Another awesome build man! Very unique ship and once again, superb photography. I like the SNOT decking and sides. I think though that if the prow was extended some this would give the ship a more elegant look. Someone's probably going to comment on the wheel too. Otherwise, a very neat ship! You have a pic of the stern you'd want to share?

Ok, got all mine up now too! Warlords Phase I Warlords Phase II Warlords Phase III

Hello again! Here is my third build for the Warlords of Nocturnus challenge! A little about this MOC, I originally intended this to be a large battle scene but after some consideration I thought it looked much better with an empty, desolate vibe to it. With this build I really wanted to depict how I envisaged the Nocturnus landscape, and dozens of guys battling it out kinda took away from that. In any case, time and ambition really got the better of me on this one. I added the two towers (greatly inspired by Derfel Cadarn's) when I realized I didn't have the time to build the mountain and caves I had originally planned. I'll be the first to admit, it's not the most exciting scene (my wife, who has a way with words, said it's boring) but I just hope you guys at least note a Nocty vibe to this MOC! Ok, enough explaining, here's the MOC! Although Anfauglir has powerful forces in his disposal, he is not above going it alone to explore and survey the uncharted Darklands. He is commonly seen leaving his fortress on horseback - with only his sword and some supplies - to seek out powerful artifacts and allies. This day Anfauglir is searching one of the long forgotten passes that dot the Rakarth Mountains. Two ruined towers, decrepit and ancient, guard the pass as a testament to better times for Nocturnus. Where the pass leads Anfauglir does not know, but he is desperate to find new power for his armies. Rumors have reached Senurhem's Crater of a possible fracture in the Black Spire leadership, and no one knows how much further Nocturnus will descend into the ongoing turmoil... ruins8 by MassEditor, on Flickr (please don't mind the technic bricks, I have plans to add to this scene at some point ) Hope you enjoy!

What a stunning and complex build, man this is just epic! Everything complements itself so well, from that incredible castle to the detailed landscaping. I've seen you use that rockwork technique in your other builds, and here you've really mastered it. In fact, this looks like it just about defies gravity. The path in particular is masterfully done. Torgar, Z, my head is starting to hurt from the number of times my mind's been blown this week. I've had a blast reading the stories and gazing over the MOCs in this collab - and I have no doubt that I've chosen the right guild!

Ch II: Team Simon: Cat B: Fortifying Avalonia
MassEditor replied to Infernum's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice build Infernum. The house is very striking, especially that roof, very nice job! The palisade works really well as the impromptu fortifications popping up around Avalonia. Overall this build shows great building composition and skill. Very impressed! -
Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion
MassEditor replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
The discussion here says other guilds can participate, but just not be eligible for the "Legendary Warlord" title. I'm hoping to have my third warlords done by the saturday deadline, and then a nice little break. Slaving away on Legos until the early morning hours is starting to make me feel old! -
Awesome build Kabel and fun story! The color scheme is really nice.

Warlords of Nocturnus: Lord Vladivus: Part 2
MassEditor replied to Lord Vladivus's topic in Guilds of Historica
Cool build and story! The posing and action shots are awesome. I love the market scene and its tranquility, despite the fight going on right next door. Good job! Hilarious nod to Wizard of Oz too! -

Awesome build! The ship is nicely detailed and really cool looking. The scenes and stories are very fun too! -
Great composition and wonderful story again dude. Honestly I've had no real enticement to purchase aftermarket bricks until now - those trees are awesome! I've learned how difficult it is to make interesting Nocturnus landscapes. My third Warlords build is focused more on landscaping than the others, and it's definitely been a challenge to craft such a dark landscape.

Wow, truly incredible Z. This must have taken a tremendous amount of work, and it really shows it. The swamp in particular is very eye catching. As said before the castle itself is stunning (I love the brick-built dragon emblem). The story too is quite engrossing - you are really crafting something awesome here in both builds and tension. Now, I have to ask, just behind the portcullis in the keep area I see something brown just poking up. Perhaps a siege engine or maybe even a surviving dragon?

Wow Hammerhand, this ship is really coming along! The fo'c'sle in particular is very striking. You are doing a fantastic job with this, can't wait to see it done!

I love LUGBulk, I mean that thing we are not supposed to talk about. But why make it more difficult this year, Lego? -
Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Like besides the fact that this website is about Legos, which were invented in Europe? I believe the spirit behind these forums is based more upon a universal love for the system rather than a further chance to separate ourselves among international boundaries. Besides, Amerobricks.com sounds kinda lame, you must admit. In any case I'm glad to be a part of the best guild here, and one with such huge variety for building inspiration. Though I must say, I wish Z and Torgar would stop being such a tease with the story and MOCs! -
Thanks Emma! I appreciate the stern pic, it looks awesome - like an evil tower on the seas. Great angle too, makes her look exceedingly swift!

The Spider's Chamber- Collab Prelude Part II
MassEditor replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
Awesome Z, enthralling story and sweet build! The reverse black widow is nicely done. -
Very sinister ship Emma, wickedly done. Some fine details really sell it, like the jagged but organic look as well as the custom rigging and sails. The quarterdeck in particular has a very menacing build. Any possible way we could see a shot of the stern?
-
Cool tower! Some neat techniques here - it took me a minute to realize those were droid heads. Great stuff!

Oh my, I've been gawking at this all morning on Flickr... Gabe, once again you've shown your mastery at these Byzantine-style ships. The prow and stern gallery (not sure what it's really called on a dromon) are absolutely gorgeous. And the mostly brick built hull is very well done. I love the greek-fire type weapon - I was wondering when someone would incorporate one of these into a GNAR build. Having it fire through the dragon's mouth is awesome, like the old Korean turtle ships. The Kaliphlin waterways must be the safest in all of Historica with these elegant warships!

Nice boat nstickey! That's a cool "Spock" you got there too! As far as the mast easily falling apart goes, have you tried running a rod or long technic axle through the brown 2x2 round bricks that make up the mast? I've had the same trouble in another build before and that made a world of difference.

Hey LV, you get your Phase II Warlords build to fit alright? I read reasonable overhang is cool, so surely if you're not stretching the limit too far no one will even notice.
