  1. This set was actually designed by a Dutch AFOL (Fred Beijert), he has displayed (and sold) it already for some years at LEGOWorld etc.
  2. Welcome @EB fellow Dutchian ;) What LEGO category do you like best?!
  3. with a sharp knife like a scalple I would say. You can also buy magnets e.g. at supermagnete.de
  4. Hi minuszwei, hope you enjoy your stay! Nice project!!! Even those stickers are crazy, 120€ and up @ bricklink. Difficult design though! I'm a software engineer of 32++ ;)
  5. Well hope to get them up soon, but work and masters are keeping me busy so probably next weekend! Holland has changed in Siberia right now and we Dutchies are not very accustomed to that so hope I can reach my house again b.t.w. ;)
  6. You could use Arduino of course, there will be upcoming tutorials in Railbricks about that.
  7. It is focussed to educational purposes. Things like FIRST LEGO League etc.
  8. well... printing white is extremely difficult. You could use old ALPS technology (second hand). We have a 15.000€ Versacamm VS-300 for it (there are cheaper ones but not below 8000€). A Canon Pixma MP510 is a CMYK printer without white options... You don't normally print stickers on paper but on vinyl.
  9. Super Chief was finished yesterday. Still busy with the cars and of course the port holes on the panels! All those nasty half tones :)
  10. @peterab, you are incorrect, same font, but indeed the letters are just black there! About companies, of course they change their logo now and then. E.g. Shell is a nice example of that. You can even see it in their font being used in LEGO sets over time (the pre octan time of course ;)). @SpokaneSteve, can you elaborate on "die cut", if you mean they are cut in the inside and the outside, yes we did. When I have time I can upload some finished pictures tomorrow I think and upload them to our site (including setting the inventory).
  11. Thanks for the compliments ;) Halftones are still a challenge but getting better at it ;)
  12. Hi guys, I have pretty much wrestled through the exhaust pipe issues (learning more illustrator tricks every day now ;)). When reproducing the 10133 stickers for the BNSF, I saw this: If you look at the LEGO version, they used a more standard serif font: The upper one is my creation, the lower one is the original LEGO version (as you can read on the sheets as well ;)). Why would they do such a thing? I also added white backgrounds to the dark green/yellow parts. That way they come out better I think. The LEGO version did not have that as well. Especially not nice on the front sticker that has a orange color, the sticker. Did they do a hasty job? Strange for such a collectors item I think. I Also like the yellow letters with the black outline of the original a bit better but did not want to go too far away from the original stickers at this time.
  13. The cannon is not that heavy ;) (at least not if made of ABS I mean :p)
  14. Printing them on vinyl is also a nice option :) I still have problems reproducing those ugly halftones that LEGO uses in Santa Fe stickers etc ;)
  15. @Timoonn... Read... it IS!!! Proof: (@Ted: you beat me to it ;))
  16. There are other options of course, like Arduino (I use that quite often), but I like NXT very much for less technical varieties of education (like Primary Education, Secondary non-Informatics education etc). One additional motor possibility is very nice. I am referee and coach in our region for the FIRST LEGO League and would hope this will push young students a bit more towards technical education :)
  17. @bluescrn: Not an amazing upgrade?!!! USB host, bluetooth for iOS and Android support, extra motorport, Linux as core OS, expendable memory for programs, etc.... Quite some upgrade I would say!!!
  18. Some animals are more equal than others ;)
  19. I want to buy more LEGO, sell more LEGO stickers and build much, much more MOC's ;) (hope to graduate for my masters < april so more time then :))
  20. Great job!!!! lighting is also very nice!
  21. very nice job!!! Nice tower.
  22. I always protect it agains the sun, we have sun protection at the windows of our attick always closed. But I think heat is more problematic than UV.
  23. Was this your inspiration?
  24. 7.4 V should be fine. Check the page by Philippe Hurbain (Philohome)
