  1. Nice use of a Dewback head
  2. These are great! I also like 'Mop Head' but the octopus guy is outstanding
  3. I hope it's acceptable to make a double post to announce that my crew is now fully assembled. I may find the time to take a better group shot though.
  4. Madame Cheng does look creepy, but I thought that was a good thing. Also I imagined that she had Sebulba legs due to transplanted alien body parts - even more creepy
  5. Ha ha, yes, I'm also making the most of the good weather to get some reasonable shots! - I would have been well into my dark-age when that 'Aquazone' theme was released - I didn't even know it existed! Well, it's a great helmet and you've made perfect use of it
  6. Nice start and great photographs! Where is the helmet from on the second character? - That's a great headpiece.
  7. Great part combinations - especially the Voodoo Witch Droid and Madame Cheng (using Sebulbas 'legs' is a fantastic idea!), I really like Captain Feathers too but was a little disappointed to see him as I've also done a 'Birdman'
  8. Nice - I like Deadward Breach the best especially is fire whip - I'm always envious of anyone who owns those interconnecting flame pieces! Well done on the humorous back-stories too
  9. Thanks for the feedback guys . Two Four more characters added, 'Mermaid' & BERyL updated.
  10. Original Post and edits: A couple of (Four) (All) the 'characters' from the pirate ship 'The Ragged Tiger', more info and figs (group shot) to follow... Thanks to Bob De Quarte and anyone else at EB involved in running/hosting the contest - I've had great fun making these figs And now introducing the crew of The Ragged Tiger... B.E.R.—yL: BIO ELECTRICAL ROBOTIC LIFEFORM? This Bio-Electrical Robot become sentient when its organic circuits were overloaded with too much information. The crew of The Ragged Tiger affectionately call her Beryl because of her barrel shaped torso and old ladies' gait. Euryale Euryale, an aquatic creature from Ceto Prime still wears the chain from when she was held captive by The Union Of The Snake. Her breathing apparatus draws water from the atmosphere and pumps the condensed liquid into her helmet. P.O.L. aka Pretty Polly Stolen/rescued from an Imperial laboratory this Prototype Organic Lifeform is nicknamed Pretty Polly by the crew of The Ragged Tiger. All she wants is to leave her pirate life behind and settle down on an ordinary world. Captain Rio Coupled with her crazy war paint, the fact that Captain Rio approaches every raid with a view to a kill has led the crew of The Ragged Tiger to believe her mind has completely come undone, but she remains an excellent tactician and rules her crew with an iron fist - literally! Jake Sissken aka Captain Cliché Former leader of The Wild Boys and pioneer of the notorious skin trade, Sissken's downfall was driven by his infamy and desire to look like the most pirate-like pirate in the galaxy. He soon became addicted to surgical deminishment, removing more body parts than was truly neccessary and hideously disfiguring himself in the process. The crew of The Ragged Tiger call him Captain Cliché but never to his face. He would give his right leg to captain his own ship again but is more likely to give up his shipmates instead! Simon Lee Bone Abducted from planet Earth to replace their former cabin boy (who was accidentally jetisoned), Simon Lee Bone's duties onboard The Ragged Tiger include swabbing the decks and entertaining the crew with his songs about their exploits (like the one about the time captain Rio danced on the sands of Poseidon IV). He harbours a desire to return to Earth and fulfil his dream of joining a band.
  11. A beautiful recreation of a childhood favourite
  12. Thanks guys, I'm glad you like the dunes, I would have loved to make them more 'epic' but I maxed out my collection of tan slopes. Below is a picture of an earlier version (and overhead view of the final one) showing some fairly poor dune-age, luckily this was destroyed in a dusting incident before I had chance to properly photograph it
  13. Received my package yesterday - the lack of a chicken box made the surprise sweeter. Took me a moment to figure out why I was receiving a padded envelope from Sweden - 'I don't remember ordering something from Sweden, have I done a trade with someone in Sweden... Ahhhh ". As always a huge thanks to Cop Mike for this... C-3PO and Jawa will go in my SW display frame & my son will get Chopper. I'm desperate to know what the extra figure is that some people will receive.
