  1. My 8 year old is all about the DCSG line now. She's got all of the 4" (?) figs, and has just started on the 12". She'll be thrilled for these.
  2. Brickset still has 40204 listed as a Halloween Witch. Clearly that isn't the case anymore, lol.
  3. A good source for important DC stories would be DC Comics: A Visual History. It goes through DC's history, year by year, and almost month by month, discussing the important storylines in DC's history. (It's had enough of an affect on me that I'd love to do a podcast using this book as a primary reference source). Bottom line, that book, besides being a good read, would be a great source of reference for the important characters and storylines for DC, whether it's the last 30 years or last 75+.
  4. Yes! Exactly what I was thinking. I'd love to have an outdoor rink type setup. Perfect for a Winter Village scene. Two teams playing a scrimmage on ice.
  5. I agree. I feel that way for all of the "big" US sports. I don't need licensed teams. I'd rather just get generic players.
  6. My own thought is that, while the originals were popular, and went up in price as they disappeared, the numerous remakes of the same type of sets have driven the values down. Why buy the vet clinic from two years ago, when you can get a brand new design today? Friends collectors are not really Star Wars collectors. SW seems to be able to handle different remakes because the designs (for the most part) improve every few years. Or the minifigures change or get new designs. Friends is really centered on the five girls, and that's it. I get that they are a lot of other characters, but I couldn't name anyone other than the five characters (and my kids love to watch the Friends of Heartlake City cartoons).
  7. Actually, no. I'm the one that posted it on Brickpicker. That was after it appeared here. I believe the original rumor started on 4chan, and then was posted here.
  8. The big news for me - new LEGO Store! Never been to a grand opening. Oh, and choo choo!
  9. Here is the press release from April 2015 Initial rollout of the product line was Fall 2015, with more coming in Spring 2016. Specifically as it relates to LEGO: Although the article mentions general dates (like Fall 2015 and Spring 2016) for certain parts of the merchandising line, it doesn't specifically mention a date for the LEGO products. Also, based on "experience and success engaging girls in creative construction play," it leads me to believe that they will be minidolls instead of minifigs. I could be wrong - that's just my interpretation, of one line of a press release.
  10. I've read elsewhere that the problem was with how they handled entry into the Sails area (where, for those of you that don't know, is where they are distributing the tickets and/or raffles). There were orderly lines, and some people had gotten there around 10 PM last night. But once they had opened up the Sails area, it became a free for all, with people running to the lines they wanted to go to. But, not only that, there's an area behind the Convention Center where people were milling about, and once the Sails area opened up, people from out there could also rush the Sails area. So, basically, there was a *ton* of line cutting as people that had just waited a few minutes just outside the Sails area, were able to get into the Sails area before people that had been waiting in those orderly lines. Hopefully there's some discussion at the Comic Con "Talk Back" panel this afternoon, and the problem gets addressed tomorrow. Otherwise, this problem is going to be there all weekend long.
  11. Well. I won't be sleeping tonight. And I guess I will need to pick up an extra of each of these and include them in my Halloween Town now.
  12. I checked on LEGO's site, and found this little tidbit: Brickipedia's write up is a bit more expansive. Just a quick grasping at straws...
  13. Ah, okay. I didn't read that. So, never mind! I was thinking we were getting a montage of Robin's during the movie, and that Michael Cera's Robin just hadn't been shown yet.
  14. I'm starting to be convinced that's Carrie Kelly Robin. Look at the "chest" of the minifig and compare it to other Robin's chests. That's a female chest, not a male chest. *snip*
  15. As a follow up to what I posted earlier today... I ended up using the hair that comes with Ann Lee, from the Monster Fighters sets. Excuse the potato quality, but here's what the final minifig looks like: The hair is close in color to my friend, and she'll probably have her hair up while she's hiking anyway. So, I'm happy with it. Thanks for the assist folks.
  16. That's a bummer. I found him to be really easy to find. It was the hat. I think I was reminded of smooshing LEGO Movie blind bags. It's big, round, and most importantly, pointy. I only picked up one of each figure (other than the figure I'm modding for my backpacking friend). I'll go back again soon and pick up a couple more Serenaders. I need to make a full Mariachi band!
  17. He mentioned in another thread he found them on Twitter. I'm not surprised that pics are out there tho....final set up was today, and Preview Night starts in about 45 minutes.
  18. If you scan them, though, you'll see that the TRU register gods have allowed them to go on sale, as of this past Monday. My TRU was skeptical, but I asked them to put in the SKU anyway and give it a try, after alerting them that despite the markings, the computer released them on Monday. They tried it and agreed they could start selling. Worst case, call a LEGO Store and ask them. They're selling them.
  19. Thanks for the ideas. That ponytail piece won't work. I tried the one that comes with Ice Cream Jo from the TLM Ice Cream Machine (it's a shorter ponytail), but that won't fit either. I may have to give the Spy's backpack a try, since that's a bit smaller. Little bummed, since I really like that big backpack, but that might just be how it has to be.
  20. I was able to grab a full set at TRU yesterday, after convincing them to scan it (despite the Sept 1 marking on the box), and showing them the Megathread on Reddit that mentions other TRUs selling them. They were cool with all of that. Question - I have a female friend going on a hiking trip in a couple of weeks. I wanted to send her off with a female version of the Hiker. Looking for suggestions on hair. Anything with a ponytail (which would be perfect for her), is too big to fit with the backpack. I've already subbed the head with the female boxer.
  21. Found a box in San Diego today. They were cool with me standing there and smooshing out a set. I feel pretty confident that I got a full set (haven't opened them yet). There are definitely some "tells" when smooshing.
  22. Awesome photo all around! I love the different iterations of Wonder Woman.
  23. I'm glad I'm not the only one asking this question. My daughter feels the same way. The initial announcement was pretty much made at Comic Con last year. I noticed that other than a couple web cartoons, there really wasn't anything else. Then, we got a Free Comic Book Day comic at the beginning of May. And just the last few weeks, dolls have made it onto the shelves at Toys R Us and Walmart. So I think the initial wave of product is just now starting to hit. I'm not sure why they made the announcement a year ago, and are just now bringing some product to market now. But, it's finally happening. If I had to venture a guess, I'd say that the LEGO line is going to be a 2017 release, probably in the Winter wave (which would make it at the start of 2017, thread appropriate).
  24. Major spoilers for SW Rebels Season 3: Hoping we get all of these.
