  1. Good news for us Dutch fans: Lego celebrates its 50th birthday in The Netherlands with a "road event" in four city's there is going to be an exibition in the Bijenkorf-shops with the history of Lego displayed in showcases, some animals made out of bricks, discounts on most of the 2007 firesets and the giant model of the Bijenkorf Amsterdam. Furthermore some bulding contests and piece-count contests. The event has started in Amsterdam on the 12th of may (I've just been there and it's nice). They had a little shop with most of the sets, discounts on the 2007 firesets and the 2006 ambulance and they had the new refusetruck (13 euros) and the new green articulated truck (25 euros). Go check it out, if you are a frequent visitor of Legoworld in Zwolle you have probably (like me) seen all the showcases and animals before, but the film (from 1982!) is really nice and it will cost you nothing too see the exibition. After leaving Amsterdam around 4th june the event will be on display in Rotterdam, The Hague and finally in Eindhoven. :-)
  2. Oh yes, we're friendly people out here :-P I read in some newspaper the other day that the "refuse collection-squad" had picked up a stunning 600 cubic meters of trash off the streets in the city-centre alone (!!). That's a lot: the rubble cracked beneath my bicycle wheels when I made my way into the city centre that day. Amsterdam is a very popular city these days so I'm sure that when you check Google-pictures you'll get plenty of results. I didn't take any pictures during queensday myself, but maybe those are on google too. :-)
  3. Hi Wyvern! Nice too have someone from Singapore amongst our memebers, not many Asian people around here, you know. What are your lego-interests? Pirates, castle, town etc.? I'm sure your feeling about the greatness here will soon be materialized... ;-)
  4. Thanks for the link, although I don't have a mindstorms RCX it can be helpful. The barcode computer works less complicated (and has less functions) but I think it can be done. The only problem is speed: when the train rushes by it will pas the crossing in less than 3 seconds, my track isn't that extensive that the barriers will have the time to fully raise and go down again before the same train has completed the circular track and is back at the crossing. So the train must run at it's slowest speed, or the barriers need to be raised and lowered at lightningspeed.... 8-|
  5. Thanks for reacting on my topic! Using those touch sensors may also be a good idea (and cheap too, because I already have the two sensors!) I already tried to figure out how such a sensor could be placed underneath the track somewhere but haven't yet found a perfect solution. I'll just keep trying. The idea of using both sensors never occured to me (I had something in mind with timers to make the barriers go up and down) but this sounds more sensible. Thanks. :-)
  6. Nice review! I own the original set (with the two battledroids and the weird looking little cart, remember..?) and I still like that version. Never been a fan of the tendency lego has of bringing out every set two or three times making it more realistic. I have noticed a little mistake in the title of this topic, it says "Naboo fighter 7760" instead of "Naboo fighter 7660"
  7. Another piratefan added to our forum, plenty of pirate-facilities around here! Welcome and enjoy. :-)
  8. Nice find! Those blastercannons look pretty illegal to me... Good for taking out some speedcamera's.., :-D
  9. Thank you for visiting my hometown, glad you enjoyed it. When building my houses out of Lego I often get my inspiration out of the canal-houses and cafe-corner-like buildings. Did you manage to find any Lego at "Koninginnedag" (Queens day) on the markets in the streets? I did but most of it was quite expensive and I left it as it was. :-)
  10. Hmmm.... "4 Juniors Motorcycle chassis 2 x 8 x 3" interesting headgear.... :-D I would really like some bowlers in my town to make a few classic looking Brit's with black suits and folded umbrella's, some umbrella's would be nice too... :-P
  11. Looks promising in this small pictures, I too like the colorscheme but is that a new sort of blue or just the regular tone? Expensive nonetheless.... *y*
  12. Hi Bart, I don't know what Umbridge Office is? Some kind of sitcom perhaps..? It's in the space forum so probably not... Some more information would be great. Since you are new here (welcome by the way!) take the time to introduce yourself in the Hello my name is... forum, just click the link. Good luck, my fellow dutchman.
  13. Great smooth looking design, that one headlight on the yellow piece on the boiler looks simply fantastic. It's a good idea anyway to use those round pieces (from set 6339 space launching platform, I believe) to construct a boiler, very inventive. Keep up the good work! *y*
  14. This is great! I like the way your creation can be looked at from all different directions (no open backside), the colourscheme looks perfect. I saw this one on brickshelf and was about to post it here as a brickshelf find. When I saw it I didn't had the time, but I'm glad to see you beat me to it :-D *y*
  15. This ship got me back into pirates. I never had many piratesets: the harbor sentry 6245, the raft 6257 and the 6251 minifig pack along with the 6235 burried treasure. That was all, until in 2002 the rerelease of this beautiful ship came out. Around the same time I discovered Bricklink and the Caribbean Clipper (in a dusty old German Toystore). So my piratecollection started growing and growing. I have every ship (but the Crossbone Clipper) and am a piratefan ever since. 5/5 what more can I say...
  16. This baseplate came with a number of sets, including Alpha Team, Paradisa, basic and Adventurers. Click and see: -Edit: You beat me to it Wout!-
  17. Time to spin some lego, don't you think? Welcome to our forums, I am sure you'll enjoy your scarcely-computertime-periods (which is a good thing by the way) here. ;-)
  18. This looks great, I like the smooth rounded design of the locomotive with the four and five wide sections, though the locomotive seems to be dwarfed by the big carriages behind it. I wonder how the carriages will go through the curves....
  19. Why should everyting be deleted, haven't you got a little button on your computer that switches off the power? I do... 8-|
  20. I saw this on brickshelf some time ago and was contemplating posting it in this forum, because I really like the design of the house with the typical roof and the great facade. Only thing that kept me from posting was the fact that it was (still is) in MLcad and I prefer, like Athos, a brickbuilt creation. Still, the design looks great and I can't wait to see your brickbuilt version! :-)
  21. Great work, lovely little trailer. It reminds me of the Lucky Luke comics, there were some episodes (can't remember exactly which ones) including these charlatans. *y*
  22. Ah... I thought so, I knew it was you! :-D Welcome to our friendly community, you seem to like quite a few different themes. This is the place to be when it comes to discussing them. Have fun. :-)
  23. Fantastic! You mentioned you rarely see Mexican creations and indeed I don't recall seeing something like this. The facade seems to have escaped the Spaghetti-western films like "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly" and "A Fistful of Dynamite". Those beams sticking out certainly do the trick, you have observed the buildings of that time well! *wub*
  24. I once tried fitting one of these "maxi figures" in the cockpit of my 3451 Sopwith Camel. Even with the legs off the man still stuck out quite a bit.... :-( I have a number of those figures and they are a nice addition to any lego-collection, their flexibility was amazing when they first came out.
  25. Does CC stand for Cafe Corner 10182?
