[MOC]LEGO CV-33 GuP.ver
JopieK replied to NABLACK's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Very nice job. Especially how you fitted the motor in it. -
Could you please read and adhere to the rules?! I.e. for starters don't cross-post. Apart from that: Welcome to Eurobricks @Muxolini87. I think I see quite some parts from https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=8943-1#T=I But I'm no Bionicle expert so others might have better alternatives.

Thanks for sharing @MadDadBricks. I will definitely vote for it. In Holland we had "De Arend" which was of the same design Apart from that, please don't spam / cross-post in different fora.

Great job @zephyr1934. Maybe add some stickers on the building too! I like the cars and locomotive very much.

Wow, very nice! Hope you will be able to build it in real bricks and share it!
-
A deserved first place. Lot's of nice other ideas but yours is really nice and also captures both the theme and the power of LEGO very well.

Welcome to Eurobricks @julien83!

Welcome back @battle_gorilla. -
Really nice. The nine wide allows to add so many great details! I like the stickers too, they really add to the realism.

Why were some sets region specific?
JopieK replied to SpacePolice89's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Some sets still are. E.g. special asian sets, or sets together with Target. Also some are limited to e.g. parks. Back in those days there was no worldwide distribution like nowadays I think, that could also have caused it. Santa Fe sets were rare finds in the EU even though we managed to get some. -
Is It Possible To Reintroduce Old Sets?
JopieK replied to SpacePolice89's topic in General LEGO Discussion
But they do it occasionally, take Review: 40370 Steam Engine as an example. It is a replica of the 7810 Push-Along Steam Engine! -
[MOC] Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
JopieK replied to Lasse's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Wow! C.S. Lewis would really enjoy it Lasse :) Great job. Most scenes are instantly recognizable. -
Great work @FGMatt. Welcome to Eurobricks and Train Tech b.t.w.!
-
Very nice @omby54. Very nice work. B.t.w. mind you that we expect everyone to speak English at Eurobricks so could you please fix that? I'm affluent enough in French to be able to understand you but if I would post in Dutch, others in French, Chinese, German, Danish, whatever it would become very difficult :)

Wow very cool job indeed. Those new pieces can really make a difference and bring such a set to a level that wasn't possible back in the eighties.

[ENTRY] 6500 A Promiscuous Sailor Captain (Mini Set)
JopieK replied to JopieK's topic in Pirate MOCs
Wasn't done yet indeed, fighting with the spoiler tag... Well I tried to keep it a little promiscuous but decently enough for a little wider public. But again I don't think LEGO would transform it in to a real set. -
MOC 6500 A Promiscuous Sailor Captain Encouraged by the complements of you guys I tried another one :) Captain Bluecoat met a nice lady somewhere in the harbor. They agreed to meet under the lantern near the pier. He was so excited by the nice lady that his pants dropped (or did he just forget his belt?!). Part count: 39 But then again...
-
Thanks all for the great feedback everyone. I agree that some additional plates would make it more appealing as a store set but it would bump the part count considerably: This already bumps it to 38 pieces. So for the purpose of the challenge I would stick to v2 I think (i.e. the one on top).
-
I agree that those are great suggestions to make the point even more convincing :) Updated the image! And that last bit of grog might have been too much even for a seasoned Pirate Captain early in the morning:

Pirates Mini Set MOC: 6300 Treasure Found (v2) The Pirate Captain seems to have been very successful in finding the treasure. It appears he has made good use of it since then. The monkey is also up to no good. Maybe innocent mischief or is it seeing his chance of breaking free from his master?! I'm quite sure TLG wouldn't allow any rogue designer to put this set on the market. Nevertheless it would have been a nice little set I think. Parts: 33 I'm not sure if if would fitter better in the 'new' era. A lot of parts used did not exist in my childhood years when I had most of the small sets, but it could also fit in style back then I think. The lid of the barrel and monkey are currently non-existing / recolored items (Dark Brown). All the other parts do exist already in the particular color etc. Note: the studio file can be found here. Before the suggestions from @Rogue Redcoat (v1):

Very nice job. So many details and that in a 4 stud gauge locomotive! Really impressive @GrandPixelMan. I also like the yellow truck. Fits the era well.