  14. Updated 1st post to include my second Gunslinger vignette - it's only taken a year! Also if possible can a Mod please change the title to 'The adventures of Roland the Gunslinger'? I will be adding more vignettes, hopefully before the world moves on, but unlike mccoyed's excellent, all encompassing series I will be aiming to make only four (or possibly six) vigs from the first, one from the second and maybe one from the third books - in no particular order... The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed on flickr
  15. So true - but you read horrible stories about torsos cracking when you remove the arms - especially on the cheaper Chinese plastic figs. I have to keep 'my' minifigs away from prying little fingers - I steal my kids Lego figs - they get bootleg replacements I've seen the Louis Lane heads in both Liverpool & Manchester stores I bought 10 for 25p each. I think Robianco did well to find the torsos too but then it is quite nondescript, not like finding an Ironman or something mixed in there... although I did also pick up a few AOTC Amidala torsos from a BAM, again 25p each. Thanks for the comparison pic
  16. ^ That's pretty much what I was thinking of doing except I need to get some of that Lego red hair. I was in the Liverpool Lego store a few months back and they had loads of flesh Lois Lane heads in the BAM, I saw a woman putting some of that red hair on one and I couldn't find it anywhere! She would have had a shock if she'd turned around and seen the look I was giving her! I've been wondering how the red hair from Ariel would look on the comic/cartoon SY Black Widow.
  17. Thanks for the positive feedback . Although you may want to edit your posts to remove the picture as quoting images in posts (at least on the same page as the original) is generally 'frowned upon' @Zhagas: I'm actually surprised at how well the the green matches this decool version, I've got the Sheng Yuan set on order so will probably try on that when it arrives. BUT you would seriously remove the arms from your official version!? - If i owned that it would be double zip-locked and never see the light of day. @MinifigureHQ: My mate is not a FOL so he might not have that mind-set of yellow being a Lego skin tone. He commented on my display of SW figs that he'd like something similar, so I think he'll appreciate this more as a piece of wall art rather than a collection of official minifigs.
  18. I don't think I'd have even realised The Thing didn't have a printed belt previously, but now I have to get one. I sold a F4 set recently so I'm wishing I'd known to check it before hand I'd appreciate some opinions on this if possible, I'm collecting more X-Men bootlegs to make a display frame for a mate. My aim is to make them as comic-book as possible due to him being an obsessive collector. I've tried the Minifigure Series 12 Pizza Guy arms on Jean Grey to give the impression of her long yellow gloves - not sure if it works or not? I think the AFOL part of my brain is still interpreting it as short sleeves and bare arms even though she's got a flesh head...
  19. I made these Planet of the Apes figs ages ago but was unhappy with the decal application. However, when I found them recently I decided that although not perfect, they are not as bad as I originally thought. I had also made four alternative face designs and an astronaut version of Taylor but these were ruined by the kids before the decals had dried ! The surviving version of Taylors Face (pictured) was supposed to represent when he says "Get your stinking paws off me...".
  20. Updated my trading post with some S12 & S13 figs and more 'wants'
  21. Bizarrely all of the designs supplied with that particular helmet looked ridiculous, but which version of Captain Americas head are you using there? - It looks different to the one you pictured here.
  22. ^ Congrats Sir Brickalot - I was beginning to think my support was jinxing you ! Good luck to all remaining entrants...
  23. I accidentally bought the LEBQ versions off eBay the other day - came from a UK seller who had lots of SY figs for sale and a lapse of concentration caused me to bid. I will report back when I receive them. Sorry to drag this topic back but it seems I must eat some humble pie - I've just bought DKs Marvel Encyclopedia for my daughter and it contains the following 'useful' information: Hulk - 7' Juggernaut - 6' 10" King Pin - 6' 7" Rhino - 6' 5" Spiderman - 5' 10" Venom - 6' 2" The Thing - 6' So, yes, Juggernaut is pretty much Hulk size . I still think Rhino is debatable though EDIT: I actually like the girls torso design - it's got a kind of retro 70's cartoon thing going on.
  24. ^ Agreed, except the S1 Zombie could help sales, especially if someone is willing to sell as separate figures or the price is low enough for the lot. Last time I looked S1 Zombies were selling for around £15, I imagine they're more now.
