well, our approach is most of the time: we make free promotion for those companies. It would be a really lot of work to ask permission to all companies we use stickers of to ask permission. We know that Dutch beer marks are sensitive to this, but that is due to the fact that LEGO is often associated with minors and beer + minors is not a good idea. So... I think you should be fine. And otherwise you will see since you get a takedown notice (or a friendly email asking you to not use their logo anymore). Of course the logo is their copyright so if you want to be absolutely sure, just ask I would say!

@(Dutch): that is still fairly cheap, a vinyl printer costs a lot more :) (we have a cheap one and it already costs your amount times 30 ;)). We just bought a HP LaserJet Pro M275nw (but not for stickers, only for printing invoices etc.).

no need for wight block I guess, there are so many parts inside to create that nice curves! Looks very nice, I only prefer 6 wide trains better, but this 8-one is really stunning!

hope then it will be not either or but both and of course ;)

Reminds me a bit of "Day of the tentacle" ;) Nice job! Hope the dog is smart enough to search another source for quenching its thirst.

LDD MOC/MOD: Vintage Western-style steam train
JopieK replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Nice job! Now you should build it in real of course ;) -
I think the entrance to the 'bierkeller' is disguised though, I mean, who would need a scaffold built (Fachwerk) house for other purposes than to store German white beer ;) @captain settle: the windows like that occur in real houses though: Fachwerk-und-Backstein-a18528479.jpg

why would one smash LEGO :s I'm a bit puzzled. Nice MOC though!

you will almost need to buy the bricks directly from LEGO, such a huge amount for the entire roof! But... the effect is wonderful!!

Thanks Ben, quess I need to paint then as well ;)

I would recommend a Roland Versacamm VS series printer like we have ;) (uhm, yups, they cost you a fortune ;)) Most decal people use ALPS machines, they print using solid ink. We used to have a model that was based on the same dye sublimation principle, but it had issues, not good at mixing colors and problems like snapping cartridges, banding, etc. Our new printer is much, much better. B.t.w. I can of course help you out, as I did with the TinTin decals for Ben.

Hi SandMirror38, check it out at: http://www.ministickers.nl/shop/dutch/custom-stickers.html Hope you will enjoy them as much as we do ;) I actually also got some Thomson heads from Bricklink ;) b.t.w. what would be the best hat for Calculus?! I now used a helmet but don't like it very much...

There is really no difference between model railroading or LEGO I think. My wife is involved from since we met :)

12V motor
JopieK replied to Good old Lego builder's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@Good old Lego builder: if you need the speed computer, I have a bunch lying around (MISB), very nice find that 12V motor! I did not know that it existed. Same age as myself, that might be one of the reasons ;). In case you live nearby, I also have an arduino solution that should help you time it ;) -
Review Review: 21103 Back To The Future Time Machine
JopieK replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That shield spelling error is very bad... I saw it immediately, maybe since I've lectured freshmen English in high school ;) Nice Review Rufus The red wheels are very nice in the set (yesterday I noticed they don't exist in any other set, but some german has a bunch of them (1€ per piece)). The set is not that expensive either... 35€ probably as well.- 207 replies

12V motor
JopieK replied to Good old Lego builder's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
12V motor? I only remember 9V and 4.5V motors for technic. 12V was for my first trains however. -
looks very nice, the effect works well too!

I guess you also want a Tintin head?! What kind of head did you have in mind then? Tomorrow I'm going to Germany to pick up my LugBulk stuff, but wednesday I'm back home to finish the design and do some mass production.

Well, it costed much more effort than expected (I'm not very often busy with minifigure's mostly only the torso or as part of larger sheets). But I did it... will up them next week since I'm away for the weekend. Will cost 7,50€ excl. vat (Dutch, just pm with your address so I can send you some for your help :)) The stickers... (large version here: link) The whole crew... Snowy has become muddy at the moment, I don't have the fire station dog yet ;) And only one lone ranger train so one thomson has no hat... The butler, better to erase the head first, but anyway. It is very close up so the edges are less noticeable in reality. Back of the milkman and Nestor, unfortunately time is up and my camera focused on the glass... Hope to have the stickers online on tuesday or wednesday. Enjoy!

you really don't understand how the stickers are printed do you? My printer ( ) can do quite a lot, but is not able to understand: "this is bley". I'll try today on white and as I already told you I will squeeze the thomsons so the eye's and brows will fit also with the head on the front. so nestor is bald with a hairpiece at the back?!
-
yes, if you have enough curved track it is possible as you can see... b.t.w. the train forum is also ok for monorail trains, so this is the right place :) The monorail train has good traction so you could definitely try this out!!!

Well, apart from the gaiters (aren't they, they look like the ones from uncle scrooge to me at least)... it is printing... but... creating the file was rather challenging, so it costed me more time than expected (of course ;), always with such a projects.). Update: First results are in: As one can see, they turned out way too pink (RGB -> CMYK problem). Maybe I will squeeze the thomsons a little as well. Tomorrow I will print them on white since I think that is more preferable with these stickers and match the CMYK colors using my huge chart. This version was on transparent vinyl, with two layers of white ink and then the colors.

Problem is that I don't have the bowler hat right now... I will however try to print it in such a way that you can still move the sticker down. [update:] It is part 95674, I have the Lone Ranger sets so even in both gray and black... always the problem with LEGO, AFOL's most of the time don't know what parts they have (or am I the only one at EB.com with brick dementia )
