  1. Ninjago Docks would be the first set he's referring to, I'm guessing. I have a hard time believing that the Jaguar was blocked by the Technic Bugatti, so I'm guessing that there must be a relevant Creator Expert car in the pipeline
  2. Everyone pays more than USA. Will always be that way, since forever. It's not recent. Be thankful that it is only around 30-40% mark-up for Lego. It is 50-100% for other things. Also remember that our prices include GST, whereas most other places tax is paid on top of the asking price.
  3. Most likely to pass: Flintstones, motorbike looks nice and not too big, Amelia Earhart has 'PC' appeal, but it doesn't look that great or exciting. Maybe 1 or 2 of those 3.
  4. Better get back to Lego soon or it'll all go to megabloks... The only decent female warrior/knight/ranger etc we got through licences was Tauriel from the Hobbit. The other middle-earth elves had the full-blown pretty dresses But seriously, apart from in fantasy, is plate (or any) armour form-fitting? I wouldn't have thought so. Just put a female head on it! And back in the (good ol') days when everyone had the same generic face, half of them already were female. Maybe...
  5. It does happen, but it's rare. Just a glitch in the manufacturing process
  6. Looks great, but this is cheating, haha. Minas Morgul was a good city in the first place!
  7. Trust TLG to make sets of the only Blizzard franchise I'm not all over. Saves me some money I suppose! (As in, if it was WC or SC (Diablo would never happen in a billion years) I would be spending a ridiculous amount, but as it's OW I may grab this'n'that. And I take that edited comment from Mark that those other games are not being expanded into, or at least not at this point.
  8. Stop walking over his grave, you lot. This kind of discussion is what makes it all feel hopeless How rude!
  9. It wouldn't be an airtight suit then, would it...
  10. It can take some time for people to come to grips with your hobby, especially when it is something to do with children's toys. But yes, these days I am more than comfortable with it and do it with family and friend-types, as it is an interest of mine. But they bring it up unless they're someone I know is also particularly interested.
  11. Ha. That is what happens when there is a new post hours after you've read the thread, you click on the button to go straight to the first unread post and don't see the previous one the second time...
  12. He has already uploaded a time-lapse video of the build!
  13. I totally understand. Have still been reading this site even though I don't think I've bought myself any Lego for a year or so. Certainly haven't built anything with it or opened any sets. CopMike's giveaway was the first time I built something since the previous one. There's just nothing available in that area of interest to get me going. No Castle for 5 years is crazy stuff, it's waiting for Voltron that keeps me alive (in the hobby) at the moment.
  14. Sorry to.................DERAIL the thread...... I posted what I did, as a suggestion, because I figure that the whole reason we specifically want "monorail and not just normal rail" is because of the compact size, the ability to go up and down and around and make something exciting rather than just chug-chug-chug around a flat town layout on enormous wide track & radius. I look at this rollercoaster thing, and I see something that is easily usable in place of the traditional monorail system (minus points and switches, but these could be worked out I'm sure) of which I have been a huge fan and have 4.5 trains (I never finished my SP1 train) and plenty of track. I personally see this new set and am ready to let go of monorail and trying to either revive it or design some complicated brick-built track version. TLG has done the leg work for us, we could easily connect up technic gizmos to drive it around our space base, mountain mine, Ninjago City, whatever. And dress up the carts so that they look the part for the desired build. I just feel that maybe we don't need a new monorail anymore, so this type of thread is possibly no longer necessary, while 2 years ago I saw it completely differently. But if people still want to dream or try things that's fine, I was just suggesting that maybe our long-time pining was no longer required. I still think the monorails are cool, but I think the rollercoaster system could work for us, so why waste our time, effort and money on trying to invent a new wheel when TLG just did one we could use for our purposes.
  15. Perhaps we should be turning our attention to customising the new rollercoaster system instead
  16. Is the Flintstones a resubmission? And where is Voltron already!?!? 2 years since reaching 10000 already, it's a long time for us to wait. I hope it's worth it
  17. Some set. This (or a giant custom version) will be at every Lego show going forward... something to take a break from GBCs, trains and dying monorails
  18. I thought kids only like ridiculous bright colours Why can't legit Castle sets use that kind of colour scheme?
  19. Back in my day we never had dirt, unless we made a fire over mud and it dried out. But we were too poor to have fire so it was always just a pipe dream
  20. BrickHeadzes, precious
  21. these allowed for side studs, clips, bars etc that you could attach anything to. You could put any modified plate or brick in the corners and use them as an anchor point for decoration, greeble or whatever snot work
  22. The Danish pronunciation of the "e" in Lego is somewhere between the English vowel sounds in "leg" "lay" & "lair", hence why you will find some people adamant it should be Leggo, others that it should be Laygo... when they are both not strictly correct anyway. Curiously no one argues over the pronunciation of the "o", when I've never heard anyone say it in English anything like how the Danish say it (oh v aw)
  23. An imaginary one
  24. Just taking some of that subject a little bit further: (but not specifically that movie or actor) Isn't it interesting how a lot of people have faces that don't show what they're thinking or feeling, and whenever any of these people are actors they are often branded by many as "bad" actors, especially if their demeanor is more dry/deadpan or melancholy than it is sanguine. I think it's a matter of taste. Perhaps those people are a bit one-dimensional in the roles they can play, and perhaps films could've been more interesting or less annoying to the general public with someone else instead. But are they useless/bad/unfunny? Some people think it's funny, others roll their eyes.
