  1. This topic is on instructions not on something else, keep it like that please (that is why I hid some posts).
  2. Really nice Sérgio! I was fooled in the first photo by the background and only then saw it was the LEGO version already. Only some graffiti missing ;)!
  3. Keep it tidy in here guys and gals :) Thanks!
  4. Great job! Instantly recognizable!
  5. Hi BrickMusher, I see these 1600/1700 series quite often in real life and I think you could / should improve the nose. I really like your bridge and catenary b.t.w.!!!
  6. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Railways_Mark_1 Probably this differs from every European country.
  7. There also is a WD40 version: https://www.wd40.com/products/white-lithium-grease/
  8. What is the total voltage of your Eneloop batteries? I guess it is about 7.2V instead of 9V (for alkaline). I think that might have to do something with it, at least that is what you should check first. It is typical for microcontrollers and other ICs to behave strangely in under-voltage situations. Maybe the firmware update did something that just made them less robust to under-voltage issues.
  9. @Fuppylodders: that is why they abandoned loose magnets but they have used these magnets that are connected to the buffer with a screw already for quite some years now. Maybe a bigger issue is that if they don't want to use buffers they can't use magnets anymore (as then they would again need separate magnets which are a risk), buffers are mainly used in European-style trains you know.
  10. It actually is even 10 wide at the cylinders of the locomotive. I always limit myself to 6/7 wide, but maybe this will win me over forever :) The wheels are really a nice treat for us LEGO Train enthusiasts.
  11. Very nice train, finally a train again ;) Must have for me but 330€... I better start saving...
  12. LEGO Digital Designer is getting phased out more or less. I still use it quite a bit but then import them using stud.io that is becoming more and more the standard. Stud.io also has additional modules for decals / stickers etc.
  13. For PF they only use four leads of course and want to make it very easy for kids wo connect. For NXT / EV3 this is entirely different, I guess it is also different for Boost / Powered Up / Spike where there are more leads available.
  14. See this: So the motor voltage is 9V and as your Pi IO is 3.3V your control voltage should be 3.3V. That is why this guy uses that motor H-bridge: you send 3.3V PWM signals to it and it is translated to the 9V level by the mosfets inside it.
  15. You see them also in programs like Railroad Alaska at Discovery Channel (even in the EU). Nice job Roadmonkeytj :)
  16. Really nice shellshock! Looks very much like the large version.
  17. Much better than the real one :) (Although the problem wasn't the locomotives though, these were Traxx replacements for the troubles high speed locomotives afaik). That graffiti is also brilliant!
  18. They started in The Netherlands but also have facilities around the globe. I visited their Dutch office / production facility last year and got a tour. Their new materials are incredible!!!
  19. So stick to the topic and stop reacting to each other (ad hominem) otherwise the topic is doomed to get locked that would be a pity right?! Although maybe it would be time for that anyway.
  20. @pooda and @TeriXeri: Stop behaving like little children. Maybe LEGO should put more focus on Junior instead of City, at least some here would deserve that I would say when looking at where the discussion goes...
  21. I immediately recognised it as a Boston Dynamics robot, very well done!
  22. It often takes some tricks like the one Sylvain suggests to get things right... Real LEGO building is a lot easier after all, but alas we are more limited in readily available parts of course ;) I always use LDD / Stud.io first before building IRL b.t.w.
  23. Little nice MOC Klaus-Dieter, did you get your inspiration from a real park?
  24. So then maybe the best suggestion would be to just motorise the two bogies on one and and put some weight blocks inside it!
  25. I also think you can solve it best using Powered Up! I still need to build my second HE. Probably in the coming summer vacation...
