  3. i have been looking over the parts list for 41999 and it has some of the rarest and most exclusive parts, notably the Dark Blue and Metallic Silver parts. i was looking at 42064 and noticed this search ship features quite a few of those rare parts, can anyone double check or spot them for me? do i see the 1x11 and 1x15 liftarms on Drak blue?....i also see the small Dark Blue panels 87080 and 87086, can anoyne see any other liftarms or Technic connectors? as someone who missed out on this set i am interested in trying to find and collect the unique parts to i can build this beautiful set, i have seen it rebuilt in others colours but i think Dark Blur looks the best. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=41999-1

  12. what length flex hoses did you use?...how many?...did you use any Red #3 connector?...could you add a fake engine under the bonnet?....that area looks really naked. did you use any red axles?
  13. just to address some of the points raised thus far...i 100% agree about the real issue of dumbing down and not giving children credit for having some inteligence. in fact, the primary purpose of Lego is an educational toy, Lego is supposed to improve hand/eye co-orrdination and improve mental sharpness and speed....also to stimulate the creative part of the brain. it does seem in recent years that the building process is being simplified more and more.....however MY point was aimed at AFOL's and the complaint of colour vomit in Technic models, not the wider implications of the coloured axles introduction. as adult fans we have a large slection of spares in many colours....ergo there is no real issue of having colour vomit in a Tehnic model.
  14. inspired by 8448....its interesting the wheels and tyres you used on this models, original,
  15. this contest has some very high quality models, its gonna be very hard to judge the winner! what happens to the winning entry?...does it get made into an official set?
  16. agreed....i think this guy does some really good work and mods, and he is FAST! 42008 is a compact and well designed set.....its got some really nice functions and is fun to build, enjoy!
  17. Preach! you might be onto something here......
  18. watching Sariel's video of him talking with Technic designers it seems obvious they read the forums here, know exactly what people think and want from sets etc. they even mentioned colour vomit and address why the Red and Yellow axles were introduced....as we speculated it was to give kids an easier time to find the parts when they dump hundreads of pieces onto the floor or into a box etc. one must also assume that the new axles colurs give designers more choice, colour co-ordination etc. - but the complaints here seem rather silly, in that it is very easy for us guys to simply swap out coloured axles for whatever colour you think is right. i have Black 3L and 5L axles and often use them to colour co-ordinated certain sections when i am building a set, in fact i have many parts in many rare colours to do just this, most Technic parts exist in multiple colours outside of Red, Black, Yellow and LBG....so i think the complaints about colour vomit are null and void... IMO.
  19. well colour me stunned!...i just saw Part #4274 for sale in White, and its a brand new part!... http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=4274&colorID=1&in=A
