  1. Wow, brilliant MOC Gunman! The sail on that boat, the water wheel, and the ramshackle shed are all beautifully and cleverly done! Your landscaping is also great!
  2. Thank you TRV! It seems the war elephant is pretty popular! Thanks man! Thank you Markus! Thank you Gideon! Good eyes for spotting the inverted arch! I had to use it because I ran out of regular arches, so it was interesting to try to get them to fit there and stay in place. And I'm a big fan of your builds/style, so I gladly give credit where credit is due! Thank you Jakorin!
  3. Thank you! It was interesting to try to find a way to attach the 2nd pair of tusks, and get the right angle on them. Thanks man! Glad you like the colors! Thanks dude! Thanks SK! Dark blue and white are actually my sig-fig's personal heraldry, so I thought it would be cool to try working the colors into some builds, and maybe expand his background story, though in this particular build I couldn't figure out how to fit it in. Thank you Gunman! My walls were actually heavily inspired by Gideon's awesome Petraea builds. Nah, I'm an Avalonian through and through! I'm just a fan of the Kaliphlin architecture style, and enjoy building there.
  4. Beautiful moc man! Lots of great details and techniques, I love the texturing and angles of the buildings!
  5. Nice looking ship! It has a very sleek look.
  6. Very cool build! The way you've done the fountain using the light saber piece is great, and the weather vane is really nice! Great figs too!
  7. Nice, I like the scythe and the corn stalks!
  8. That's what I was thinking too, but then I was wondering if it would look better if I took off the stern and re-did it more as a frigate?.. Thanks man. I too was surprised that I couldn't find any one else that had used this cannon design (that I've seen anyways). My bad, I realized I didn't word my question quite right. What I meant to ask was would it look better to take off the stern and make it low like most frigates, or to keep it high and make it a galleon?
  9. Edited to revise my question Hey guys, this is my first topic in the pirate forum! Anyways, I wanted to show you guys my current WIP, and ask your opinion on whether it should be a galleon in the manner of the Black Pearl, or if I should lower the stern and make it a frigate? Anyways, the pics aren't the best (seems like I'm always saying that LOL), but I didn't have a big enough background for the ship. And here's a shot of the custom cannon I made. I haven't seen anyone else use this technique, so I'm pretty proud of it.
  10. Thanks Behemoth! Thanks! The trail was an experiment with the 2x2 upside down tile pieces. Thanks Vlad! I had fun with the posing, although you can't really see all of the people behind the elephant. Thank you for the comments and suggestions LordDan! The elephant's armor was difficult, and I agree it would be nice to have it look like it's moving, but it's to hard to make the armor look symmetrical/nice at the same time. About the doors, they do open, but the back of the wall is just solid tan, as it's not meant to be viewed. Thanks mccoyed! Yeah, the reason I decided to do the tour of the guilds originally was because I thought it would be a good way to improve my building, and become more diverse stylistically. Plus it's fun! Ha, thanks man! I know the elephants on BrickLink are pretty expensive, so I hope you can find one for a decent price! I got mine from the original sets, back in the day. Thanks Carson! Originally I was thinking about making this "The War of the Flag", as a myth about how the Kaliphlin flag got its colors (half wanted blue and white, half wanted red and white...), but then I decided not to. Thank you Scaevola! Thanks! Glad you like my kaliphlin style!
  11. Here's a build I've been working on the last couple days. I've decided I'm going to make a circuit of Historica, and try building in each of the guilds. To start off, I've done a build in Kaliphlin, depicting an unknown battle from it's history. Without figs: Up close of the double tusked War Elephant: Sorry about the not so good photography, I had to photograph indoors, so my lighting wasn't ideal. I tried taking the pictures right under a window, but it didn't really seem to help much. And then when I viewed the pictures on my laptop, they looked slightly out of focus. I hope you can enjoy the MOC anyways! Edited to add some better/adjusted pictures.
  12. Ha, nice idea with the vacuum! The SNOT background is great, it looks like a stormy sky, which is cool.
  13. Cool build! I like how you're continuing the story of the Chobos.
  14. Sweet Octobus! One of my favorite parts is his eye, they look great! BTW, what is that compass on his tentacle from?
  15. The landscaping looks awesome Vlad! I like the use of the white ice cream as smoke, and the trees!
  16. Nice wolf! And the photoshop worked pretty well, although it could use a bit more light, just to make the wolf stand out more. But great job!
  17. Awesome scene! All of the vegetation and buildings are beautifully done, and the minifig posing is quite nice too! And I'm glad someone else likes to use the Gandalf torso for pirates as well!
  18. Awesome looking elephant Gunman! The parts you used to make this are very cleverly placed, and the overall shape looks great!
  19. Great build Simon! I love the way you did the antlers, and the connections that hold the body together!
  20. I'm not really sure what to think of the dwarves riding goats... I mean, dwarves are these bulky, stocky, warriors, and they're riding goats. It's kind of a disconnect. When you think of goats you don't really think warrior. My family has goats, and let me tell you, there is nothing war like about them. I much preferred the boars. But oh well, the movie still looks pretty cool.
  21. Not to go off topic, but I thought POTC was pretty much confirmed for 2017, did I miss something?... But anyways, I really hope that this is the case, and they will have new LOTR next year. As of december of last year, I was 90% sure LOTR was continuing, but now I'm thinking that it's about 50:50. It really just doesn't make sense to not continue it though. Emitting some of the main scenes, and most iconic characters/factions from the line would be ludicrous. There's SO much potential, I just can't believe that TLG would be that dense, and let that opportunity go by. That's why I'm still hopeful that it just got pushed back by the third Hobbit wave. It just wouldn't make sense to not do more LOTR. If it did get pushed back, then they probably already have the sets pretty much finalized, so it wouldn't be that long after the third Hobbit wave that we'd see them introduce the sets. If we don't see an advertisement for LOTR in the back of the Hobbit instructions though, than I'm thinking that the likelihood of it continuing is like 10% or less.
  22. The gnomes, send in the gnomes! So cool! It really looks awesome Ska (and Scarst)!
  23. Ha, nice! It's cool that you're drawing from all sorts of different fairytales as well as fantasy worlds!
  24. Looking awesome Ska! I can see the battle lust in my troops and hired gnomes eyes...
