  1. LEGO already did produce it, it was the 7740.
  2. @ArcanoKPO great! You did it. The other message that you sent ended up with the moderators as you entered it as a report. From 10+ post (I think) you can also send personal messages).
  3. Can you also build it for real? LEGO Trains don't often make it at Ideas and it would be nice to see it realized anyways :)
  4. This happens more often: https://brickset.com/sets/tag-Unreleased
  5. @Legoman0120 and @JackLeftTown if you want to start a new topic on Les Misérables fine, but don't post in a dead thread from eight years ago that serves no use. (Sorry, Darkdragon beat me to it ;))
  6. Lot of nice classic sets WhiteFang! Now I also know how you add all those nice Minifigs from past releases in your reviews.
  7. Sticker paper is not used by LEGO anymore. I use white vinyl (like they use on cars).
  8. I think I would prefer the LEGO version to the original to live in ;) Nice job @zux. Great idea that 0.25 stud offset. One needs it now and then!
  9. Not a direct answer to your question (I would actually also be happy to know how to do that in LDD ;)) but I use Photoshop to do this with rendered (I use Bluerenderer) LXF scenes.
  10. Don't revive very old threads, thank you.
  11. @PepperoniBricks Congrats on your great day! Is your wife also into LEGO or did you let her sign a consent haha ;) Mine is into Technic (I think I'm the cause though).
  12. They won't peel off, not if you use decent vinyl like they use in cars and trucks (like I do). There are a number of Germans that do an excellent job, Steinedrücker comes into mind.
  13. It does cost money, but you might be able to use an educational license and they are very cheap. But when using after effects you do it right in the movie of course. Here is an example of the result using vectors (there a free vector tools including Inkscape) (quite reasonable):
  14. Yups, but it doesn't work like that, you will need vectors to get good result, I use vectors for everything (uh, I think there is one sticker of a classic hose where the TV screen is not a vector but apart from that), for details on stickers you will need vectors.
  15. I have experience with that, did a Uncle Tom's cabin diorama a few years ago. GIMP is not a very suitable tool for such a things since professional printers work better with vectors (at least if you e.g. need to print white). I also did TinTin stickers in the past. But in your use case wouldn't a tool like after effects be better for your purpose?!
  16. Very nice sets! The good old days!
  17. I'm pretty sure that anyone that knows something is under strict NDA. That's how things work...
  18. Reading that FAQ probably not, but they mention a new kind of lights: 88005. Promobricks even has an image: @Toxic43 you could do it the unconventional way, using a soldering iron, connecting two motors and use the other port for the LED. Not sure if the motor controller chip can handle the current from this two motors on one port though. @legotownlinz: you could with current PF and the light and sound system before that of course... As long as they have protection against too high currents... And they have I'm pretty sure seeing the circuit boards.
  19. Exactly: that is quite typical for (mainly) ships in shallow waters like the coasts of Holland / Western-Germany / Denmark. You raise the one on the windward side and lower the one on the lee side (that is why they are called leeboards in English I guess, the Dutch refer to them as 'swords' or 'side swords'. I used to have a little sailing boat that also had them (German made). The main convenience is that if you want to hit the beach you can without any problems since you don't have a fixed keel, same goes for shallow banks that one needs to overcome without crashing your ship.
  20. LEGO added FAQ's to the trains: https://www.lego.com/en-us/themes/city/faq-train (thanks @Dirk1313 for mentioning it ;))
  21. I like the enormous amount of new parts including the legs that we are getting! The wands etc. can also be used for other purposes of course.
  22. Nice job! I say, you really need to have those larger radius curves for this train!
  23. You'd better contact LEGO about it then, seems to be a quality issue. Small deviations might be a problem apparently.
  24. Custom Train wheels are always a thing. LEGO makes very nice wheels, but sometimes we need something else. There are a number of reasons including: - 12V grey era trains being used on newer systems (e.g. RC / PF / PU) - Locomotives with distinct sizes and types of wheels - Very rare wheel options (e.g. Santa Fe cars) - etc. etc. The most famous wheels as far as I'm aware are the infamous BBB (Big Ben Bricks) custom wheels by @benfleskes. People including @zephyr1934 also make additions including driving rods for steam engines. This topic is intended for discussions on existing or desired options for all the LEGO train fans that do not consider adding custom options a violation of their hobby (including @JopieK). Just to win over people that are still a little cautious about this: The shunter on the left is a 7760-style PF train, it makes use of the 'medium' wheels by BBB and rods by @zephyr1934. The train on the right is making use of the red large BBB wheels, before LEGO came out with those (I think in the Toy Story train). Please also add suggestions for the poll :) Note even after the update the poll seems to have issues so we will see how good it works.
  25. @benfleskes and @ScotNick I will add the poll ;) no problem of course!!! @benfleskes maybe also an idea to reproduce the normal wheels with the steel axles in different colors?!
