  1. Don't save up your money for next year if you'd want an AT-ST; the AT-DP will likely be announced as one of the 2015 sets, not leaving a lot of space for a second chicken walker (I reckon)
  2. Neither. Try to get the one from 8038. There are quite a few for sale online, and getting the individual parts should not be a problem.
  3. I pimped mine when I got it (back in 2001 this was advanced photography kids!):
  4. Here's from someone who sees amazing creations, yet can only spell Tehcnic himself: 8: 5 points 13: 5 points 16: 5 points 26: 5 points 31: 5 points
  5. My neighbour, amateur photographer, will come in a fortnight to make some nice shots of my collection so I can finally add something to this great topic :-)
  6. I've made some alternative colour schemes of the ARC-170 in the past, based on the various variations which Hasbro sold throughout the years: Shadow & Razor Squadron ARC-170 by HJR-Holland, on Flickr And then I've also made a few ETA-2 variants, although I've only uploaded one variant on Flickr to date: Darth Vader Sith Starfighter 02 by HJR-Holland, on Flickr I also made versions of the Mickey Mouse & Aayla Secura ETA-2's, but I'm still trying to get minifigs for both of them :-) All the stickers are my own design by the way, and available at ministickers.nl. You'll need to ask for them, as they're not sold in the shop directly (has to do with copyright stuff etc.)
  7. last year the AT-AP was the only SW LEGO set revealed at SDCC; hope that this year they'll reveal some more... As for this new Wookie vehicle; I agree that it looks like nothing from the Wookie homeworld, but then again there's money in the Star Wars universe, so they just could have bought it; I'd most certainly get the best war machines available on the black market if the Empire was hovering above MY planet...
  8. Well, we haven't seen this new X-wing design in 'Rebels' yet (nor in the preview booklet on youtube), so as long as that doesn't happen, there's no hiatus I guess... And don't forget: at the time the X-wings were in used they were already considered as 'old vehicles'. Why wouldn't this specific X-wing be an even older example?
  9. I seriously got seasick watching that... How hard can it be to focus out a bit and keep the phone stable? Interesting contents though... Look forward to next years' sets :-)
  10. I always laugh when I see the price of the 'TIE-Droid' on BL when it basically consists of a dome- and a dish piece... I always go for the cheapest option; I once bought: - 10x legs in store 1 - 10x torsos in store 2 - 10x head + headgear in store 3 And that way saved 30% compared to a 'full' figure :-)
  11. I presume we'll get at least a glimpse of what's coming at SDCC in a fortnight Last year we got the preview of the AT-AP there; hope this year it'll be something more spectacular!
  12. Very nice rendition of this vehicle; too bad it can't be made into a 'real' model just yet... Wish you all the best with obtaining the 10k supporters :-)
  13. I was really pissed off when I saw it at first, as I am in the middle of creating one as well! But then I saw this isn't minifig-sized, whereas mine will be just that. Nice build though! Can the back side flip open for the rockets or is it fixed?
  14. Truly a masterpiece! Congratulations with your success on this model :-)
  15. Good MOD; bonus points for you TheRacker
  16. Aren't these 'exclusive-end-of-year' sets normally around $50? (Tri-Fighter, Police Gunship, Starhopper etc.) Would be hard to imagine both an AAT and a Speeder for that price. Back in 1999 / 2000 that was surely an option, but now? Dunno...
  17. Why don't you surprise both LEGO and the Afol community, and send it back to LEGO?
  18. best set of 2014 IMHO; and coming from a strict Star Wars LEGO fan & buyer, that's quite something
  19. Well, it's good to see everyone is in good sprit to vote for existing licensed projects. The point of starting this topic was that in the past I've seen a lot of lethargic to negative feedback on posting Star Wars Cuusoo projects where people said 'it's Star Wars, so it won't make it because it's licensed, so I won't vote' and then many times use the UCS Sandcrawler as their smoking gun, as that one didn't make it. We do know now that with development time being about 2-3 years for a LEGO set, LEGO already had a UCS-esque Sandcrawler in the works, and the Cuusoo project was well thought off, but ill-timed, and so turned down. It was however not turned down for being a Star Wars licensed set. And with the comment of LEGO for Cavegod's project the thought of Star Wars (or other existing licensed projects for that matter) not making it per sé is out of the window. And I find that good news. What LEGO did instead was to warn that a similar situation could arise with the UCS AT-AT: at the time someone launched a project LEGO started off developing a UCS AT-AT themselves, and this could cross one-another. In fact, I would be rather disappointed if LEGO wouldn't have looked at a UCS AT-AT in the 15+ years they've been working on LEGO Star Wars sets Maybe the quarterly results later this year LEGO will enforce LEGO to make other decisions concerning new projects based on existing licenses, but for now I'm keeping my hopes up
  20. Interesting read at the LEGO IDEAS page on Cavegod reaching 5000 votes for his epic UCS AT-AT: That means that, different than what some claim in various LEGO forums, voting for licensed products is not a lost vote per sé. That's good news for those who have Star Wars (or other licensed) projects on the LEGO IDEAS website. Would this influence your willingness to vote for, or upload, projects that are licensed such as Star Wars?
  21. Well, Sorry, but the differences are minimal: Besides, the Arelight is a REAL Twi'lek; the LEGO one is a minifig in drag: I'm rather happy with my Arealight Twi'leks
  22. This set hasn't been inventarised by Bricklink yet, so that's why you can't find it. Rest assured; I'm sure it will come :-)
  23. The hands in the specific Watto colours are really rare, but I do think the recent line-up of collectable minifigs (Yeti, lab assistant) or SW-Max Rebo have hands that could replace them without too much disruption in the model. And don't forget LEGO themselves avoid having to make hands in similar colours as the rest of the torso; you could also use (dark) tan or something like that...
  24. Put it on LEGO Ideas and see what happens :-)
