I hid your other topic. https://www.brickchannel.de/post/lego-10277-das-crocodile-da-freuen-sich-die-eisenbahnfans It seems the train will be 99€. That is not a bad price I think for such a nice train! @Zarkan, interesting that that picture was from 1974, still the 'blue era', but they already show gray track there! Of course ages before the internet, so no leaks like today.

Looks a lot like this one: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/b100be81-413e-4aa8-98f2-f2c68354f5ed (makes sense of course as it has the same original Swiss crocodile as starting point). My brown crocodile (that was destroyed partially by some visiting child not too long ago...) does not look that slick at all ;) 1271 pieces seems to be not that much for such a large train though. That should at least keep the price hopefully somewhat down. Here is a Märklin version also in brown: https://www.reynaulds.com/products/Marklin/39565.aspx

Fortunately you posted it here and not in Train Tech ;) Those virtual crashes are not that bad to endure.

LEGO Creator 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
JopieK replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think in the end they will indeed re-release the Café Corner with some minor changes some day. They also did it with Taj Mahal of course. -
[MOC] Pneumatic Steam Locomotive - scale 1:25
JopieK replied to alfredboyer's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Very nice train indeed, otherwise I would feature it but it was already featured in Technic of course.- 16 replies

Hi vicmoc164. Thanks for joining Eurobricks and welcome. I don't however think that making such an open topics is very wise for a newcomer like you. First share what you are up to and then gradually see how the forum works, meet other members and have useful conversations. There are topics on storage so first find these and at least start out by telling what your idea on storage is I would say. I'll close both topics for now.

2020 Mindstorms set
JopieK replied to Coder Shah's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I guess you mean WiFi? It could have of course, like the Arduino BLE Nano 33 IoT which uses a SoC that supports both BLE and WiFi, but I don't think so. Hope they build it on a Raspberry Pi like system with a powerful processor to also do easy object detection etc. -
Programming language for WEDO 2
JopieK replied to sonra's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Why would it only work with the BLE112? BLE is BLE, just the command that you send over it are different (and you WeDo 2.0 is WeDo 2.0 so the commands are what they are). I have done experiments with WeDo 2.0 in the past using Swift on iOS and it works like a charm. But you still need some bridge between your laptop and the BLE module don't you?! I make my BLE devices always XBee compatible, and when I connect it from my computer I use a XBee - USB serial dongle (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/11697). But maybe you should a simple project first as I am getting the idea that you don't have a lot of experience with embedded systems development. At the moment some of my students are trying to connect Connect+ / Boost / PoweredUP / WeDo with a Raspberry Pi, they know how to work with hardware but are not very affluent in software I think (they are electrical engineers, even though we also have embedded systems development students). -
Programming language for WEDO 2
JopieK replied to sonra's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Why would the BLE 112 be the best? BlueGiga uses 'yet another scripting language' to implement their bluetooth stack on the module. I did use their modules in the past but the nRF52 modules are much easier to use so I switched over to those, they are also Arduino compatible which is great for rapid prototyping of course! Do you happen to have a Raspberry Pi lying around? I would start their and use Python. See e.g. https://github.com/JorgePe/pyb00st / https://github.com/nathankellenicki/node-poweredup. Boost / WeDo 2.0 / PoweredUP / Control+ only differ a little bit at byte level. I would also first try to use a BLE scanner and then see if you can discover a device. I don't know how you want to connect your C# with the BlueGiga module but you would need to at least use an USB - UART convertor I guess. -
Well, here you go: The LEGO Neighborhood Book: Build Your Own LEGO Town! (English Edition) and The LEGO Neighborhood Book 2: Build Your Own City! Available in other languages as well. I have the books, they inspired me a whole lot. Also look at digital design tools like Stud.io and LDD as they are also helpful. Apart from that, please stop posting such a requests, every so often you return to the forum and ask for instructions etc. that is not how things work in the AFOL community I would say.

Well, that is simple, see how other companies do it: it might only take a minor update to support a new robot and is backwards compatible... renaming it is no big deal of course. Programming is programming, the blocks will always need to be translated to machine code for the microcontroller no matter what robot one uses or what graphical (or textual) layer one uses to do so. Good find @Coder Shah:

I have good contacts with the Dutch educational distributer, they are however under a large NDA so even if they would know they would probably not tell me. But the classroom EV3 is of course also over it's lifecycle. I am amazed however that the Spike does not have BLE. We recently bought two Spike sets (I did not open the boxes and haven't heard back from my students yet on how they experienced the Spike), but I would not be surprised if there would come a more beefed-up Spike that could also be used for the FLL etc (Spike is also already allowed afaik).

I also like the one from Duq and of course adding more banners to the arsenal is a wonderful idea as well!

Fix for a burned out a PF train motor
JopieK replied to Coal Fired Bricks's topic in LEGO Train Tech
You could probably use the internals from a powered up motor and donate it to the PF one? -
Really nice job Duq! Let me know when it is finished and I'll make sure it gets uploaded.

Apparently @Hickernator is not really active anymore at Eurobricks, but his Miracle Express has hit 10k: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/a4f69599-1ef2-4959-b81f-17862dc9b810 Fingers crossed they will make it into a great set with great train wheels ;) that we can also mod into a 'non-Queen' livery.

Ok, so I discussed it with the rest of the staff and they think it is a good idea. I also did see the 1920 x 200, but after analyzing the source, it apparently uses two banners: The second one is being repeated horizontally again and again: Resolution of both is 900 x 200.
-
Well I ask it in the staff forum how I add the banner to Train Tech: maybe we should also make a banner contest :)
