Excellent build, thanks for sharing. Certainly qualifies for the Technic forum Hall of Fame. The link to LEGO ideas project page does not seem to work for me, supported! Your choice of track looks great as well and adds to the appeal, rather than using the straight track part 3228c:

Closed-loop fluid systems are very common - anyone with an air conditioner or refrigerator has one. As long as an external source of energy is supplied and the system is kept free from leaks, a closed loop system will operate indefinitely, until parts or seals wear out, which usually happens on the hottest day of the year

Will vote, looks excellent at this scale, nice use of parts, etc. But I doubt this will get made as TLG has had plenty of opportunity to make a similar set and didn't. You do need a few more minifigs, a lit beacon, a Nazgul, and of course, Grond. By the way, how many parts and any interior features?

Hi Uefchen, another excellent MOC - and it is so refreshing to see a non-wheeled vehicle. -
42110 - Land Rover Defender
JGW3000 replied to 1gor's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I might store mine in a pneumatically sealed positive pressure enclosure to prevent dust, mites, etc. from getting to it; or, build the stadium truck, and then part it out for MOCs -
42110 - Land Rover Defender
JGW3000 replied to 1gor's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Having just finished the build, I found all parts present and accounted for. I was careful to avoid the pitfalls others have reported, and do not have the horrible cracking sounds others have reported. The only way to fix this is to rebuild. You will find that Lego stores do not have spare/loose Technic parts. The best way to get more technic is to - buy a set, gets parts from Bricklink, or get parts from Lego website Bricks and Pieces. -

I'm a bit late to the party also, having just found time to build my 42110. And, I also got stuck on step 271 - its not a black gear here, you need the dark-stone-grey T8 gear, fits perfectly This: BTW, just starting bag 3 and I discovered I accidently used tan rather than 'Land Rover Green' 2x1 beam w/cross in the engine crank assembly, so now my seats look a bit, ahem, used. -
Nicely done, fits the mood of the song quite well.

Look below the two red panels on the bottom right, you can see two black connectors that look like part 49731 (someone please correct me if I am mistaken) (a closer look shows that at least one may be a cross-axle connector) l -
Maersk Road Train

Epic build, thanks for sharing. Clearly see this is a true labor of love, 7 years of building and looks fantastic! We would be interested in seeing the evolution from original concept to final product, if you are willing to share some of the prior attempts. -

JGW3000 replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I may have spotted some Lego Forma connecters, part 49731 in black, probably being used to hold the windshield in place, in one of the images on the TLG webpage showing 'cool bearded guy' building the bike. I was wondering when these parts would show up in Technic. Their use suggests that the use of more flexible sheets are coming in future sets. -

JGW3000 replied to Kaanere's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Can you give us some specifics about what you would change? Perhaps one of the greatest aspects of LEGO is the ability to customize and create MOCs. Understanding that the set designer is working under a limited parts budget and constrained by other factors - playability, safety, buildability, etc., the set is what it is. Its up to the AFOL community (us) to make mods to bring the set up to our 'standards'. So, please suggest some changes or go ahead and make a MOC. -

Two of the 3x3 biscuit parts in black - curious to see how they get used. And wondering if this part is just laziness on the part of designers, can existing parts be used instead, or are the biscuits needed for frame strengthening, etc. -

Older cas from the 60's and 70's usually had thinner tires (and hubs) than we do now. That said, these old muscle cars are usually outfitted with wider tracks for better performance - go to any 'classic' car show. I think LEGO made the correct choice here, regardless of what may be in the movies or as OEM equipment on the real vehicle. My expectation for a modified muscle car would be to have wide tires, as they give the model a more aggressive stance. -
Has anyone noticed that the set number, 11010, is binary for 26??? Clearly a hidden message from the deep brick

How about the Beatles White Album

Its probably a combination of wired and wireless, with maybe a wireless/induction pad recharge item. The mock-up for the some of the sets show cars with lights, so either tiny little batteries for each vehicle, or each light is its own independent power/supply and lamp. Question is - since the models were not designed for lamps, can these sets be designed to be used retroactively, or will only new sets have illumination kits going forward?

Stop it! Too many old memories coming back. I've literally forgotten about these until now! Great work and keep them coming. How about ELP's Brain Salad Surgery?

Very exciting development, and the smaller size is more convenient for display. But, I am wondering how he may handle more complex FLW designs, such as the Beth Sholom Congregation, with its famous Mt. Sinai shape, in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania (which is listed by the American Institute of Architects as one of the 17 American buildings which are to be preserved as an example of Wright's contribution to American architecture, according to Wikipedia). Not being part of TLG may enable Adam to do subjects that were off-limits, such as churches and other religious buildings, which have some of the most iconic architecture (The Vatican, etc.).

Instantly recognizable, well done. Amazing how the wheels and fenders work here as well.
