From what I can understand, either you can't find the app for download, or you downloaded it but can't connect to that battery box. In the first case, it can be downloaded from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.scn.BrickController2 (Android) or https://apps.apple.com/us/app/brickcontroller2/id1441923224 (iOS). In the second case, the app can't connect to that kind of battery box. It's compatible only with the Power Functions IR receiver (if your phone has infrared), SBrick, BuWizz, and the official LEGO Powered Up hubs.

    I don't see TLG creating new tyre moulds specifically for Monster Truck pullbacks, but... Tractor tyres: too narrow. Balloon tyres: too round. Tumbler tyres: too shallow tread.

    I wouldn't be surprised at all if TLG employees roamed around here, even if anonymously and/or unofficially. After all, many of them are AFOLs, too.

    Could they have had to change the protocol to accommodate the extra outputs? If I'm not mistaken, all 6 LEDs are individually controlled.

    Only imurvai can tell for sure, but from what I've seen support for that isn't copy and paste because TLG changed slightly the protocol it uses.

    It goes all the way back to the 8448, which came with two extra yellow beams specifically to lift its driven wheels off the floor and see the effect the different gears had on the motorised model. Already at that time the LEGO designers weren't expecting you to go around speeding with that large model (although it had instructions to automate with an RCX and two paired motors for propulsion).

    I remember 42000 being heavily criticised for its LA-powered opening mechanism, and how it should have been manual, or have its entire rear body removable. There is simply no way that the Technic team can please everyone.

    TLG likely doesn't want to be sued by parents whose children drowned while trying to get their runaway boat back. I have no idea how 42105 got the green light, but as a MOCer I'm glad it did.
