  1. I tried that, but it makes the vehicle rather wobbly; this was a very rigid way of sorting the issue; the 6.6l bar is tightly fitted between a Technic brick w. axle and a 1x2 plate w; 1 stud. In the 'real' model the low bar is between the steering column on the top and the radiatror at the bottom; I did accomplish that at least If there are better ways then please show me; the great thing about MOCs is that they are never finished
  2. Great model from all angles, except for the back. With with a full interior it's understandable that you needed to put the mechanics on the outside. Wish I had some Technical insight; I'd love to automise some of my models...
  3. Nope, the 'real' one genuinely has three bars; you can see it better in this picture:
  4. Hello all, It's been a very, very long time since I posted a MOC, but with the aid of a new camera that actually focusses where I want it to do and with some gained experience of using photoshop, I can finally present something new to you all. And that's not all: for the coming year I will post a new MOC every month, of which 10 are already finished! For my first project I want to take you back to 2003, when Hasbro sold this 'Ultimate Bounty' set as a TRU exclusive: and in it was a rather cool Speederbike of Aurra Sing, which I liked very much: Long have I thought of making a MOC of this cool vehicle, but it was a bit of challenge to get around that skeleton on the motorcycle. Where could I get such a part? Well, thanks to the Lone Ranger sets which TLG released, I could finally move ahead and make this: More images are in this Flickr set Some details concerning the set: As you can see the from of the motorcycle is connected to the steering / engine part with 3 bars. the two on the top are 6 stud long bars, the one on the bottom is 6.6 studs long. The saddle bags are in black, which makes it a rare piece as it was never released in any LEGO set officially. there are some sellers on Bricklink who have them, but they ask a hefty price. I got mine from Australia I hope you enjoy this MOC, feedback is always welcome!
  5. I do not think the license issue should stop us voting for Star-Wars related projects anymore. I do see on other sites that people start to say that it's no use to vote for Star Wars related sets on CUUSOO anymore due to the licensing issue with Lucasarts. However, I do think it is important to pass on to TLG on what we would like to have, and what we think TLG should make or at least focus on. A UCS Sandcrawler might not have made it due to the licensing issues, but at least TLG now knows there's a big horde of people who would want a big, challenging set based on a Sandcrawler
  6. Here is a pic of the 'original' : There is also a variant: I would indeed give the centre some more body; I do applaud for making such an unknown ship though
  7. That thing is awesome! Low if; great detailing, great droids i would have used clear bars instead of clear round bricks for the hovering droids though, but that's a negligable issue... Great!
  8. Thanks for the review; would you by any chance have some pictures of the parts overview at the end of the catalogue?
  9. Thanks for the inventory pics! I really like the 6x6 round plate in LBG :-)
  10. Thanks for the review! Could you please add a picture with the parts layout from the end of the building instructions with the LEGO article codes in them? Mille grazie :-)
  11. same problems in holland; DVD's are available, but not with the minifigs... Had to import in order to get them.
  12. Thanks for the review :-) Do you maybe have a good picture of the parts list iof this set? Thanks.
  13. Wow, that's interesting; sent you a PM :-)
  14. I never said it would be completely out of the question; I'm just stating that the focus would be on other things than TCW..
  15. Currently TLG is focussed on TOR, the movies and of course the new SW-Rebels series; slim chance of seeing a Hounds' Tooth from those profiles, and 2014 would be too soon I think... But let's see what happens :-)
  16. Very impressive combo; love it! Really like the cockpit of the TIE
  17. In that case I'd rather go for a Gian speeder than a new Flash speeder :-)
  18. I guess it depends a bit on what you mean by 'real'. It is a vehicle that was made by Hasbro last year: More images can be found here: http://www.rebelscum.com/Republic_Attack_Dropship.asp It's a nice rendition of the vehicle; it's on my longlist to be built as well, although I'm waiting for LEGO to come out with smaller canopies, so it can be made a wee bit smaller... Good one, ACpin!
  19. I like the vehicle and will surely buy a copy, but I cannot understand why TLG or Lucasarts would choose such a vague vehicle over vehicles which had a far more prominent role in the Clone Wars or EP III...
  20. sleeper, have you ever thought about opening a Flickr account for your MOCs? I saw your Mocpages isn't in use anymore and imageshack isn't easy in use... also, do you have building instructions available for these? I'd really like to make one in due time...
  21. Bizarrely, I did... I really need to get into this POV-Ray stuff; as I build all my models in Ldraw first, I think that sometimes the digital version comes out better in pictures than the 'real' thing...
  22. Wow, they look great! I'm working on an Azure angel myself which should be ready at the end of May; it'll have plate-wings instead of this one with brick-wings, although I do like the looks of this version with bricks :-) I take it the trans-red-dome is Photoshopped?
  23. Great, I finally have an answer to my questions: it's all ACPins's fault ;-)
  24. That thing is awesome! Love it :-)
  25. Errr... sentimental reasons? For me the 8129 is great, but the 4483 is epic. It was LEGO's first proper Walker, a huge set when it came out, came totally unexpected, and was the granddaddy of all the LEGO walkers you see these days. It's a set so nice, I bought it twice! (I do have all the other variants as well)
