  1. Does anyone know if Unimog tires will fit on 42029? I am concerned about the clearance, especially on the rear axles. If the answer is yes, I have 99% of the parts to build it!
  2. I'd like to see part 2340, Tail 4 x 1 x 3, be produced in orange again. With all of the new arctic sets using orange, having this part will help us make arctic-themed MOCs of boats, planes and submarines. Here it is in white:
  3. I wouldn't mind seeing the "screaming win kid" on the end of string...
  4. Actually, the chances of "winning" on a given day go down by about 0.5% per day, initially, and then accelerates towards the end. First day, 24*7 = 168 prizes, 210 entries = 80% chance of winning removing won prizes and winners, second day 23*7 = 161 prizes, 203 entries remaining = 79.3 % chance of winning Any case, I think we are all winners for having such an excellent website in Eurobricks, thanks CopMike for hosting the give-away! Chances of winning on any particular day for those still have not won anything. Overall, the chances of winning remain 80 % day chance 1 80.0 2 79.3 3 78.6 4 77.8 5 76.9 6 76.0 7 75.0 8 73.9 9 72.7 10 71.4 11 70.0 12 68.4 13 66.7 14 64.7 15 62.5 16 60.0 17 57.1 18 53.8 19 50.0 20 45.5 21 40.0 22 33.3 23 25.0 24 14.3
  5. Good luck, pedro..I am surprised at the objection, considering current themes that are being produced. Bladerunner is much more tame than some of the more recent Batman and other Superhero movies. Perhaps its the "R" rating of the film? One suggestion is to base the model off of the book, "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep," as this is the source material for the film.
  6. I was one the fence, thanks to this review, I'd probably need to get at least one of these now. I am a little bothered by the boxiness of the blue-jay's head, maybe some roof tiles would have worked better around the neck/throat area?
  7. I am wondering if they switched the lights from the old part, http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=30602, used in the leaked imaged, to the round trans clear parts, on the production model, as these parts (round ones) really make the B model look good. Maybe need to buy two of these, one for the B-model, and the other to mod for better looks, as suggested.
  8. I am working on modifying my RI to feature the more realistic characters I've got down the hall from me, including a crazed scientist (me) and Hazmat guy (he only shows up occasionally when we are using some noxious solvents). Any scientist or technician in labcoats or blue work uniforms, neoprene gloves, and safety glasses would be great. Some one like Dilbert's pointy haired boss or an old curmudgeon (doesn't every lab have one or two floating around) would fit in well as. Safety inspectors, grant monitors, and quality trainers would round out the lot. Plenty of room for MOCS here if LEGO doesn't follow through.
  9. This is fantastic, all the details look just right to me. Shame you couldn't get all of the parts in blue, I am thinking maybe earth blue or black would work as well, since many of the scenes in the movie make the vehicle look almost black. The minifigs look fantastic also. "You've done a man's job, sir", these are "extraordinary things, revel in your time". Can't wait to support on Ideas!
  10. There are several entries which I would consider not very original. My only issue is that less knowledgeable people may not be familiar with the range of Technic sets, and so not recognize that some entries are more MOD and less MOC. I'd suggest that every entry have a good picture of the sets the parts were taken from.
  11. Its gimmicky, but useful in some limited situations. Personally I prefer less cluttered images with the entire field in focus. In some circumstances selective reduced depth of field enhances the image, however. I'd like lytro better if the output was a simple focus-stacked image that was not married to their proprietary software and website. But if you are happy with it, go for it!
  12. Love the details, looks great. BTW, need link to you flicker page. Any chance to get building instructions? What are the functions?
  13. Fairground Mixer is about as close as we are going to get, I think, and even then you had to purchase the motor and battery box separately However, the whole Mindstorm concept could be considered Technic that doesn't necessarily need wheels, although that may be stretching the Technic definition somewhat.
  14. You can use part 50373 instead, it is almost identical and has the two extra studs on the top, in LDD. 2399 is no longer in production, anyway.
  15. By the way, what is the trans-clear part holding the hummingbird, will come in handy for many uses? Nevermind, its a 99784
  16. Wow, much better looking than expected, very well done, will be on my to-buy list. The jay is my favorite bird, love to watch them causing a ruckus in my backyard, and teasing the cats and other birds. Wondering though, the original CUUSOO project was for three birds, then for IDEAS, the rules changed and only one bird was pushed forward. Now we are back to the original submission - go figure.
  17. Picked up two yesterday at TRU, they had to go to the back to get them, but otherwise no issues Going back tomorrow to see if I can get a few more. However, somehow one of them ended up on Mars having a confrontation with the Rover...
  18. I just got the TRU run-around. No Raccoons on the shelf. Asked customer service, and they said "we have a large quantity out, $4.95 each". Checked with the guy stocking the shelves, and he said, "Not out until the 21st, and get one free with $30 purchase." So I guess I am going back on Friday and making a whole lot of $30 purchases, and returns.
  19. New Pink Floyd !!!
  20. Who wouldn't want a pony for Christmas. Just last night, my kids rejected any and all possible and future LEGO sets in favor of this. (If it actually happens, guess which part of this is my "present" )
  21. Both 42038 and 42039 b-models look wicked, I may skip both A models and go right to the B-models. Any chance 42038 a- or b-model can be fully motorized?
  22. There is a way to limit the parts list in LDD to only the parts, with the correct quantities, in your inventory. You will need to create an LDD file with all of your parts that you are wanting to build with, either manually or using software such as LDDmanager. Then copy this file into the LEGO application subdirectory, on my PC it is "C:\Users\your user name\AppData\Roaming\LEGO Company\LEGO Digital Designer\UserPalettes". Then in LDD, make certain you in in "standard" LDD mode (not extended or Mindstorms), and on the bottom left, under the brick palette, click on the icon for "filter bricks by boxes", and you should see your custom parts file. You will need to exit and then start LDD again, and it seems to be a bit flakey, but otherwise works great. My custom parts LDD file has 11,000 elements in it, with no problems using it.
  23. Inspired by the white crabs in 21100 Shinkai Submarine, I designed two deep sea-vent crabs. These animals are blind, having only vestigial eyes, hence no eyestalks, but do have the large front claws typical of crabs. They prowl around sea-floor active black smokers, which vent super heated water, eating dead stuff and maybe tube worms. Would have liked to have a more organic shape, but needed to use 1x2 modified plates on the body in order to attach the claws and legs. The real thing
  24. Been to 43 out of 50 states, lived in 6 or so. Important ones still missing are Oregon and Alaska All over Canada, 5 different provinces All over Mexico, from the tip of Baja, to Quintana Roo, Federal District, Aguascalientes, Tamalpais, Nueva Leon, up to the Texan (Tejas) border Cayman Islands Bahamas Brazil La Republica Argentina Chile - including the end of the earth, Cape Horn France Italy Vatican City (it is its own little country) Luxembourg Germany Switzerland Belgium (but only to drive from France to Luxembourg) Russia, both European, Urals, and Asian sections, got out of Siberia before winter hit hard! and not once did anything LEGO related in any of these places (except home state, of course)
