  1. @Carefree_Dude I'm fairly certain that there's a TTTE mod for Train Sim World... just sayin'
  2. @Desvejk What about dupont style connectors...? I was thinking that for extension& alteration purposes, these might be easier than trying to reverse engineer/3D print bits that match Lego's official hardware...? My basic thought process was (sans illustration) this: PuP batt box --> PuP male connector--> ((desired cable length)) --> female Dupont connector 1x6 --> male Dupont connector 1x6 --> ((desired cable length)) --> PuP lights/motors/etc Does this make sense?
  3. @legotownlinz The switch blade has a sort of half-pin connection to the switch base. As long as you ease it out gently, you should be able to pop it out without damage. I’ve done this about 3 times— albeit not on the same switch — and all now function as specified.
  4. @legotownlinz You have to take the blade off (this can be done with a brick separator) and readjust the rubber band underneath, such that both sides of that band are equally stressed. Hope this description helps?
  5. @azrudy From personal experience, it is much less of a headache to use only tiles under diagonal straight sections. There are attachment points that do exist at certain intervals, but not many are well documented (to my knowledge). The best place I can suggest to look is in the MILS flickr group.
  6. Looks awesome!!!
  7. @MTM Why not build one off of Jose’s reference photos? The only tricky part is that midsection imho.
  8. Shameless self-promotion: https://flic.kr/p/23WUNMU I had a similar train of thought as @mark6399, but my rendition is more Metroliner in Cargo Railway’s black & yellow.
  9. I'd say the quality is pretty good! In my personal experience, they aren't hardy enough for use on MILS modules at shows or exhibitions-- the end connectors are fairly fragile and thus prone to breaking. I specifically was using R56 curves, and from what I've seen so far this may be problem only with lower radii curves (56,72, maybe 88?). The straight segments are mostly awesome, but the clutch may vary due to the nature of 3D printing. . . . At the very least, I'll save the metal from my broken R56s for some... nefarious purposes...
  10. Educate those newbies!!
  11. I think the most important question relates to specific liveries: Which technique is the most cost-effective by livery?
  12. Is it just me, or do the spheres look a bit like hand grenades?
  13. Whew This thread should be renamed "the salt mine", so we can see how far down it goes...... But, I gotta say, I do agree with @Tube Map Central 's notion that Trains' on the whole gets regularly snubbed. Also, its interesting to see the naysayers to that sentiment constantly tell the rest of us to just be content with the occasional bone that TLG decides to throw this way.
  14. @SteamSewnEmpire I think it might be a blind M driver under that 3x3 radar dish? I did something similar for a BR 64 moc.
  15. @michaelgale Can I trade in my household furniture in for more of those S32 tracks...? @legotownlinz Great layout! Have you considered an outdoor layout...?
  16. @Black Knight But isn’t bluebrix partnered with one (or more?) of those chinese clone brands...? Or are you saying they produce their bricks right there in Germany...? 🤔
  17. @SteamSewnEmpire Agreed— the movie is about as cringe-y in places as the whole TTTE reboot... When it comes to scale(s), I’m all over the place... I’ve got some 9/10 wide trains, some 7/8 wide trains, and am currently trying to make some competent 5/6 wide trains (on 4wide track) It’s a madhouse
  18. I wish I could be so narrowly... focused. What’s your secret?
  19. @koraldon It’s more about which hemisphere you’re in... not that both sellers aren’t international, but moreso for which one you’d pay less for in terms of shipping. Personally, I’d vouch for BrickTracks! I’m currently modifying a loop of their R56 curves to power 12V trains.
  20. @Brickwolf Thanks!
  21. @Brickwolf Is there a better view of this example in Germany? It looks like it might be the short tender version?
  22. @Daiman (imho) You should start a new thread to document your rendition, but also leave a link in that one to this one.
  23. @zephyr1934 Oh yeah... that motor has a veryyyy small footprint!! It looks to be about 2x4x2? I think the only misstep in this design is that the connection point is on the broad side of the brick, versus the top side (best imho) or back side (traditional). I hope they will put the motors up for sale individually, but for now 40 usd for 2x motors isn’t terrible...
  24. One of the last train sets to use the metal axles... This might mean we could see a newer wave sooner than the current 4-5 year period...?
