(moc) Canadian Pacific Saddleback Caboose
JopieK replied to SteamSewnEmpire's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Very nice, I especially like all the details! -
I'm not sure about that, there is a 'Hidden' train. There also was a Ghost train, so 'wacky trains' have made it into sets in the past. Of course stickers etc. will help, but my argumentation is based on the interview @Jim had some years ago with (I think it was) Jamie Berard, trains are considered a niche market by TLG. It was probably a strong market in 1980+ but nowadays there is so much competition with a lot of other electronic toys.
-
I think it does, but your design would also appeal to more than one type of customers. There are quite some Duplo train sets that are more or less into the same genre of course.
-
Fingers crossed. It is a nice concept train. I think there is quite a chance that they will turn it into a set, but depends of course also on what agreement they might be able to reach with Queen.

But these are on Ideas, alas it will be almost impossible to get 10k with such a train: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/e8dcfff4-b27f-486e-b080-c41cdbd8673a https://ideas.lego.com/projects/899ca545-49a5-4102-aef8-154bb71ac6ea https://ideas.lego.com/projects/b100be81-413e-4aa8-98f2-f2c68354f5ed The miracle express achieved 10k and is under review but it is because apparently Queen is still quite popular, not because there are 10k Train enthusiast I'm afraid.

Yups, fingers crossed the rumors are legit and not a convincing photoshop job.

AFAIK it are still unconfirmed rumors.

Steering with L linear actuators
JopieK replied to sSkye's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Linear actuators tend to be slow of course, so for vehicles I don't think they are an obvious solution. For ships it should work though as they are precise and would help making steering less abrupt which is a problem, especially with larger ships. -
The issues are much more complex indeed than black vs. white. Even though I know that there are too many silly people that judge people by their skin color (I have a few friends that originate from Haiti, in primary school I had a friend who's dad was from Surinam and I attended a bible study group in the US when I did my internship for my bachelor there (there were only two 'whites' including me), from the stories of all those people I heard the sickening stories and anekdotes of how others look at them just for their skin color. I do step up to e.g. a high school when a young friend gets called out just for his skin color (and argue against fellow teachers that do not stand up in such a case). But racism runs much deeper I think. Maybe it would be time that teachers would take people like Victor Frankl serious. He was a Holocaust survivor and Professor of Neurology and Psychiatry and said: "I am absolutely convinced that the gas chambers of Auschwitz, Treblinka, and Maidanek were ultimately prepared not in some Ministry or other in Berlin, but rather at the desks and in the lecture halls of nihilistic scientists and philosophers.". I read Sartre and Camus in French High School class (took French as an elective) and I think has a good point there. I don't however think that a lot of the protesters understand that there is a much more fundamental problem than just discriminating people by the amount of melatonine in ones skin.

Very nice, I instantly recognized the Strukton look before I saw your text.

Indeed really nice, I don't think those horns and the front piece exist in Orange. -
Hi @MaxProduction16 That is a topic from almost four years ago... Also don't ask for LDD files in that way please. Apart from that enjoy your stay, but also read our rules!

Did you already see the final product then? That is one of the reasons LEGO doesn't want leaked images to go out. The images we saw might even we a late April's fools joke for all I know (and the people that know something more are always under NDA so can't say otherwise). Apart from that, if the train would come, it will result in a lot of nice parts that we can then use to MOD it to our own liking, so I'm totally fine with a less than perfect solution with nice new parts. See it as a 'starter kit'.

Welcome @RedBrick77 and enjoy your stay here and in Train Tech as well :)

The price and details indeed make it more like a Creator Expert.

Dutch LEGO masters of the pre-finals ('as we type') is also on Trains ;) (like the previous US version time travel train). @Coolusername, considering the Haunted house probably August would be more realistic. @Zarkan that makes much more sense :)

I don't see any Powered App signs on the box so I'm quite sure it will be released without it, but it might then still be possible to add it though. Mine didn't have any problems with corners but is less long (more like the 4551). Also see the one from @LEGO Train 12 Volts which also seems to have no curve problems (that is where blind wheels are for) but is as far as I can see as long as the 10277:
