  1. 76021 Milano Spaceship Rescue is down to £47.99 on Amazon UK - don't know if it's an offer to 'jump' at but according to brickbadger.com that's the lowest it's been on Amazon so far.
  2. I was never allowed comics as kid so my super hero obsession came from cartoons - in the original 60s Spiderman cartoon Rhino never seemed much bigger than Spiderman. As for Juggernaut I know he's supposed to be big, but is he Hulk size? Same goes for The Thing and King Pin imo but no doubt my logic is flawed due to lack of comic experience. BTW in one episode of Spiderman, Rhino made a solid gold statue of himself, so maybe a chrome gold minifig Rhino would be nice .
  3. ^ I hope you win too! I'm rooting for you
  4. What a pleasant surprise to find I've won this morning, and some Star Wars figs too ! Although I'll still check the advent calendar every day, It's a shame that I will no longer awake with the excitement/anticipation of seeing if I've been picked (there's no pleasing some people!)... I need to pick somebody else to root for. Thanks again to CopMike for organising the raffle and to Sinner for technical wizardry. Good luck to everybody else, I'll be rooting for one of you.
  5. Thanks for the positive feedback on the 'Budget Super Hero' pics - I think I could do one more. @Adnan - The Minimate Groot works surprisingly well. I always think Minimates look pretty cool but have managed to avoid buying any - I don't want to cause a new addiction! Nice to see some good quality pics of Rhino and Juggernaut, I've no doubt that I will buy them next year but personally I would prefer to see these characters as minifigs.
  6. Thanks for this - I was about to ask if anyone had info on LEBQ, they're all over eBay in the UK at the moment. I was watching my son put stickers on some Decool TMNT skateboards at the weekend, it was great to feel like I didn't need to intervene like I do when he puts stickers on Lego! Then I spotted the bad guy's (don't know his name) silver Skateboard and had the idea for this Silver Surfer picture, which then gave me the idea for the next shot (I'm easily amused)... I received the SY set of four vehicles with Batman of Zur-en_arrh etc this morning but will be Christmas before I get to 'play with it'
  7. Of course I want more Lego for Christmas... ...but I will be given aftershave, booze and socks as usual! Thanks for running this Christmas raffle for another year CopMike!
  8. A vast improvement over series 12! Ming the Merciless and the Sheriff are must haves for me and I'm really keen on getting hold of that guys wood (insert Sid James style laugh), some nice printed wood tiles will come in handy for MOCs. The cobra also looks ace!
  9. How many figures did you get for your $15? Doesn't eBay's return policy state that you would have to pay to return the goods? It might not be worth the effort and expense returning them in the end. I own quite a collection of bootleg minifigs and rather than being cheap knock-offs, the quality is comparable to the Lego CMF range - if you are happy with the quality of the figures, keep them. Then have a read of this thread where all the bootleg lovers hang out .
  10. I would never have thought to sell them - people will buy anything! I've had a couple of bootleg figs with loose hands and found that one of the spares fits better so they can be handy (no pun intended) occasionally. Has anyone tried fitting the hands to Lego figs? - Do they fit? There're loads of figs on that picture of the game characters that tkkim79 posted that I'd love to see in Lego/Bottleg form. I'm desperate for more X-Men and when I'm not thinking about how big King Pin should be I'm dreaming of having a proper old skool Electro - in fact give me ALL the old Spiderman villains none of that Ultimate stuff!
  11. @ jangosolo, I've sent you a PM. ^ It's true that the Super Heroes theme is lacking vehicles, but to my mind that's already apparent in the larger sets - how many variations of helicopters or motor cycles have we seen so far? Frankly it's up to Lego to be creative and figure out what would sell - I'd buy them even if they came with a variety of random vehicles like the bootleg ones (some of them are hilarious). Or, they could go down the route of some of the really old SW sets where you built a small scene, ultimately I just want a Super Hero minifig at a reasonable price, who cares what the bricks make. Does anybody ever build the little scenes that come with Sheng Yuan figures? I'm not even sure what to do with the parts (bin them, give them away) - although I love the orange leaf pieces that come with the F4 set - I'll even let them live in my Lego box.
  12. According to eBay terms you're allowed to use "Compatible with..." or "Fits Lego" but bizarrely you're not allowed to say "Not Lego". I had some Decool TNMT figs pulled and I re-listed with absolutely no mention of Lego whatsoever, I even went as far as to call them 'Mini Action Figures' - I manged to sell them on the same day as they were originally up for sale and for the price I wanted - felt a bit smug about that. I've also had listings for Batman of the Future (Batman Beyond) and Odin removed possibly for saying 'fits Lego' but wierdly all the other items I had for sale weren't targeted even though the listings were similar. I decided to have some fun with my Human Torch hair while I'm waiting for his replacement arm... Almost Purist Ghost Rider on Flickr
  13. ^ Thanks, I also would need to update my game system to play. One of these... "MC999 Listing policy violation alert: Copyright Violation - Unauthorized Item"? And is anyone really going to email Lego's Legal department to find out why it's been pulled? I mean who wants to give them their email address. If Lego want to stop bootlegs they need to get them at the source. Or, how about changing their sales strategy for the SH theme? Super Heroes is arguably the most character driven Lego theme and the most copied. So, why not release more small, affordable sets and produce as many characters as possible, or put more minifigs in bigger sets, or introduce a sub-theme similar to the SW planet sets / micro-fighters? There's enough variety in the comic book world to release multiple variants of the same character year in and year out and if more affordable Lego Super Heroes sets were available maybe people would be less likely to buy copies. I know I would.
