  1. Funny, I thought it was okay, no different to most other episodes. Still absolutely not-believable fire fights. Except for the light sabre battle & fan service of
  2. That's about it, there's no competition in theory, but there may well be practically, depending on the situation. They won't release 10 awesome projects at once, and they may release an okay one if there's been nothing else decent for a few months. But you definitely don't win or lose, you pass or fail.
  3. I subscribed a while ago, so I see his uploads in my feed (like a billion reviews per week - so much work) but I don't feel the need to watch very often. Good for him, he's one of the least annoying reviewers out there. I don't know why he bothers to make some videos, but hey, someone must be interested in what collectible minifig is in the random bag today... Yeah I don't watch his (or anyone's) videos much any more, he rambles a bit. It's better rambling than anyone else, but it still slows things down a bit too much at times.
  4. Well it had Wallflowers, RATM, Fuel, Foo Fighters, Silverchair, Jamiroquai, Green Day & Ben Folds Five which made it cool if you were in high school at the time!
  5. (Saying "mechs shouldn't have knees since minifigs don't" doesn't really work, since minifigs don't have fingers but many mechs do. They also have elbow & wrist joints, and most of the time, better articulation in every joint.) I think it may well be due to that. Having solid upper & lower legs adds greatly to the height. I also found the exo-suit to be more difficult to pose than system sets without it getting all crooked, trying to get one leg to work with the other, what with all of the joints. But I imagine it's primarily the increased cost & increased height.
  6. I parted out my extra Helm's Deep last night. It had a LOT of little grey pieces. Part count doesn't mean anything.
  7. For now we will have to do with added details and comparison shots with other trains. SP2 train is mostly done, topic coming soon. Comparison with my other trains:
  8. If so, I must ignore it every year. Wouldn't surprise me, I probably have everything I'm after already or holding off for May.
  9. The "hey we're also from the past/80s" thing seemed very familiar.
  10. Current S@H promotions are: Elves polybag with $45 of Friends/Elves/Princess purchase (red apple at long last!), and Winter Soldier with Helicarrier (which is out of stock). Elves, race & pirate sets are now available online, along with an $80(!!!) pirate chess set. I still haven't, I've seen all the others though. Evidently not, and I think that's normal. We get double points in October or November.
  11. Are you sure you haven't done the BTTF one before? Or maybe I just have a fading photograph of it.
  12. They have chosen the greater of 2 evils. You can tell it's the same face anyway.
  13. Thanks everyone, glad you like it. Can't wait to get a full track setup to watch it go around & around.
  14. Fair enough. More space bases would be good, the last one was in 2010, and it looked a bit City-ish. The domes were great, but just like raised baseplates, they're probably not coming back. (Too big & expensive)
  15. Nice vig! But it did have a cool soundtrack. Except for Puff Daddy (or whatever he is called this week) nuclear-cooking Led Zeppelin.
  16. Children killing each other violently?
  17. ...and none of them can see anything. Drives me nuts and looks so dumb.
  18. You aren't allowed to post it for the apparent sole or primary purpose of advertising your Ideas project to gain support. But if it is posted as though it's a regular MOC, with a link to the relevant Ideas page that is fine. So you should avoid putting "Ideas" in the topic title and so on. The focus of the post should be on the MOC, and not on the Ideas aspect. If your MOC gets really good attention your project will get some too. edit: what he said too ^
  19. I know that. When I say "made-up-canon" I mean some marketing story that is likely only given to a certain market (eg a US TV ad that never airs anywhere else) and is unnecessary to the story, but for some reason some people decide to make it "canon" because "TLG said" (marketing said). No one that's bought UA sets really cares whether one of the minifigs has also been a GS minifig. As opposed to canon maintaining a self-contained universe/lore that is specifically about stories. (ie the "facts" matter)
  20. And a further question: what on not-Earth were they all thinking with that ad? Nice t-shirts though! In that green colour would be awesome.
  21. Grammy awards are worse. No real musician cares about the Grammies. Oscars are at least still rewarding some art - not necessarily the best art - but most Grammies just take sales & popstar appeal into consideration, with art taking a back-seat.
  22. That's just made-up-canon to get kids familiar with a franchise or a character from a retired theme to get hooked into a new theme. Ignore it. Like the "Galaxy Squad is a continuation of Monster Fighters" garbage. No it is not, it is just a new (at the time) space theme. Ultra Agents is sci-fi, but not in a Eurobricks sense. (Same with all those under water themes.) They go in the action & adventure forum.
  23. I have 2 V-Wings, one is imperial in black, the other is republic in white & red I think. Palpatine from the Dark Side book has neck printing.
  24. Did Hasbro actually come up with that Transformer? Most of the early ones were bought from other companies like Takara and not designed by Hasbro at all.
  25. Surely correct about the City Space, that is seemingly never out at the same time as real Space. But as for the SW thing, we have never had proper Space at the same time as SW movies (with accompanying Lego, obviously the OT doesn't count!) The only sets we had between Insectoids & SP3 was the Mars stuff. But also there are the Ninjago & Superheroes space ships out there.
