I put the tunnel in it's place in my square... the walls will be filled later today! I think it fits in pretty good... i will do some decoration on the track and the space in front of the tunnel...

Would this be a nice version and also a possibility to split up the Assembly Square?

The inside details are also stunning.... it is an amazing build with so many printed tiles! The whole build must have cost a small fortune!! Great work!!

Great build! My favourite is the third floor wit a stunning bathroom and very nice library!!

I see your point about it being not realistic to have a tunnel for only filling a gap.. but otherwise i would have an ugly piece of track with nothing else just near some very nicely decorated buildings... I tried to make some kind of apartment, but i took it down, even before taking pictures of it, as i was far from happy with it.. I think i leave it like this... Tunnelentrance and nothing more... it is at least something...I ordered bricks to lengthen the tunnel to 32 studs...

Thanks for your kind words. I changed the bottom of the colums a bit and raised them by one brick, to ensure better clearance for the trains with pantographs! I also used the grey goldbars from the brickbank in stead of the 1x2 light bluish grey tiles....

Been out of the loop, what have I missed.

Well, Electricsteam, how long were you away exactly....... I'll make a start: There is this new train, 7710... -
it would be worse if some sets were 'Hard to Google'.. Last years, there is also a change in soms sets that should carry 'Hard to pay' ...haha..
-
So...i dare to say it is not an exclusive minifig, well, in case it is really Chase Mc Cain...maybe he has an extra button on his torso and is called Cheap Mc Pain?
-
Haha...yeah, thán it is pretty exclusive... But i never bought a set because of an exclusive minifig...that would be new for me...
-
So it is not THAT exclusive...??
-
What is the 'exclusive minifigure included' in the 60138 set????
-
Great stuff...where does it end... it is getting more beautifull each year!!
-
The crooks are doing well, they're getting better and faster and more expensive cars each year!!
-
This must be the most expensive roads per square meter i've ever seen!
-
Okay, HoedMan, i was a bit afraid it was getting too much... i'm thinking about adding some kind of simple lighting above the arched windows though....Two small towers would be better, or i'm also thinking of making some kind of luxurious appartment or art-gallery or so on top, like you suggested, a gatehouse! Mix of a ultramodern gallery on top of this historic 1900-tunnel would do well!

Thanks ElectroDiva, i see your point for having more clearance aroud the tunnel, but at the tunnel was just an idea for closing a gap between the modular buildings and a concrete wall, so i cannot change that. Bringing it forward does also not work, as there is a tight curve in the track, just in front of the tunnel, to have it fit to the trainstation! I googled the image for a Railway arch market and i like the idea.. there is one thing i could do, and that is replacing the tunnel to the other side of the layout...i have more space there... so i could develop some kind of shopping area around the tunnel entrance there... At least you've given me inspiration, and as i have an easy day at work, i might make some kind of drawing to see what is possible here...(top of picture below) (This is a corner that needs developing anyway...)
-
Yes, i'll raise it one brick...it is really tight, with the pantograph! Maybe i start with a wider footprint for the columns, say 4 wide and 6 deep, instead of 4x4 and have a 45 degree slope there!
-
Here the second design....i might have been a bit too enthusiastic with some details...
-
That is in fact a pretty good idea... i could make some kind of apartment or so...or a trainmuseum on top of the tunnel.... About the Emerald Night...i owned this train a few years ago, including 5 coaches, but i had no room left for enough track to put all trains on, so i sold a few trains.. Now i have a few trains amongst others horizon express, red passenger, yellow freight, red freigt 3677 and a green freighttrain... I only have the Horizon Express running around, now and then..so 10 studs wide is enough for me! Thanks....i'm working a lot in the town forum, and there is LBG more common...haha!!
-
That would be the nex step...to make some kind of rock-like structure, that merges with the real masonry/concrete wall, to the right of the tunnel!!! I can't make the steps to big, as i have limited budget...!!!
-
That is one great building you made there!! It is in fact the Davenport Casino...haha!

Yes, correct, that is Light Bluish Grey... the arch gets teh same color as the masonry-bricks. I ordered more than one piece of the arch, so i will place them double at the entrance...I could place the second arch one or two plates lower, so the arch gets a kind of depth in the tunnel... The place were it will be put is as seen in this picture: At the right of the most right building, were the track vanishes... Or, to be more precise: here.. The inner space of the entrance is 10 studs.. inside the tunnel 12. I tested it for a long Horizon Express Creator train, and it was wide enough...

Haha...never took this reaction in account...haha..thanks!! We'll that is also possible! Maybe someone else would change something??