  14. Wow, I was sort of joking but secretly hoped someone would do it - Cheers . You got miles more than me and all I can add is that i think next to Mysterio (Row 8) is Shocker.
  15. I was about to comment on the previous topic but I think i would just end up ranting! That's a nice image but I think I only recognise about 60% of them . Is anyone willing to do a list . Coincidentally I was contemplating just the other day on whether King Pin should be a minifig or bigfig - I'd definitely buy one of those. Also why is the Statue of Liberty there - is it a reference to Mystique in X-Men?
  16. I've only ever had good experiences with the sellers on eBay (and I think I've had problems with around 4 orders), are the awkward sellers on AE or have I just been 'lucky'? I had a SY Falcon delivered with broken wings, asked seller for replacement wings, received a Decool Hawkeye in the post about two weeks later, pointed out the sellers error and got a complete SY Falcon in the post after another two weeks . As Jango Solo says, It's unbelievable how they can ship these around the world for less than the domestic postage price. If you want to post a bigfig in the UK you're looking at at least £2.95 and yet I got the SY F4 set delivered from China for £4 inclusive! Bidders on eBay have gone crazy recently though, must be due to Christmas.
  17. My set was delivered at the weekend with the same problem . Seller has offered £1 refund or a replacement arm - of course I've asked for the arm, fingers crossed I get the 'right' one . Other than that I'm hugely impressed with this set, especially the Silver Surfer and I like the big Thing in the flesh much more than Decool's version - I didn't think I would from only seeing pictures. My son has laid claim to most of these figures, so I'm going to have to buy another set for myself! I realised the other day, whilst collecting together all the spare bootlegs my son wasn't interested in and sealing them in grip-seal baggies, that I've become as obsessed with collecting fake Lego as I am with actual Lego. This thread with it's constant updates, links and pictures is largely responsible for my downfall, so (with slight sarcasm) cheers guys!
  18. Some people enjoy the 'crappy lightsaber effects' & 'hover "field"'. Some people want to see the film they saw in their youth, warts and all. Plus, Star Wars is a film of historical significance - it should be preserved and presented in its original format. Do you also think that other old films should have 'enhancements'? For example, Jason and the Argonauts could have some cgi skeletons added because the current ones look a bit fake...
  19. IMHO roughly 50% of Doctor Who since it returned in 2005 has been mediocre to say the least but much of the remaining 50% has been good to brilliant! The beauty and trouble with Doctor Who is that it can be anything, so an episode one person loves another might hate. Personally I feel the 45 minute framework doesn't quite work, lots of stories seem to have a really good set-up only to be ruined by seemingly rushed endings, magic bush & golden arrow being good examples (although, I thought the Robin Hood episode was hilarious (Doctor Who does Monty Python)). That said, as someone old enough to have started watching DW when Jon Pertwee was still around, the old format wasn't brilliant either - too much repetitive chase & capture rather than getting to the bones of the storytelling. Obviously it's 45 minutes so that it can be sold abroad and have adverts slotted in (is that what BrickG means by made for the masses?) but maybe an extra 10 minutes per episode would leave room for better resolutions (if the Sopranos & Game of Thrones can get away with 55 minutes why not DW?).
  20. Spotted 76001 The Bat Vs Bane Tumbler chase in my local Asda & the one near where I work for £25 - so might be worth a look in an Asda near you? Also some really good reductions on Amazon UK at the moment, especially on Super Heroes & Star Wars - too many to list.
  21. I prefer to use eBay because I can pay with PayPal but if I must use EA I'd prefer to do everything by making one payment only, for very specific reasons that I don't want or need to discuss here. I was really only enquiring if anybody had had issues with Customs & Excise payments. Thanks.
  22. ^^ Thanks for the reply - think I'll risk it then. Maybe I was unlucky with the BL order but it forced me to look up the regs on imports and as I understand it anything you buy from abroad for over £15 could be charged VAT by customs and excise - that's not so bad, it's the Royal Mail's rip off 'handling charge' that's the killer. I think whether you get charged or not basically depends on whether the person checking the package is having a good or bad day. Certainly put me off buying stuff from abroad and I've always limited my eBay orders to less than £15, although I noticed that any bootlegs coming from China have always been marked as 'commercial samples' on the customs forms.
  23. Question for the UK buyers here: Seeing as the main source for reasonably priced bootlegs on eBay just seems to have disappeared, I've decided to finally take the plunge and buy from AE. I'm thinking of making one biggish order for everything I need and wondered if any of you have ever had any problems with additional Customs charges? (I had a BL order from the US once and was hit with VAT from Customs & Excise and an additional £8 handling fee from Royal Mail for an order that was barely over £15 ).
  24. ^There's something utterly compelling about those figs in the link - maybe they're so bad they're good? - I want that Wolverine hair! I assumed SY Black Widow is based on the Avengers Assemble cartoon - it's a reasonable match apart from the hair being the wrong colour. Maybe the comic book experts will put me right though. Quality is as good as you'd expect from SY . Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the design of that set, but they're worth buying for the big Hulk which is even better than Lego's imho (although the one I received had two left hands ). Edit: Also The Falcon is a really good fig with some ace guns.
  25. Amazon UK has... 75039 V-Wing, 75048 Phantom & 75041 Vulture Droid reduced by 38% to £12.31
