  1. The dewback guy: "I've fallen and I can't get up" hahaha. Chicken arm... a million legged robot skeleton... too funny!
  2. All very good creations, the first 3 are the best. Really entertaining descriptions too. How have you attached the tricorne?
  3. Love the Admiral's beard & head combo.
  4. I don't recognise those yellow parts as the arms, what are they? The cook is my favourite, his gun is pretty cool.
  5. What? That guy has 3 torsos! What a riot. Only in Sci-Fi. I'd love an official robot parrot like that.
  6. I was thinking, "hey! That's not a real Lego part! Oh, wait, it the old knight helmet on backwards!" clever. Ticker looks fantastic.
  7. Captain Abraham is hilarious. The band photo is cool, I haven't seen an accordion like that, that looks great.
  8. Adding inflated charges to the order after the fact? I think that qualifies. But now that the scenario has played out we find out that it was a mistake, not a deliberate gouge.
  9. Can anyone see that being made as a set? I mean it's entirely made of yellow bricks, and if TLG were to make it "set-like" it would no longer resemble the original sculpture. I wouldn't pay <insert default Ideas price in your region> for a bunch of yellow bricks.
  10. I see it now: full blown Lego sets to accompany the Dimensions theme. TLG releases a Minas Tirith set, with the minifig slots taken up by also having to include Batman, Emmet etc... LOTR fans get what they "want" but no Faramir, Denethor, Eowyn, Fell Beast etc...
  11. Inspired by Enid Blyton? Maybe not. The weapons look interesting and not oversized. I like how the shark head fits so perfectly, and the elf hair looks really nice for the theme. Copper the dog is very reminiscent of the mechanical dog Blue from F/X The Series! Jane's eye...
  12. Great. I never did a photography course so I don't understand many of the million different options on my camera, so I just use the auto setting, that means I have to keep giving it verbal abuse until it focuses where I want it to instead of where I want blurred! The focus usually goes straight to the front object, which is often the wrong one.
  13. Very funny descriptions! I think Saurokan is my favourite.
  14. More and bigger pics can be found here on Flickr. Allow me to present to you the Imperial Camouflaged Hideout. In a never-ending story of plunder, trade, conflict, exploitation and yohohos, there be pirates, civilians & soldiers. The pirates are always wanting to steal something, the soldiers aren't always squeaky clean, and the emperor wants peace (& personal riches) within the empire, but will expand it at ANY cost. No one really cares about the civilians, they're boring. Kids want action, and battle-in-a-box is better when it's just the guys with weapons. But we'll throw in a few creatures for fun. So the emperor has sent his soldiers to a remote land where there is talk of potentially high-value commodity hidden in the terrain. There's not really anything much in the way of a local population since the previous colonisation failed, besides native creatures, so it's first-in-best-dressed. The imperial navy is dispatched to keep the place protected from any other interested parties, but these bands of smugglers with their latest technologies are virtually impossible to keep away. One particular small outpost is a base for a line of communication. Using materials already located in the area, the soldiers have attempted to camouflage their hideout to avoid detection. It's a strategic position for anyone wishing to take advantage of the hidden wealth nearby. This small outpost currently has 3 soldiers on location. 1 is stationed above in a lookout position, the other 2 are within, awaiting orders while alert to potential action. But their efforts to hide aren't enough, as a band of piratical smugglers quickly closes in. 2 smugglers come from one side, a 3rd from the other with his sights on the lookout guard, while a 4th mans the hi-tech cannon from a small craft nearby. A small cache of golden treasure is currently hidden, but for how long? Could this be the end for these imperial soldiers? Comparing the 2 styles: Other details: I have tried to use only colours available from the period for the classic pirates scene, apart from the foliage. All browns & greys are the old type. Conversely all colours for the space pirates scene are the new type. The classic scene was built first, then the space scene was built to resemble it, with an attempt to keep it as similar as possible without making it look unnatural. Thanks for looking, hope you enjoy it. It was fun to put this together.
  15. Thanks! Updated with new photos!
  16. I for one don't look at other people's entries until I've finished my own. So I've only looked at cat A entries so far. I'll comment on other people's once I've finalised the post.
  17. There will always be more Batman movies regardless of that particular story wrapping up!
  18. If they think they can make money on a movie, they will make it. Doesn't matter how well a franchise is wrapped up. No completionist nerds like us running Hollywood, it's all about profit, always has been!
  19. Damn, too slow!
  20. (but I think you mean credibility rather than notoriety) The fuss is because BrickJagger takes this thread personally. We are all quite sure that there will be Castle next year, even if he never started the thread or said anything. We have no more information than any modern Castle AFOL could figure out for themself, since Castle is due next year anyway. So whenever someone says "hmm, a lot of posts about not much" (which is TRUE - some of which are from me) the OP gets defensive because he thinks they are calling him a liar, which is mostly not true. Fact is, there's still nothing to talk about except our hopes & expectations, which is the same conversation we have every year, multiple times. Difference being, this time is the first that he is OP, and since he claims confirmation without proof (not that it's needed for this case, since we know Castle is due anyway) he's taking the whole thing as personal, which creates fuss?
  21. Haha, well it depends where you live.
  22. Yes, but after 2 years of gap it's pretty much a given that we'll have new Castle sets soon. Besides, most of the "discussion" is just the same 4 wishlists that everyone posts every year, in at least 3 new topics. "I want Kingdoms 2.0" "I want Fantasy Era 2.0" "I want Black Falcons 2.0 vs Forestmen" "I want something so realistic kids won't go for it" etc
  23. Haha, would it come with Joey from Friends as Dr Drake Ramore? My post was more a throwaway at the "steady trickle" comment though. But while we're at it, how about a Jerry Springer set?
  24. As in "what's the difference"? The short one was the original format, the longer one gives the train more flexibility for corners & ramps.
  25. Is comic con reveals usually just licenced stuff?
