  1. Looks really neat Pdaitabird. I think you need to put the lxf e.g. at brickshelf and then just link to it.
  2. Welcome Maloof. I never see mills and tulips in Amersfoort but maybe I don't look well enough :) A good start the 10246 set! Hope you'll have a good time here!
  3. Jim was kind enough to ask for it in Billund at the recent event. Although Holland is not that big he still lives not too close so I will need to be patient for the set to arrive somewhere next week probably. He is also doing a review on the other train. I'm not sure if I can do the same job as our always thorough test that Philippe did in the past (http://www.philohome.com/pf/pf.htm) but I will sure try. If the motor is not glued I might even open it up.
  4. Hope you didn't just join for promoting your YouTube channel OB1. Try to have decent conversations here and if you then refer to your review that would be a whole lot different but don't make that the sole purpose for you being here. Contests / actions should also be discussed with staff before you post them!
  5. It looks very nice! Great locomotive, I only don't like the real version (their looks are nice, but the older ones have their problems) but that is something else :). Hope LEGO will bring out slopes that will better match the large roofs though, would make it even nicer!
  6. As soon as the review train from Billund arrives I'll scrutinize it to a severe test, hope I can open it as well without breaking it.
  7. Welcome Pdaitabird, enjoy your stay. LDD building is at least the cheapest hobby, I also build a lot in LDD, but then most of the time want to make it and then comes the headache haha ;)
  8. Wow, really stunning! You should submit it to Ideas as well I think! Really like it.
  9. It is BLE (Bluetooth low energy): https://github.com/bricklife/BoostRemote
  10. I agree that an app should not record personally linked data unless needed and users give permission for it. Apple will even reject apps if they notice. I guess we will need to see how it really works. Some people including Jim (our Tech moderator) already have the set and are playing around with it. Using multiple controllers would also likely solve the issue, we will need to see. The four channel option was also not very great, my nephews now and then come here to play with the trains and sometimes accidentally switch over and inadvertently control the train of the other, so it might be that that was why LEGO chose a different solution from the original controller. Probably it has an initial 'pairing time' of some seconds if the receiver and controller get powered up. Update: See the BoostBLEKit for the basic information on the software part of the protocol. https://github.com/bricklife/BoostBLEKit
  11. If for now they keep ABS as the basic material instead of some bio-based plastic, we soon might be lucky, I mean plastic bags get banned, petrol cars get banned, the only way the sheiks will make money in near future is by booking LEGO sales I would say ;) On the topic: same is true for items from other companies including Apple.
  12. Well I don't agree, you could simply even write your own app that uses bluetooth for it. GDPR is only relevant if personal data is stored in apps / websites. @ Mr Hobbles that is a great find, and proves that it is really possible to implement things for it yourself (I understand that it requires a fair amount of technical skills but it is possible).
  13. Very nice! Looking forward to experimenting with them too!
  14. Well that is especially true for the real world Bugatti, for most people the only chance to own a Bugatti will be a miniature or now also a LEGO version I'm afraid. Near Harrods in London (close to Knightsbridge metro station) is a Bugatti store and they also show one in Autostadt / Wolfsburg, very nice cars, but even for a lot of the rich just a step too far. Everything is build by hand.
  15. Really nice job indeed. What program do you use for it? LDraw or? Are you also going to build it for real?
  16. Hi Legoginge, welcome to Eurobricks! Hope you had fun in Billund :) Do you also participate in the FIRST LEGO League?
  17. Hope the plug is at least compatible with standard plugs, just like the Mindstorms plugs are modified RJ11 or something, does anyone know of such a connector like in Boost that is non-LEGO? I know the company that makes the connectors (read: they did the PF connectors at least), but they probably won't sell the connectors to others than LEGO.
  18. @Stash2Sixx most train engineers don't mind getting their hands dirty, a little rough around the edges but after all they are not that unreasonable and mean well ;)
  19. For now I have unlocked the thread again after Bartelas plea that letting some 'kids' spoil the fun in here is indeed not what I want. When the Tech sheriff arrives I suspect he will make a final decision. Beware that if people post any more leaks in here they will very soon "Take a break". There are good reasons for not supporting leaked images, LEGO has asked us in the past to be very cautious about this and since this is a LEGO fan forum we want to comply with such a requests by LEGO of course.
  20. It is doable, but it is not very easy. I've tried to convert a model so I can import it in Swift ARKit. I did it somewhat similar to this:
  21. I'll indeed close it for now, maybe Jim will decide something else, but we seem to have a kid invasion for now, TLG doesn't want us to post leaked images and the decent fans want to comply with TLG, it is that simple.
  22. I'll have a chat with LegoMan2004, he overruled my mod as well :) Thanks for reporting it. For now we have the version of Leviathan. June 1, is in a few days so I expect official info will be given by then. It will hurt that Bugatti I think, I'm sure my wife wants one. She is now still busy building the Mack that she got for her birthday a week ago.
  23. I like the review VBBN, it is a nice set. Expensive, but more or less a must-have. I think my nieces and nephews will really like it, I showed them the video and they were very enthusiastic. Hope that will keep my nephews from playing Godzilla in my town then too ;)
  24. I saw it on 1000steine! Very impressive! That was a lot of work!
  25. Hi Nick welcome to Eurobricks. Our main communication language is English. The topic was from 2016 and asking to help to open an LDD file is not really adding something spectacular to that topic. It would have been better to open a new topic and link to the old one for reference. Apart from that I hope you will enjoy your stay. The issue with the file is that is is corrupt, only 22 bytes that is not very much is it?!
