  1. I am planning to make a railwaycrossing with automatic barriers using to little red 9v motors, it'll be nice for the barriers (and the traffic depending on the closure) to "know" when a train is coming. I own set 8479 with the little computer in the back that reacts when you push the touchsensors, but will it react when a lightsensor is attached to it instead? Does anybody know? It'll be pointless to bricklink a lightsensor and then find out that it doesn't work... I hope to hear from you technic experts! + = ?
  2. Hey guys, I don't know if this has been posted before, I'm not so much into castles, but I found these pictures on brickshelf, including some close-ups of the new minifigs. enjoy, The BS Gallery
  3. The electric Light Orchestra - Mr. Blue Sky
  4. Today I bought (well agreed to buy, I first have to get it at the sellers house) another train, namely the 7715. This train comes with motor (4,5 volt) and batterytender and a circular grey track included with this set originally. I bought it, once again, off my favourite Dutch marketplace for 50 euro's *sweet* I think it will run as smoothly on 9 volt tracks as it does on those old grey ones supplied.
  5. Wow! That looks great, I must get used to those fleshies.... but you made good use of tem. I like the bajonets with the rubberbands and the belts, I have tried that also a long time ago but after some time the rubberbands started to "vaporize". Maybe he faced defeat..... :-D
  6. Ahh.... wait.... *adjusts the brightness of his M700 computerscreen from 0% to 100%...* I see, those are grey pieces... still nice, still nice. :-$
  7. Can't wait to see some pictures (but I guess the minute they come out they'll be all over the frontpage..) and I too wonder if there are any minifigs. Probably not, because the scale is 1/300 and legominifigs are way bigger than that.
  8. That is the best use of that new (and quite ugly) baseplate I have seen so far, it looks wonderful! Is there a Brickshelf account involved Mr. Bonaparte? I'd like to take a look at it.
  9. This sure looks like a promising ship mr. ZCerberus! You must own a lot of tile-pieces being able to construct an entire hull out of them, I like the design, it looks pretty complicated and I wonder how sturdy it's going to be when finished. The mast looks great. I assume that when it gets higher it's also getting slimmer working towards the top and will be supplied with some giant yard-arms. When I look at the pictures it looks like you are making some rails to slide the decks open, is that true? And what pieces did you use to make the silver (?) accents on top of the bow? Keep it up and keep us updated! *y*
  10. Thanks for sharing this with the community. I like the way the thing is build in the little movie, that must have been a lot of work filming it... I don't really see in what way this "castle" is different from the two others we had before, just some more tan half-towerpieces and green cones. This set has all the things I've missed in Harry Pottersets the past years, namely the fact that when you put all the sets together you still can't make a realistic (like in the film) looking castle. It stays a bunch of opened playsets with some nice features inside but not enough to get me interested. I'm sure though that when you are a real Harry Potter-lego-fan you'll be overjoyed with the things this set has to offer. :-/
  11. Only problem after removal of the keychain remains the big Lego logo on the back of the fig which can't be concealed by putting on bodyarmours among other things, because the head is still solidly glued....
  12. I like the water in the first two entries (Sir Nadroj and 007) They have my votes. Nice chandelier 007! In your entry you show that there is a nice way of combining the older grey with the newer tones. In sir Nadroj's creation I like the fact that one of the houses is placed in an angle, it breaks the squareness- impression lego sometimes makes. Keep up the good work.
  13. Nice Tower! We don't get to see many Wolfpack-creations, this one fits well next to the only castle lego ever made for the Wolfpack-people. I like the little fireplace and the way the little tan pieces on the blue baseplate make a nice transition from the rocks to the surrounding water. *y*
  14. Today I found a 4519 train crossing in the old grey colour it first came out in! MISB, quite rare to find a set that is eight years old in this touristic city I live in. :-)
  15. You have corrected me while I was wrong *sweet* ... thanks, I got confused.
  16. I believe all sets issued in 2001 or later have the newer colors (correct me if I'm wrong), so that includes the 2003 highspeed train 4511.
  17. I bought the 10205 My Own Train Large locomotive with tender, black version off my favourite online Dutch marketplace. It includes a motor, but sadly no stickers or original instructions. Got to Bricklink those together. Great, great choice! *y* I bought it some weeks ago and it's beauty still amazes me.... Next challenge is finding the Railroad Clubcar (4547 or re-release) for a reasonable price somewhere, I haven't succeeded yet.
  18. I like your clip, a bit short bu that's okay. With only fifteen seconds to be musically filled I think you did a good job, I personally prefer Marty Robbins' El paso but in this case it would not have worked out. Nice westerntown and that great steamtrain (I am anxiously waiting for mine to arrive in the post). Keep filmin' *y*
  19. the Imperial Trading Post is a great set, the merchant boat is of pure beauty but the structure of the buildings is quite simple (using a lot of wall-pieces). So if you really want a good build-up model I would go for the Eldorado Fortress, it has more soldiers and more bricks. The imperial Trading Post has more plates and yellow arches and of course three cannons instead of two. In the end however I would suggest you buy them both and put them next to eachother with the little harbour in between. I leave the tough decission of deciding which one to buy first up to you >8-)
  20. That is a fantastic review, made some time ago but still... I never really wanted this ship, it's a nice model, but I prefer the cars. However maybe for the classic feeling I should have bought it when it was on sale in Cologne Germany two years ago for only 25 euro's. Too late now. About those cars: I believe there has been a blue Renault too, quite large with those bigger windows as headlights, and some sort of formula one racing car in this serie of collector models. See below. I came across the red Cadillac a few years ago in a toy-cars-shop (where they sell Matchbox and Burago and such) it was sitting on a shelf next to all those metal model cars, already built and in brand new condition. What a find. This one I bought immediately!
  21. Great work, I love Adventurers Destert MOC's. It has the 1998 feel to it. Those brown rocks certainly do the trick, something different than the old grey ones. Nice car too, but... weren't there four of those satues next to each other in Abu Simbel? :-)
  22. Thank you! I did try the Ford Mustang: after a lot of work an effort it looked like a reasonable car, just not a Mustang.... It's the headlights and especially the taillights that ll'do the trick but they are tough to make.
  23. Nice topic, I missed this one too. My name.... what more can I say: Simon = my first name Willems = ...guess........ *sweet*
  24. Thanks for the technical explanations, you show that it is also possible to build dieseltrains with those big wheels next to steam-engines, that is great work! I am very seriously thinking about buying a set of Big Bens wheels, they look so good... :-)
  25. Thanks for all the nice and kind words, it's making me blush behind my computerscreen... :-$ I like the idea of putting red lego-print bricks instead of the dark grey ones, I must have them somewhere in red... Got to find out where I put them... I knew something was not completely right with that backside, so I made it longer, but maybe your right, Asuka, and shortening it will be the solution. I'll go and try that when I get back to my Lego. I had some hard times trying to make those Legoland style figures (I think I'm better of making their vehicles) and the only fig I ultimately came up with was this chap. I see you are a more succesful "creator of men" X-D
