion system for this build also needed to be more apparent or more industrial. Please let me know what you think. Don't worry about being too harsh; I'm a big boy.
