I feel like I could stomach both the price tag and the difference in gauge/size if the set had been rendered properly in dark red… Anyone with a guesstimate on the new steam driver size? From the pictures, it looks like it’d be equivalent to xxL [insert number here] size drivers?

The box says batteries included… but its probably just light bricks…

it seems to be more or less to be the same imho. You get reduced friction by way of the decoupled axles, but add it right back because the axles are now plastic. The material used for the newer train wheels feels like the same thats used for the rollercoaster sets’ wheel&axle combo.

I’m pretty sure the leak said it was red not dark red…?

@Feuer Zug I feel like the pins are present to show you that they had to remove the other three segments from the stack *just* for you...

Until the dcc option is available, would it make sense to use a larger plastic section for isolation along with the trains’ own momentum to cross over?- 199 replies

It was never supposed to have the 9v rails; the metal rails were simply a substitute for the plastic since at the time I rendered these initial images, Stud.io did not have the files for the plastic rails. I thought we already cleared this hurdle…? Also, when has an iDEAS set ever translated 1:1 from the initial concept into the set on the shelf?

It looks marbleous! -
Right? No mention of dk Red for the color scheme… not really worth the price of admission tbh. Its really starting to sound like just an upscaled version of the previous Olton Hall? TLG should’ve nixed the Kings’ Cross platform and made a 2nd coach with more memorable “on the train” movie scenes. Even the (re)inclusion of Weasleys’ flying car would have been better than the platform imho.

Almost time for the new releases…! Also, this video from Smyths popped up a few days ago:

Kinda looks like a ride-on locomotive

…But what about that new Hasbro collab that brings us a brick-built Transformers’ model? Could a TLG/Mattel crossover happen soon…?

Thats one way to pave over a tangent…

Why was the 45303 discontinued…? Maybe its getting a revamp…?

With the release of the new trains, does this mean there’s an updated (i.e. v1.2) version of the PuP hub included?
