The oldest set you have ever found in a toy shop?
JopieK replied to legotrainfan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
those speciality stores occasionally have old sets indeed... I found an old town set in a regular toy store nearby (10041 set) -
Very nice!!! Great idea ;) now some appropriate figs!

The Sun and IR Signal
JopieK replied to JohannesESTONIA's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm looking into XBee, hope to get the modules this week. You then receive the IR signal directly from the remote, process it, send it using XBee to the receiver station and the receiver makes a new IR signal close to the application. -
Could you give more details on that?! I did not find it while searching very quickly.

LEGO 10240 Cockpit Stickers applied using water?
JopieK replied to Haderach's topic in LEGO Star Wars
alcohol might be dangerous though, if your stickers are solvent based (like our new ones). Eco solvent is environmentally friendly and water resistant but not alcohol resistant unfortunately. Unless they are treated with some coating of course. -
I always use reed sensors and also started to use RFID... That works great with a PF system. Tomorrow demo in Wetteren / Belgium (will be there only tomorrow ;)). It turns out the PF motors have strong enough magnets inside to be detected by a reed sensor, I hope two write articles for Railbricks about that (I promised them already, will finish the series soon I hope). @Hrw-Amen: start with Arduino, it is very easy to use for non-tech people as well!

Limits of the PF switch?
JopieK replied to AndyCW's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Well, if you don't go further than about 40V you should be OK I guess, also depending on the amperage of course ;) (you should not experience any problems with 9.6 V and a max of some amperes, check the philohome website as well, Philippe Hurbain might know the electrical properties of the switch). -
Very nice job!!! Maybe you should do something about the barriers, they move very fast (of course caused by the original point motor units).

very nice indeed, only those parts already

Mistake in LEGO's minifigure timeline?
JopieK replied to badbob001's topic in General LEGO Discussion
strange, probably some non-LEGO fan wrote that ;) -
In the Dutch "Spoorwegmuseum" there currently is an exhibition about war trains so they might be interested ;) They show a grenade of the Gustav cannon there. Of course those cannons were only effective when one has air superiority as well.

whooh, that looks very nice! Such a rich details!!!

So do I but one thing I did not get when I was a child: the decoupler. When I finally got one as an adult, I was very disappointed by the result tough.

Here is an automated version: Lowered: And raised: A demo: It uses a simple Arduino program at this point (serial control, if you press 'l' it will lower, if you press 'r' it will raise) but hope I will incorporate it in an automated PF setting later on (maybe even this week). Arduino Sketch / Instructions

You're welcome: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=80413 -
one could make a generator for that of course :)

we have a business in that so you could send me a message too of course ;) (we use vinyl like LEGO does and cut it from illustrator)
