  1. This is such a great idea! I saw it long ago somewhere on brickshelf and my favourite back then and right now is the Snow Look. :-)
  2. Please do, I'd appreciate that!
  3. What do you mean? I am a town builder and I think It is fantastic! Great complicated design on such a small model with interesting building techniques, I love it *wub* !
  4. Sorry, I meant the 1800-1830 time period :-$
  5. I think with some alterations you can certainly make this house look like it was built between 1800-1830. First: remove the white and yellow things above the windows (of course!) and next I would change the windows on the first floor to bigger ones, putting two of the attic windows on top of each other to create one large one would be good, I think. I also think it would look nice to add some facades on each side of the corner "tower" I searched for some pictures of buildings of that time period and found this one (it's a shame to see what humanity did to it, putting all those commercial signs on the roof....)
  6. I won this on ebay yesterday, always useful...
  7. Fantastic design! Good colorscheme, nice details on the horses *y* I like the way you made the Queen, with the indians hairpiece and the little crown. *wub* The only thing that looks a bit out of place, I think, is the firebrigade basket on the back. :-)
  8. I was also surprised to see it between the recently-posted-in threads again! It was great to make this city and to find out that the things you do automatically in a real-time city (like placing roadsigns, laying out roadplates and using certain windows in houses) had to be reconsiderd because of the time the city is placed in. You should visit Amsterdam, it is (in my opinion) the most beautiful city there is.... *y* The new Cafe Corner set has a 1910-1920 feel about it, so for an MOC of a city of the golden age I wouldn't use it. In other Neighbourhoods here in Amsterdam (Oud Zuid or Oud West for the insiders) it will fit wonderful, I come across this sort of houses everyday. Those neighbourhoods are from the 1910-1920 period and also really beautiful. The centre of Amsterdam (like I tried to build) has houses from between 1550 and 1800 B.C. those are the tall canalhouses everybody knows.
  9. When I sometimes make airplanes with "retractable" ladinggear I just take of the wheels: it saves on room on board and no complicated technical system is needed inside... :-D No seriously, it's a great idea of trying this on such a small scaled aircraft and I actually like it! :-)
  10. This looks good, I like how you made the angle in the building. As opposed to all other users I would choose yellow as colour for the statues (the little towers above them are yellow as well, aren't they?). I have few of those basic/fabuland flowers but they always make a nice addition to buildings, something that is really working on your building. :'-)
  11. Maybe we can still get it here "across the pond" because it is an American train model which is not commonly known in Europe and therefor perhaps less popular among European train collectors. But... Correct me if I'm wrong. :-)
  12. Yeah! That'll teach that mean Lego2000 creature to not pick on our new members! *y* Anyway, welcome to Eurobricks Brenden, hope you have a great time here. :-)
  13. Man... You must be having an invincible army by now X-O
  14. I couldn't care less for those Spongebobsets. :-X I consider it just fine having an ocean between me and that theme.
  15. I remember getting one of my first piratesets, the minifig pack from 1989, when it was first released. This fig. was in it, but with the blue bandana instead of the red one. Never really found good use for her though, at least not in the piratetheme.... Sometimes as a wh*re (censored for you Americans...). :-P
  16. Fire, because I really like the design of the new firestation. :-)
  17. Wow, you sure put in some time and effort to create this monorail, it looks like it runs smoothly along the track. *y* This kind of system may come in handy when you're making some kind of ghosthouse with carts inside. Keep experimenting! :-)
  18. Congratulations to the person who's vehicle deserved to win! *sweet*
  19. The Hornblower series have been discussed in this thread, enjoy! :)
  20. Someone posted pictures of the back of the box on Brickshelf Lego even shows us what to do with the amount of six (!) cafe corners put together.... (Picture is link to gallery)
  21. I'm not so sure about that, the stickers on the back look more like tyre-marks to me, compared to those of the new firetruck that look like some plated surface with nails... Anyway, convince yourself: :-)
  22. The set does not include the signs, the signs show in this case to which city this set is going to be shipped by the man who sold it to me.... :-P
  23. I finally got my hands on a copy of set 2140, it's still sealed and it cost me 30 euro's! *sweet* Only thing I have to do now is wait for it to arrive in my mailbox. One of the best promo's ever made in my opinion.
  24. Just browsing through peeron.com I stumbled upon THE INVENTORY OF THE CAFE CORNER! It's there, all 2056 pieces. Here's the link.
  25. So the "sculpture" over the front door of the cafe corner is made entirely out of minifig ski's... interesting design, for those of you who haven't seen it: scroll down to page 26 of the brickjournal. The set is listed for europe on shop at home at 139.99 euros. Thanks for posting the Brick journal!!
