Official Eurobricks Straightshooters List

+1 to Renegade Clone Thanks for a good trade -
Brilliant and funny! We need some Femtroopers in Episode VII if only to counter the lack of female troopers in previous episodes. I wonder if tan thighs would be taking things too far?

Just received Jabba's Sail Barge from Amazon - thanks for the heads-up lobot . Still hoping for the Rancor Pit to drop to in price.

Praiter Yed's Star Wars Customs
Praiter Yed replied to Praiter Yed's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Thanks Mr Breden. I do put quite a lot of effort into applying my decals and I'm almost never satisfied with my first attempt - but if you look carefully you can see that my patience was failing by the time I got to apply Luke's boots. Plus, white parts are always the easiest to work with imo . -
Very nicely made heads & the album cover is very funny. My only problem with it is that now I'm trying to imagine what the lyrics would be

Praiter Yed's Star Wars Customs
Praiter Yed replied to Praiter Yed's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
These customs will hopefully form part of an ongoing project. Initially I'd intended to use the normal Luke & Leia but then I started to think about what exclusive figures I'd like to see Lego produce after being slightly disappointed by the Brown Coat Han Solo this year. So, inspired by the Jung/Hildebrandt poster designs, here's my take on the twins... Luke & Leia - Poster Twins on Flickr The lightsabre hilt and blade are by BrickForge and the gun is a Modified Spy Carbine by Brickarms -
Jabba's Sail Barge reduced to £76 on Amazon - cheapest it's been yet.

@TheDrakness & CJBERRY Well yes, my nerve was well and truly touched, unfortunately my reaction to being called disingenuous is similar to that of Marty McFly when he's called 'Chicken' . From the response I'm no longer certain that the comment was even aimed in my direction (perhaps that should have been made clear in the original post ). As for rule breaking I haven't noticed anything regarding referral links in the BSTF Forum Guides but I suppose if there's any 'warning' to be done one of the Mods will take care of it.

I have benefited many times from savings both online and in-store by consulting this topic. I like to find good deals on Lego and I like to share them - that's what this thread is all about. Now, I can't comment about other members but any Amazon links I post would generally be through BrickBadger or BrickSet, I'm not affiliated to either of these sites so apart from the warm fuzzy feeling I get from sharing a bargain, I don't personally benefit. Reading comments like this just makes me think 'what's the point?'. Does it really matter if somebody benefits from a personal referral link when at the-end-of-day you still get cheaper Lego? If you really want to take the moral high ground, don't buy from Amazon full-stop.

SW Advent Calendar down to £19.99 on Amazon UK. Think I'll still wait 'til mid-December for mine though.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion
Praiter Yed replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Anybody finding the Grandma's to be not so rare? I don't bother feeling packets during the early days and generally buy 2 figs a week and I've ended up with FIVE of them (including one I traded for)! -
31006 Highway Speedster half price on Amazon UK - great little parts pack this one. Also spotted the £10 friends sets reduced to £2.50 in store at Asda

Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
Praiter Yed replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
The poster for the 50th Anniversary Special, Day of the Doctor can be seen here. Apparently it's going to be a 'feature-length' episode at 75 minutes - although imho 'feature-length' should mean at least 90 minutes. Also a wealth of information on the many programmes UK viewers/listeners will be treated to in November here. Lots of interesting stuff there, hopefully it will make up for the no-doubt disappointing special. -

+1 to Thomas_w Cheers -
Decided to check out B&M near work (I didn't know they sold Lego) no luck though. Then nipped in Home Bargains next door for some Haribos and found Harry Potter Characters of the Magical World, Batman Visual Dictionary and Star Wars Character Encyclopaedia for £2.99 each! Plus Creator 5891 Apple Tree House reduced from £39.99 to £22.99 and Haribo Tangtastics at only 65p

Popped in to Sainsbury's and almost all their Lego had 33% off and some sets were half price. Not much has stuck in mind... Third off SW Series 3 Planet Sets, A-Wing, Droid Escape, third off Friends Rehearsal Stage & Heartlake Pet Salon. Small Friends sets eg Stephanie's Outdoor Bakery - half price and 3 for £6 on the Series 2 Animals... lots of other reductions across all themes, might be worth checking out.

Thanks for the tips BEAVeR. I've already made some 'improvements' and I had considered a 1x3 curve for the nose (too long) but I wasn't aware of the 1x2 curve's existence. I think I'll give that a go when I can get hold of one

Posting a model of the most 'iconic' star-fighter in Star Wars is quite scary - thank you all for your nice comments ! The end of the nose is really bugging me but I'm going to go with popular opinion and leave it as is . I'm hoping to do an interpretation of the Jung/Hildebrandt posters - with a bit of added 'artistic licence'. I've already done the custom figures (hopefully I'll get chance to shoot them soon) but Vader's helmet is challenging! You're right, the wedge plate is necessary to cover some stuff, and also to hold the rest of the nose in place. I can't face it in the opposite direction because the wide end sticks up too much. Despite its inaccuracy, I like that it makes a smooth transition from the nose to fuselage. I can live with it (for now at least ). You can probably have one - The LDD image in the first post links to the LDD file (when public). TLG's has the advantage of being sturdy and easy to play with. Mine will hold up to swooshing but changing the wing configuration is a PitA! The wings can be adjusted but it's easier to slot them off the back and slot them back on than it is to alter them in situ. Plus TLG's is smaller .

I admire the way you answer the question "What is your favourite scene from the original Star Wars trilogy?' with not just one scene but multiple scenes under the umbrella of "The End". There's just so much to love about this MOC. The greebling on the Death Star surface is ace, you've captured the action of ships escaping the explosions very well and I really like Darth Vader's pyre. just brilliant. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks Yes, the wings are too short - I decided 6 stud wings would be too long but I've only just realised that I could just add and extra 1x3 plate at the start of the wing and use the 1x2 plate with clip to connect it. Can't believe I didn't think to do it already . Cheers

This will be part of a much larger vignette which will incorporate multiple scales and custom figures. For that I'll be borrowing ideas from other builders, eg Beaver's excellent micro X-Wing, and initially this was supposed to be based heavily on Stardusty's design with just a few of my own 'additions'. Sadly, I ended up losing all the things I really liked about Stardusty's X-Wing ... The big engine vents, the cannons and the hexagonal rear. It's going to be a while before I can really get stuck into my vignette so I've decided to show this as a separate creation. C&C and advice on any improvements will be gladly received (I'm kind of wishing Fallen Angel was still around (i miss that guy))... I've already tried a few variations on the nose - I'd love to have some opinions on these...

I read a while ago that Dark Horse comics were releasing an 8 comic issue of 'The Star Wars' based on George Lucas' early drafts of the story. You can now see a preview here - I've never really been into comics but I think this looks really interesting.
