Good point, good point.... I might have overlooked that, expecting an AFOL -
Axle can't choose between.........
simonwillems replied to Axle's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Some pictures/hyperlinks would be nice (Bricklink is extemely slow these days...!) for us to help you make up your mind. If I were you I would not choose anything but buy them all! How's that? These are not the most expensive sets around and they are sufficiently available in every toystore. :-) -
What is the deal with shop.lego.com?
simonwillems replied to Siegfried's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I don't know about the availability in "Chair" but here in The Netherlands that MTT is already available in normail toystores for about two weeks now. Perhaps you could go out and buy it somewhere? :-) -
That is a great fort! Almost an entire city actually. I never realised that the whole thing consisted out of two large parts, I thought just one was already outstanding. Good work *y* If only I had so many white bricks.... X-O

Aqua-raiders ending?
simonwillems replied to xbloodyfangs's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I can't say I regret it that much, the only nice thing Aquaraiders brought was the underwater wreckage of a pirateship.... I am a great fan of the Divers, so I wouldn't mind seeing them emerge (from the deep :-P ) again. -
That is so sad. This man has left the world of AFOL's a great set, a good thing he expierienced the release of his set just on time. My thoughts too are with his family.

That is, in a nutshell, the most important thing! All those drawers doesn't make things easier sometimes, after you've been away for some time and return home to your collection you get lost in your drawers.... :-/

Very nice building, with good looking colour-combinations! I like that fence the way it is now, it looks just as robust as a real fence ought to look, I would leave it just as it is. Nice touch with the lantern. My only point of criticism involves the windmill, I believe it is taken directly from set 6444 Outback Airstrip (what a great set it was!), it just doesn't seem to do your MOC justice. Perhaps with some modifications, like replacing this part by this one. Otherwise: Great! :-)

I haven't voted yet, tough decission this one: they are all as ugly as hell.... In what set does the Sandy Moondust minifig appear by the way? -Edit: got it, she was cramped up in a small polybag being a set itself, 3928 :-D

I like these storage-topics... It seems like every country has it's own systems, I am looking for some flip-out bins but here in Holland they are nowhere to be found. Or does anybody know of any? the system I use myself consists of small see-through drawers (dividing possibilities) stacked in a beautifully red painted structure. Have a look here and here These drawers have limited space, especially the small ones can get pretty full soon, but if one keeps sorting (to colour eventually) it stays do-able. You just need hundreds of drawers... I am still extending the number of drawers (I own 249 right now), the latest row hasn't been added to my gallery yet. They're being sold at Praxis stores in Holland and are quite expensive. It amazes me that they keep producing this system, most useful things stay around in shops for a few months and than dissapear for good like business seems to be going in our consumption society.

Is this true? I have not heard anything about it yet.... I do not hope Paris took the title of this thread to literally. 8-|

I chose the Blue Coats. Why? Because the first pirateset I ever had included one (6245 Harbor Sentry), got it back in 1990.... *y*

Nice find, but in my opinion not really worth the effort of visiting that certain supermarket. :-)

Wow, sooner than I had expected, thanks for pointing it out!

Nice little build, just get rid of the blue Pod... *sweet*

So you gave it a three, Mr. Reviewer.... hmmm. I really like this little ship for some reason. Being one of the smaller crafts in the pirateship-collection I was surprised by the details it came with: a compass, two sails and more weapons than minifigures. The sail of my copy (from Bricklink) has been ironed a tad bit too long by the former owner leaving a circular black/brown spot on the middle of the canvas. (It looks like your front sail, Mr. Tiber, could use some ironing, just not too long....) A while ago I made some decks inside the hull of this little ship and a helm, but those modifications are long gone now and the ship stands in it's original pride somewhere in my parents house. I like these reviews.

Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
simonwillems replied to Mr. Smee's topic in LEGO Pirates
That's quite a good idea, that also is going to cost you between $250-$500, just take a good look at the pictures and let your imagination take over. :-)- 502 replies

I had to look that one up (you americans with your silly abbreviations... ;-) ) Google turned up with: Sacramento California, never too old to learn I guess. "-There's something about the weather; that everybody loves; they call it the Indian Spring of Sacramento-"

Welcome Sinner! (any reason in particular for chosing that name?) Quite an introductory story to begin your Eurobricks carreer with I must say, but nice to know something about our new users. What a great idea to claim back your Legocollection! Mostly when Lego is sold/given to somebody else it's gone, but you have been really lucky. You have actually made the first version of the 7075 ship that I truely like, it shows that one can even make something nice with the 4+ Piratesets. Great achievement! Enjoy your time here.

Welcome Artemis Fowl to our friendly forums! The purpose of the "Hello my name is..." thread is for users to get to know the new members, so just post the things we are urging to know about you in this thread instead of Personal Mailing everybody seperately. So, Artemis Fowl: What are your favourite themes in Lego, where do you live, how old are you and how did you came across this forum? Tell us about yourself! I'm sure you'll enjoy your time here. :-)

You are right! I overlooked that, great sheet! I don't think so, the stickers from the ideabooks are always meant to be put on legomeodels themselves, there are some big stickers there that are more suitable for mom and dad's rear car windows... I own some of those stickersheets myself (not the pirate-one :-| ) and they were just promotional items brought out by Lego to be handed out for free in retailshops. As a retailer you had the opportunity to decorate your shop with those promotionals, I have some old retailer-only catalogues which actually show how your shop was supposed to look like when introducing a new theme (quite funny). Stickers like that were part of those extra's.

I had to choose between the Sea Serpent and the Emperor's ship.... It became... The Emperor's ship: great little ship with lots of hullpieces, a nice big cargohold with some barrels and diamonds inside, nice Chinese people and a great sail. All of this from the best theme of the post-pirates era: Adventurers. I do not own the Sea Serpent but it's high on my list despite the fact that I am not much of a castle lover. *sweet*
