More news for my fellow Dutch Eurobrickers, Next to the Lego Road Event in De Bijenkorf in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag (The Hague) and Eindhoven mentioned in this thread there is also going to be an exhibition in the Toymuseum in Deventer. This has to do with the fact that Lego celebrates it's 50th birthday in the Netherlands (50 years ago Lego was introduced here). Go check it out on this site, it's in Dutch... Ten years ago they did something similar in the same museum, and it was much fun being there.

Nice poll, who said something over lego not producing any female figs anymore? Me too, nice fig. Every fleshtone minifigure got eliminated right away from my perspective....

Thanks for the review! This looks like quite a nice gasstation, I like the revolving sign on the roof, the blowers in the carwash and all other small details. The counter looks a bit cheap, not much detail inside of the shop anyway, I liked these details , from set 1254. As for me running off to the shops to buy this: I already own two gasstations, the 6397 and the Shell collection (including the shop in the hyperlink), so maybe, just maybe I'm in for a third one.

Nice feature, now all they have to do is create moving images, cars passing by, pedestrians... :-) I believe something like this is also available for Amsterdam, have to look that up some time. Thanks for posting. -Edit: No, no such thing for Amsterdam yet, I guess I have to cycle around myself and see it in real life :-( :-D -

Lego City B.... Don't know, Bulk or something?

I really like the Islanders, I have most of the sets (missing the small throne 6236, the 6264 Forbidden Cove and the rare 1788 base) and I am urging to complete the sequence. I own two times the amount of baseplates needed for the Enchanted Island so I am able to make a circular pond with a small island in the middle. The MOC I made using that formula can also be found in the Islander Index Beautiful subtheme that is easy to expand with any Lego collection, all you need is some rocks and palmtrees. Tell us about (and show us!) your Islander MOC's Islander Boy!

Thank you, Khorne, for the nice review, the pics are a bit small but of good quality. This truck looks nice but I think it is way too big to fit any town (for my town it is anyway), I like the bunk/bed inside the cabin, something lego never did before for city/miniland sets. Good amount of lights as well. It'll be no buy for me, but I like the design. :-)

Welcome to this forum, nice to see someone of my exact age for a change... :-) There is plenty to discuss here regarding Pirates, so I'm sure you'll enjoy your time. Any creations to show us?

The only thing that comes close to what you are looking for might be this: Taken from one of the mightiest pirates vessels that ever sailed the seven (lego-brick-built) seas, the 6286

Thanks for the link! The Cafe corner is also up there, nice.

Great ship! I like the design and the hulls, it's something fresh and different, nice sails too! *y*

Off Marktplaats I bought my copy of the 856 Bulldozer yesterday! I am so happy, finally some wide tracks to MOC around with! Complete with instructions and all pieces (according to the seller, I'll be verifying that when it has found it's way to my parents home) for 47 euros. And today I came across this box (on Ebay, Germany) filled with a lot of traintracks (some switchpoints? Don't know, anybody able to see?) I placed a random bid and I got it for 22,50 euros...! I wonder what's inside. This was the only photo added and there wasn't much information in the item-description as well, just someone stating that his son was being to old to keep his lego and therefor wanted to sell it.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
simonwillems replied to DoubleT's topic in Culture & Multimedia
NOOOO! I feel stupid, thanks for pointing it out...... :-D -
I picked this set up a few days ago, and I think it's a great looking model! The thing that annoyed me was the first page of the instructions: Lego forbids us to spread out the pieces on a rug/carpet and to mix up the two sacks the pieces come in, why? Let me decide that for myself! I like how they used the same colors in the finished model as in the old cementmixer from 1985, only the hose on the back doesn't make much sense to me.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
simonwillems replied to DoubleT's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I saw the movie and it was horrible: unrealistic, no pirate-feel to it, too many different story's put together. :-X How many times can the same ship sink??? >:-( If they will ever release a fourth movie I will not be amongst the piratefans who will assemble in cinema's around the world to watch it. What I heard/read was that Orlando Bloom had had it with the serie of movies and therefor wasn't signing up for a fourth part. What's the point in posting empty quote-boxes? -
LEGOREDO STATION wild west set #6785
simonwillems replied to Brick Miner's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Excellent set, a shame Lego never released a Western trainset, I would have bought it for sure! 8- -
Yesterday I bought the new 7990 cement mixer in my local Legostore. Great set, good color scheme and with some nice features (some quite large pieces though used for the cementmixer itself but nicely fitted).

Amazing! That must have been a lot of nerve-wrecking work putting such a complicated model together! 8-

I have to agree with Mr. Tiber, my favourite set is the 6285/10040 too I own the re-release and it got me back into pirates. Though there is already a large picture posted about this set, in all it's greatness it deserves a second one, so here it is:

Technic trailers
simonwillems replied to 5150 Lego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice trailer! That must be a pretty tough off road vehicle (nice wheelchoice there by the way!), being able to support such a heavy machine. I like the way you made the triangled ramps for the backhoe to get on and off the trailer. I posted a thread sometime ago about the lack of technic MOC's on this board, I am glad to see someone took it to hart :-) -
Welcome Sam to yet another forum, you seem to be quite occupied in all kind of forums, but you finally found the best there is X-D Have fun here! :-)

This ship is of pure beauty, with the colorscheme and the (in my opinion great masts)! The only thing I would have done a bit different is the captainscabin interior: there is a lot of space there so maybe it's a good idea to divide the space into one large room and two very small cabins (on each side of the ship) for officers/doctor with just a bunk inside and a small door for acces. Otherwise, fantastic! *y*
