  1. Great job @DMRR WOLFE, looks very nice indeed!
  2. Better contact LEGO then, they will likely replace it without any trouble.
  3. Nice job! Look a little like the ones in the NL: There they are mainly used for track ballasting.
  4. You could try some plastic grease? https://duckduckgo.com/?q=plastic+grease&ia=web Please do check that it is suitable for ABS.
  5. Hi Campervan89, Thanks for joining Eurobricks. Maybe download LEGO Digital Designer or Studio (via Bricklink.com) first and just try? I was not great in it at some point either. Everyone was not great at it at some point in their lives. That is what learning is all about.
  6. It is almost impossible indeed to make more than one model. You could try building it in Studio first of course so then you see exactly what you need.
  7. Nice little car. Will it be a stationary model (pun intended) or is there potential to couple it to a locomotive and drive it?
  8. Very nice built! Not only the functional parts but also the color scheming etc.
  9. True, really nice indeed.
  10. Ah, but probably the newest Spike for educational use (Luly, strange name I think but who cares about names), focusing on younger kids is much easier than the indeed bulky large Spike. https://fllcasts.com/materials/1246-luly-small-lego-education-spike-prime-competition-robot-with-3d-building-instructions
  11. It is comparing apples and oranges. In the PF times Train people were complaining about the IR line of sight. They had good reasons I did not misuse it but I made an Arduino-based IR 'floodlight' which could possibly reap havoc at large layouts (just because I could ;)). Bluetooth low energy (Powered Up) is better if you use up to two actuators. But if you need more you could even use Spike to control your train though. Of course the PF XL motors were really, really powerful but for most trains they are overkill. The PF motor is according to tests from @Philo slightly more powerful than PU, but it is not that much I think. I like BLE advantages much better especially since people including @Lok24 are working on a system to rule them all using MicroPython (gives you direct control of the microcontroller so you can circumvent issues with timeouts etc like @Tcm0 mentioned).
  12. Enjoy your stay Johan. LEGO has a Dacta lineup. They have products focusing on mechanical engineering etc. I also like the book from @Sariel that explains a lot of parts and concepts: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Pawel-Sariel-Kmiec/dp/1593277601/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=pawel+(sariel)&qid=1629208085&sr=8-3 (Bol.com might also have it).
  13. You can use a heat gun to reheat the plastic. Be careful not to deform/burn it of course.
  14. Here is a datasheet for the driver: https://www.onsemi.com/pdf/datasheet/lb1836m-d.pdf Supply voltage should be between -0.3 .. +10V. If the cap is blow (electrolytic capacitor) you could try to resolder them, but there is a diode for reverse power protection so I don't think that was the problem. If the driver IC is fried you could also try to replace it of course but you never know if more items were damaged. @Mortymore tested the unit and found: - With the 2 motors running freely, no more than 150mA was pulled. - With the M motor 8883 stalled, the current went up at around 600mA. - With the XL motor 8882 stalled, was around 800mA. - With the 2 motor stalled, about 950mA. - The maximum input current measured was 1A, and for the output 980mA. 15. @KaijuBuildz welcome to Eurobricks, very nice IDEAS. I already supported it some time ago.
  16. Well LEGO suggests to use 88013 for powering the crocodile (10277). See: https://rebrickable.com/instructions/10277-1/ p118+
  17. Very nice set and also a great review @VBBN! I know some family members that will definitely go for it.
  18. You then better directly purchase via TLG, but they also manufacture parts in China nowadays.
  19. @Lok24 this is a very familiar topic you have :)
  20. @Derida, it is just a list, not like a preliminary image of boxes or something so for now I don't see any harm in it, but maybe other moderators might have a different view on the matter so I will link to it in the staff forum.
  21. Hi Temperson, I have reported your post, so it is now under attention of the other staff as well. Greets Johan
  22. Welcome Kloou! Enjoy EB!
  23. They are also a bunch of volunteers / LEGO enthusiasts, maybe some of their own ideas got stolen, just speculation, but I know it happens and some people really get mad about it (with a good reason). I don't have Nathan's email, but here is his LinkedIn page: https://www.linkedin.com/in/nathanthom/?originalSubdomain=au
  24. Not bad at all! @Aanchir, half-barriers are also typical in other countries including Holland. We have places where they use entire barriers but then they are supervised by humans to see if cars get stuck.
  25. You could use a VPN. Maybe the IP addres range you are in was also used by some spammers. But now you mention China, another possibility would be that they are probably worried about people copying the designs and selling them under Lepin or other clone brands?!
