  1. Something is definitely wrong in your installation of the LDraw parts library or LDCad. However, when reading the documentation of LeoCad, it seems the installer comes bundled with its own LDraw parts library and thus you probably never installed the library on its own as explained here. You can download the complete (official) parts library here, by pressing the 'download complete.zip' link. Extract that library somewhere where it's easy to access and you don't forget where it is. Then go to LDCad, click Prefs in the top toolbar -> Search (library) paths. There should be three paths in the list, an Official, and Unofficial and Donors. You only have to change the Official one for now. Change it's location to the root folder where you just extracted the LDraw parts. Don't change the Shadow location, those are specific files bundled with LDCad for the part snapping. Then click Accept, restart LDCad and your parts should be visible. You might also want to use the Unofficial LDraw parts. You can download those here, link for all parts is at the bottom. The usual location to extract those is at your previous mentioned root LDraw library in a new folder called 'unofficial'. Then do the same thing in LDCad as above, but for the unofficial parts. Note that the unofficial parts aren't a must, but there might be parts in there you want to use. But remember they're unofficial and thus they might include slight errors. Hope that helps AIOI is not gonna work in Linux I can remember there was someone who was trying to create something like the AIOI for Linux or something like that, but can't find it.
  2. Where can I even find that feature? Can't find it
  3. What exactly did you do with MPDCenter? LDD does reject certain parts, that we already figured out (via mail). However, all parts that do appear on the left side are not even in the correct position but look rotated (90 degrees?) in some way. But they look fine on the right side
  4. As far as I can tell, there's completely nothing wrong with LDraw part 3660. What exactly do you mean? Yes, certainly, and that's completely fine. No problem with working together and all, but I meant that if there are simple errors you know of, you could fix those yourself too. I'd rather have quality over quantity here. And, this isn't exactly world's most active topic on Eurobricks (no offense to all contributors ) so the chance that people will start fixing your files is slim. They rather spend their time creating their own models or just doing something else.
  5. I don't think so, I don't think LDCad is the problem here. Because there are also many, many parts which have been automatically mirrored which work perfectly fine.
  6. You know. I really appreciate the effort you put into creating these models and I know you have the best intentions . But, a bit more effort from your side would be highly appreciated. I mean, if you can't find a part or whatever, sure, but if you have misaligned parts in your model and you know it (and it's not a crazy angle, just a standard slope)... You can fix that yourself too and not just dump everything here and be like 'Good luck with it'.
  7. Well, I am the one who made the source LDraw model. For these building instructions. Renderbricks wants to render the model, but he first needs to have an LDD file to be able to import it into Mecabricks. I have not a lot of knowledge about LDD, but I think it's kinda strange how the bottom right imports just fine, but the bottom left has all kinds of problems. There are no mirrored parts (I did use LDCad's mirror functionality, but that doesn't just mirror the parts, it actually applies a transformation on the coordinates and rotation to 'physically' mirror it, so I don't think that's the problem).
  8. Well, uhm, that's weird. Well, you could do the same but with a little detour. Export the parts as Rebrickable CSV. Then import the parts into a Rebrickable 'Custom List'. Then go to that custom list and press the tab 'Buy parts'. Then press the button 'Add Parts to Bricklink Wanted List'. That should work. I'll take a look at the failing export/import tomorrow.
  9. Well, as far as I know there's not really a way to automatically update a wanted list at Bricklink (I assume you mean Bricklink's wanted list feature). You can create a new wanted list based on the non-shared parts by pressing the export button on the Rebrickable page. But that's only useful if you haven't altered the original wanted list already of course.
  10. Instructions for the TIEs are included in the instructions for the ISD. So at the moment, you can only get those by buying instructions for the full ISD. Not sure if @Raskolnikov wants to separate those in the future though, that's up to him.
  11. Mac is the hardware, but that hardware comes with only a single OS which is MacOS. So saying that people can't run it on Mac is perfectly fine. But even then, nitpicking like this doesn't add anything to the discussion anyway. Let's make it clear to everyone here: let's not start a discussion here about mac vs pc and what terminology you can and can't use. I know the internet, and I know that sooner or later this will derail otherwise. So, please stay on topic. Thanks.
  12. Yes there are indeed, haha If you have any questions about that stuff, feel free to post it here. Or you could PM me if you don't want it public.

  16. Yeah, that's true. I think the best way to build this model is to actually pick all the parts in the parts list before building that step to make sure you're not overlooking any parts.
  17. I haven't looked at the model, will do that later, but I don't think there's that much that can be colored honestly. Since the model has an interior and is rather 'thin' (single-stud wide walls, panels that are a few plates thick etc.) pretty much everything is visible. At least, I think so when trying to imagine the model from the top of my head, I might be wrong
  18. What exactly has changed? You can still upload LDD files in personal lists.
  19. Cool! Did not know you designed the 'legendary' power puller You should create a Bricklist on Brickset containing all the sets you designed (possibly with some cool backstories): link.
  20. I take it you designed that set? Or it was the first set you bought? More on-topic: hadn't seen this topic yet, but looks really cool! It's something else than the usual supercar we see pretty much daily here Your building style looks quite compact and dense (and heavy) but it looks nice and seems to work well. Gonna keep an eye on this one to see the end result
  21. Well, it's not needed here (although it is for the OMR, but the rules and expected quality are lot higher there). It's not claiming authorship of the set or design, just of the file. Just like there's a logo of a publisher on a book I think. Well, the norm here in the LDD topic is that only models are allowed if there are actual instructions available to make sure the model is built as designed. However, firstly I'm not as strict as Calabar is and secondly for such an old, simple set I don't think there's a lot that can be done wrong anyway. So I think the alternate models are fine, as long as you make sure you don't accidentally use parts that aren't actually in the set and you add a note for other people that it is an alternate model.
  22. I added LDraw numbers to the motor from set 102A on Rebrickable for you You're not the only one. I think the most often heard complaint about LDCad is about its user interface. And to be honest, it's indeed not the most pretty and slick interface in the world. But the program itself works like a charm. As far as open-source goes, you can read some of the authors' (Roland) statements here. Maybe it changed since then, but he is around here too. Maybe he'll hop by and tell you his current thoughts on it Feel free to do what you want on Bricksafe, but it's not really neccesary. Also, it looks like Leocad creates very minimal headers. A proper/official LDraw header would look like this (I removed my first and last name for the example obviously) and includes the standard LDraw license: 0 FILE 10182 - Cafe Corner.ldr 0 Cafe Corner 0 Name: 10182 - Cafe Corner.ldr 0 Author: firstname lastname [Legolijntje] 0 !LICENSE Redistributable under CCAL version 2.0 : see CAreadme.txt
  23. I appreciate the effort and your submission(s) already look much better. However, there's a hole in the back of the bus.. No offense, but I can't take a model which is missing pieces like that into the index. Also, why didn't you use the correct plates for the bottom? The parts you're looking for are 780 and 781. And if you can't find a part and build it differently than the instructions say, at least tell which parts you changed in the post so that other people know and could possibly help. And btw, if you can't find a part in LDraw, you can look up the inventory of the set on Rebrickable.com. You can then click on a part and it'll show you which LDraw number corresponds with that part (if it exists). Missing stickers aren't a problem. I don't quite like them either and most of them aren't available in LDraw anyway Best is every model in a separate file.
