  1. Some of them, the more complex molds....the price varies from 50,000 - 500,000....a 1x5 flat tile is a very simple mold.
  2. The molds exist....it would just be changing up the colour mixture...couldn't be that expensive?
  3. In the case of 8649 it uses 1x12 and 1x4 Red axles on the spolier wing, its about how a model looks...colour co-ordination etc.
  4. But from an asthetic perspective and 1x5 tile looks better then a 1x3 and a 1x2...or a 1x4 and a 1x1 tile. IMO this is about how a model looks...it would look better with a single 1x5 tile.
  5. Yeah....2793 parts and 1200 of them are pins!!
  6. Agreed!...how hard could it be to make a 1x5 flat tile?.....they really should make new moulds that have 1x5,1x7,1x9 flat tiles anyways! I also note that this is the *FIRST* Technic set to use part #98138 in trans clear. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=98138&colorID=12&in=A
  7. Is this the reason TLG don't make official sets out of MOC's?
  8. I think B models extend playability + build experience....the build experience is an essential component as to why Technic is successful. Also there are fans who buy two sets so as they can build A and B. Also for parts collectors the B model will give them much needed leftover/spare parts. For the designers it allows them to build something different and unconventional, in some cases. Its also interesting to see what else you can build with the A model parts. I agree that Lego for children is about fun, education and making them think...using theirs brains to come up with different builds. Lego is very much an educational toy for children...dont forget that!
  9. ^ is that for nuclear waste transport?
  10. Spotted a pneumatic part from 2014 in a new colour, the T bar is now in Black: http://www.bricklink...colorID=11&in=A
  11. So is it confirmed?...the track base is officially the largest ever for a Technic set?....8275 had 84 threads (42x2), 8043 had 76 threads (38x2). Is this set 90 threads long? The colours are superb, it also gives us a fresh supply of Blue beams, especially in the rare 1x9, and also 1x11 and 1x15....we get panels in Blue that are new for that colour. Overall this set is superb, huge, tons of modding potential....it looks like the boom can be extended and made even loner if you wanted to! Though perhaps the L motor would not handle a longer frame?....maybe use an XL motor? Either way this set will be heavily modded and customised....it is a must for me to buy! Jaysus!....how much did it cost to buy all the parts? !!!
  12. Yeah...but how much will they sell for?....crazy money i suspect!
  13. We've had the same BORING Black and LBG axles for many years now, and alot of times the colour dosen't match the set they are used in or certain parts of the build should require use of a different colour then the bog standard axles TLG have been producing. Back in the day TLG did do some sets with Red axles, some even in Tan White and Brown....recently i have been thinking about building 8649 in Red but alas Red axles in the nesscary lengths alude me :-( Do you think there should be more colour variation in axles?
  14. If you mean these old parts then no: I mean....kinda....the old steering plates have the curve at each end....but i just want them 100% flat on the top surface. The reason i want them is as you can see with modern Technic beams there is a curve on each end, wheni add a flat tile each end is square not curved to match the Techanic beam.
  15. Can someone please give us an overview of the new parts?...i dont know anything about pneumatics, which parts are new exactly?
  16. Efferman....is it possible to make flat tiles with a curve on each end? Same type of curve seen in a Technic beam: Flat tile: So a flat tile with a curve on both ends, and another version with a curve on one end. In lengths 1x2 - 1x16.....is it possible?
  17. Thin liftarms in 1x5, 1x6 and 1x7 are very common in Yellow...lots of sets from 2014-15 have them. If you want to talk rarity then look no further then the Red liftarms in 1x5, 1x6, 1x7......VERY RARE! I built 8258 by buying parts brand new....took me a few months to collect the parts, but i got it 100% part accurate. It cost about €350 to buy all the parts. Better then giving some scalper €500!
  18. Yes....its all becoming style, looks and tons of panels used instead of features and functionality!
  19. JANG now has the B model for 42037 up, its pretty dreadful imo!
  20. Here are some brand new videos reviews, i dont think we've had a review of 42036 yet outside of Sariels, so here is a new one: Techlug.fr with a short review of 43039...i belive the reviewer hated the set, based on comments on Brickset: This is awesome!...a full RC version of 32038!! ^ what an awesome and truely entertaining video!...i love the music, the editing...fun to what, and very high productions values...bravo!
  21. Spotted a few more Technic parts in new colours that i want to point out. Part #60169 is now available in Sand Blue: http://www.bricklink...v.asp?S=70131-1 Has anyone ever found any use for this 16L technic beam?....i was thinking it would work better in 8067 rather then the standard 1x15 Black beam? http://www.bricklink...Item.asp?P=2351 8067 part http://www.bricklink...sp?P=57779&in=S
  22. Brickset review: http://brickset.com/...9-24-hour-racer techlug review: http://www.techlug.fr/review-lego-technic/42039/voiture-de-course-lmp1-42039-uwe-wabra-2015
  23. There are two so called "inspiration" model buildable via .pdf....a glider and a propeller plane...but cant find the instructions. Any help?
  24. I dont like stickers at all...i never apply them. This set + all my sets are sticker free....you are right, thankfully the second hand set i bought was very easy to take off the stickers. Since they were years old they came off with no residue glue/gunk left on the bricks. After that i washed the parts; As for the white bricks...they do go off colour...there is a hint of a dirty yellow-ish stain on the white bricks. Which is why i bought all new pieces. I added a few more brciks to the front end, to give it more support and structural integrity and slighly modifed the front...add more pieces and a second 1x8 flat tile + few more pieces. I think it turned out really well...just wich i had a proper camera to show you guys.
