Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Praiter Yed replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
^^ I should make the effort to have a look - I almost never go on Lego ideas ^ I haven't been able to find the Doll figs on eBay or AliExpress and I'd like to get my hands on one of those Dark Phoenix'. Hopefully they'll show up soon or another/better brand will start making them. -
Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Praiter Yed replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
@Jangosolo and agoodfella imho those brick-built Hulk busters are miles better than the bootleg versions . I think it was in this topic that I read the bootleg HBs were based on the Lego Super Heroes Video game (?) even so, I find it too non-Lego-ish. My son owns this which I think it would complement nicely - surely we don't need bootleg Mega Bloks ? -

Very nice and excellent presentation. Who knows, maybe if we saw a spinner in daylight it would be bright blue . -
Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

When i first started buying bootleg figs it seemed that every set i bought had either a Decool or SY Deadpool included, I ended up with about five! I sold most of them on eBay but I just had to keep this one, which i think is a mis-printed Decool figure (or maybe it's another brand and someone here can put me right?)... I bought a Hulk minifig described as 'genuine Lego' photo was too blurry to tell so I took a punt on it - turned out to be Decool. The seller claimed that they didn't know and refunded me, and let me keep the figure . I've found that most of the eBay sellers are honest, but I've seen a few UK sellers trying to pass off bootlegs as real Lego. I even spotted someone listing the Bohzi Spidecycle Chase as Lego 76004! -
I'm sure one word comments are against EB rules but all I can think to say is... lovely!

I started a series of Gunslinger vignettes a while ago but so far have only completed one , if I find the time to continue I suspect we'll have some crossovers. You've got some nice little vigs here but for me The Way Station really stands out - great use of the wood patterned tiles on the roof. Imho some of the pictures in your flickr are better than the ones you've posted here. Looking forward to the next one. Slightly off topic: I haven't read the final book due to fear of disappointment - should I read it?

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

That's good advice especially as I'm not interested in the MoS figs, and the rest of them should be easier to swap out. Think I'll jump after all, cheers. -

I've bought loads of these over the last few months so that my son can play with them without throwing me into a state of panic. I actually considered the health risks and apart from the usual choking hazard I decided that they would be fine. I grew up in the 70's when nobody cared what was in plastic toys and that doesn't seem to have caused any adverse effects on me . Although I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality, I would say that they're probably better displayed than played. I've found that arms pop-off fairly easily on both Sheng Yuen and Decool figs, hands seem to drop off on some figs and the print on my sons Iron Man wore off in a matter of days leaving only some gold highlights. The beauty of them is that they are so easily and cheaply replaced, the fact that he lost the Hulk's hair within two days and that I don't care about that, is very liberating for both of us. But I digress, I was posting to ask a question... I've been looking at the Sheng Yuen Superman series (Superman, Man of Steel, Clark Kent, Black Suit Superman, Zod, Bizarro, Cyborg Superman, Jor-El) can anybody confirm what the legs are like on that set please? The box art seems to show 'normal' Lego style legs but the only images of actual figs I've managed to find show the legs with the tapered feet. -
I also read those articles and I think that despite sounding surprisingly cool the plot details are probably just a fake rumour created by JJ Abrams to put us off the scent . Anyway, why would Luke's hand and lightsabre be floating in space? Vader's arm & Lightsabre makes more sense. EDIT: removed spoilers now that this is being openly discussed.

Some Advice needed...Cloud City Moral Dilemma.
Praiter Yed replied to DuckBricks's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It seems that you have been very generous with your Lego in the past but sadly If you give something it is rude to ask for it back. How would you feel if your cousins asked for their gifts back? Also consider that if your friend gave Cloud City back he may come out of his dark age in the future and ask you for 'his' Lego. Your best option would be to be honest with your friend and offer to buy it back for a fair amount. There's a very good chance that once you make the offer he will give it you anyway (unless he's really in need of some cash). -

Added some Lego Movie Minifigs to my list and also some incomplete S4 Soccer Players - ideal if anyone is putting a team together I'm keen to get hold of a Velma Staplebot. -
Sainsbury's (Warrington) had 25% off 75034 Death Star Troopers and 75037 Battle on Saleucami.

I thought maybe Luke would be the Obi-Wan character, I'm half expecting him to get killed someone to shout 'nooooo' and JJ Abrams to persuade John Williams to tinkle his piano keys so that we all know it's an emotional moment. Max Von Syndow is a really pleasant surprise though, brilliant actor, hopefully he'll be portraying Ming The Merciless .

Interesting topic, I've been tempted to buy some of these knock-offs from eBay so that I can make a display in a frame. From reading the comments I'm thinking that I might just do it. I've seen some Star Wars fakes for sale but i don't know if the Cloud City Boba Fett is one that they are producing. It's difficult to make a good judgement because the pictures are so blurred but if you zoom in and look at the print on the legs you'll see a very fine vertical line running down the left of the graphics - I'd say this was the edge of a decal. ^ Beaten me to the answer but I feel better that two of us feel the same. Still, the torso and arms could be genuine but images are too blurred to see the arms.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

^ €7 seems a reasonable price to pay - if Lego release a new version are you really going to look back and wish you didn't spend €7? Unless we get a Yavin IV base, you'd think Biggs would most likely appear in an X-Wing set, although it's pretty much impossible to second guess TLG I can't imagine there being another new X-Wing any time soon. They had the perfect opportunity to release a new Biggs with the micro-fighter but instead we got an incredibly detailed random pilot, can Legos' graphic designers manage to keep up that level of detail and include Biggs' magnificent moustache in such a small area? I doubt we'll get a new Biggs soon but I'm usually wrong If I were you, I'd buy it and make a custom fleshie like Snowspeeder Pilot/Tin 7 creations did. -
Sainsbury's (Warrington) had plenty The Hobbit: TDOS blu-rays with the free 30215 Legolas Greenleaf polybag for £12.99. They also had 76002 Superman Metropolis Showdown @ £7.99, 76009 Superman Black Zero Escape @£9.99 and sadly an empty shelf labeled 76000 Arctic Batman vs Mr Freeze... at £9.99

Smyths are having a "Massive Toy Sale!". Seems that Hobbit & LOTR might be the best Lego deals there too, but I haven't looked at all themes.
