Like remaking the 'future LEGO Star Wars' post; sure ;-)

New week, new batch: The Obi-Wan is dark brown, whereas Laze's ought to be in black, hence the choice. Obi-Wan's does have a lot more detail though, I do agree on you there :-) That's a standard LEGO fig with an Arealight helmet & vizor. You can easily remake these yourself :-)

This question has popped up several times in Q&A's with LEGO designers. Fact of the matter is that for each piece in each colour, LEGO had to keep stock. Stock costs money and room, so one way to avoid this is by using less different colours. So what happened often was that once a model was finished, it was carefully checked if colour A could be replaced by colour B in order to avoid extra stock of a new item. Especially on interiors LEGO were keen on not introducing pieces in new colours / parts of colours that were not on stock.

Well, in their wisdom TLG decided that it would not be possible to update the main page of a LEGO IDEAS project once it has been created. There is a separate 'update page' on which updates can be put, but I doubt whether that is read a lot...

I'll take up the challenge! I'm not a quick builder, but I'll start with one soon - I was looking for a new walker to make anyway :) -

MOC: Arbra Speeder Bike (Star Wars Marvel comics)
HJR-Holland replied to HJR-Holland's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Well, they're red so it might be a testrun of a new mold (LEGO tends to use the colour red for that) and I had actually expected for this part appearing in a Q1-2 LEGO set. However, up to now I haven't seen a set with this part in this colour... -

Bad copy; it should actually have small side wings in as well... Look closely at the LEOG version; it does have the side wings -
MOC: Arbra Speeder Bike (Star Wars Marvel comics)
HJR-Holland replied to HJR-Holland's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The comic was released in October 1981 :-) -
It must have been about 10 years ago when I came across this small speeder bike in a Star Wars Marvel Comic (nr 55): Leia and Chewbacca use these when they are on the planet Arbra to find a new location for the rebel fleet, and encounter the Hoojibs. At the time I copied an image from it on my computer; never thinking it would be possible to recreate this small, round vehicle in LEGO pieces. But lo and behold when LEGO came out with curved pieces a few years ago; t'was possible! So here's my version of these nifty speeders. Q: is that a 1x1 with studs on all sides in red? A: Yes it is. And no, I don't have a clue in which set they come. But they are available on Bricklink, albeit very expensive ($2 - $3 each) Enjoy!

TIE Phantom is in progress :-) -
And there's more: No, that's not paint; that's a real Red Darth Vader Helmet :-) With these I hit through the 100 unique custom minifigs by the way; there's another 150 to go

A model like this got 10.000 votes at LEGO Ideas; I'm curious what they'll say about it at the next review...

[MOC] UT-AT - Unstable Terrain Artillery Transport
HJR-Holland replied to Mangetsu's topic in LEGO Star Wars
When I first noticed the LDD files on Flickr I immediately fell in love with this model, and directly stop with my own Ldraw design of this model - sinmply couldn't have done it myself. Hope you're willing to open-source the digital model for rebuilding, as I would definitely want to build this model. I already have the galactic marines & Bacara to go along with it :-) -
+1 for that 2nd pic :-D

I think it's time for a new batch, don't you? Cade Skywalker is my absolute favorite; apart from his trenchcoat (by CapeMadness) it only consists of originl parts :-)

The pauldron comes from brickforge.com. Just FYI for everyone here: on the flickr pages of these images I now added info on the diverse custom pieces I used :-)
