Yeah it's a pretty cool competition even if you aren't interested in the prize. And no, we wouldn't have to spend $200, if we wanted we could just spend $50ish for a keychain. No thanks. Want to avoid the hefty postage? Gotta spend $200. No folded up poster is worth paying that kind of postage for. Yep, we'll take the whipping, complain about it but then turn up 'voluntarily' for another one next time anyway, haha. Yeah I bought the shadow ARF on Bricklink & skipped Han Solo, but the other years I've found something I'm interested in.

I particularly like the pirate version, and the way that the 2 are similar. Cool features on both. I think the space version would be more space-like if the buildings had some kind of bubble-looking windows somehow.

Regarding the clone commanders, I was reading the new character encyclopedia and noticed that contrary to what I'd been told before, Cody is indeed different from his other troops so I do retract that one. But I also saw that Commander Neyo is the minifig in the Saleucami battle set from last year, so you can add him to the list of characters we DID get!

Would using something greasy or soaking it in water or soap or whatever loosen the parts over time?

Yeah pretty disappointed that there were no discounted prices at all for S@H AU, I checked at midnight on Saturday, thought maybe they'll update it by the morning, but no. 10% isn't good but it would be better than nothing. Have to buy $100 of SW for the minifig, then an additional $100 of whatever to avoid the exorbitant postage. Does TLG want our money or do they just prefer that we give most of it to local retailers who very regularly sell 20% cheaper with no postage cost or 3 week delay? I for one won't be spending $200 per month to get all of the posters! But because there are sets that are not available locally, S@H prices are an evil I can't seem to avoid. Ended up getting a few exclusive sets at full price. And I forgot to redeem VIP points, haha. For anyone wondering (because I didn't see anyone else say) the win a UCS TIE competition IS actually available to most (not Korea), and it was the same for last year's comp (I wasn't sure before). The thing is that there are 2 separate identical competitions, one for USA & Canada, the other for Europe, Australia & NZ.

Took forever to read the board today. Anyway... New items on S@H today. Jurassic World (don't look at the prices) & Chima. Ferris Wheel will be available on 1/6 for $290. Don't talk to me about ferris wheels, I got stuck at the top of a malfunctioning one as a kid for half an hour on a windy day. Non-VIPs can get the Kwik E Mart from today. I also picked up the SW book with the Mandastormian/Protofett whatever you want to call it, from Target for $19. RRP is $30. It's a decent book too.

Okay. Those parts are quite easily available, so it's not a difficult thing to make it yourself, unlike eg Gree etc, who required a specific part to be produced by TLG.

It's hard to judge the space ship wreck, since I don't really know what the original would've looked like. It looks pretty good as it is though. But the classic ship is really nice, and the wreck depiction is great!

Well I originally wrote "thrown through the window" (without the lightning tag) but then I thought: "hey, there's a word for that you know - and how many opportunities are there to say defenestrated by lightning?" so naturally I couldn't resist!

The different heads, torsos, legs & headgear all match really well! Great job. The wolf's legs are the weakest link, the rest is top notch!
