  1. I'm patiently waiting for a few Bricklink orders to build this ^^ beautiful TIE Bomber! Many thanks to Barneius Heavy Machinery and Vessels Industries and Rebrickable for providing the instructions to build this astounding model! The Bricklink easy buy function was tempting, as it made all parts available from just two sellers. Both sellers were international, however, and I wasn't up for a potentially long wait with customs hold-ups, etc.... So I opted for in-country sellers on October 1st - all orders have been shipped already =oD This is also my first go at purchasing instructions for a premium MOC, then sourcing the parts. I'm pretty sure the cost is higher than any potential LEGO release, but at the same time I'm not forced to settle on the 'official' set. I don't even have the completed model in front of me yet, but I can already see the appeal of purchasing a premium MOC - I get exactly what I want! I can't wait
  2. That has baffled me for a long time! Then the 75218 version came along and it seems like they finally figured out the proportions - with the same engine pieces
  3. What an eeevil little scene - FANTASTIC! I'm compelled to switch my Hue lights to purple and orange and listen to Type O Negative
  4. Same. It looks great! You managed to retain the elegance of the shuttle design as this small scale begins to make vehicles look chunky - bricks be bricks All the proportions are spot on - the wings, the angles. Sheesh, even a boarding ramp...something LEGO never bothered with. At every angle, every perspective, it looks really good. If I had a nitpick, it's the engine 'exhaust' trans-light blue tiles. They should be centered on the fuselage. If I had to find a way to solve that, I guess I would try to flip some of the rear fuselage plates to studs-out and use jumper plates...but I haven't MOC'd in so damn long it would probably take me a week to figure it out! Awesome work!
  5. Yep, no argument there. A new Very Light Blueish Grey brick color then??
  6. Perhaps! But that's just one image from a decade(s)-old tweaking of the original Star Wars. There are many recent examples of Sentinel shuttles in TCW (or Rebels?) - which can also be considered canon - that suggest 'dirty white.' ...to my eyes at least.
  7. OOOH! OOOH! Can I beat this dead horse with you guys? I have flip-flopped on this subject for several years but have concluded that a Sentinel or Lambda shuttle, etc...would arrive fresh off the assembly line as white in appearance...or MAYBE very, very light grey. Then, as these vehicles experience time-in-service in the SW used universe, they become 'dirty white' over time. So LEGO has to decide what color brick to use, whereas scale modelers just apply weathering. There's no perfect solution, IMHO.
  8. • I find the 501st set boring af. Don't care, keep it. • Slave I aside, the 20th Anniversary sets were lame and a wasted opportunity. Thankfully the Slave I is awesome. • There can never be enough Lambda Shuttles - I'm disappointed about the false rumor. • I really like the UCS Star Destroyer, and I think it's priced fairly. *dodges rotten vegetables* • The lack of a new TIE Bomber in the mix is getting stupid at this point...although TLG may be aware of this sentiment. • I'm still waiting for a Sith Infiltrator that doesn't look like garbage.
  9. That is the coolest, most visually captivating build I have seen in a while. I think it's safe to say you achieved your goal! Mind blown.
  10. I'm very particular about SW spending lately. I was very much looking forward to the rumored UCS Shuttle - so much for that one! Like everyone else, I'm very curious about the Mos Eisley set, but I'm not nearly as excited for it. I'm now realizing just how much my spending is affected by my enthusiasm for the related films - greatly diminished, in this case. I'm leaving most of the recent sets warming the shelves. I'll likely leave the 501st Battle Pack on the shelf as well...if I ever actually see one, that is! Hopefully the UCS Shuttle eventually arrives, or a TIE Bomber in some form. I'm not a fan of the chunky UCS A-wing. On the other hand, the revised Kylo's Shuttle was a hit in my opinion - great set. Either way, my wallet is happily idle these days.
  11. WOW!! Amazing work! The Technic connectors are PERFECT for hairy insect legs! Are there any more photos of the Emissary with different angles, or? Your Flickr photostream is mind blowing - I especially like Dullahan of Ireland. The Insta link isn't working for me. Thanks for sharing!
  12. Dang! This one is hands down my favorite so far - clicked as soon as I saw this. The color scheme looks amazing, and the processing vane section is about the only part that I liked about the 75222 set, perhaps the interrogation chamber as well. Either way, this is fantastic work!
  13. BEST rumor in a long time! 1) The taper of the cockpit nose section is too extreme 2) Could use a boarding ramp 3) The engine exhaust design was FUGLY *GASP* Blasphemy!! Ok, so, in the event nobody figured it out, the Lambda Shuttle is my absolute favorite vehicle in the SW Universe, but the 10212 set could certainly use some tweaking here and there. My metric for a 'perfect' UCS set is whether or not I feel compelled to modify the original design. Unfortunately I couldn't STAND the engine exhaust design choices, so I had to fix that. The nose is too pointy, but I haven't come up with a suitable alternative. I welcome the idea of a fresh UCS Shuttle - let's see what they do with it!
  14. Fantastic! I can't get enough of the Classic Space stuff! The detail on the underside is probably my favorite part of this build. Great SNOT work all around - especially those 1x2 hinge plate connections that attach the detail to the leading edge of the wings. Also, the blue fin elements that are oriented on the horizontal, just forward of the engines - I have never seen that piece integrated with those two slope elements before! Great work!!
  15. If that's a new policy, it isn't the best policy if you ask me. I would much prefer the model design be the best it could be, even if it means directly using ideas from MOC builders. Credit for any collaboration can be on display in the beginning 'making of' section of the instruction book, no? I'm sure there's more to it, but the whole idea could also function pretty well as a fan outreach gesture.
  16. I pretty much agree with the comments above with regard to cost prohibitive piece counts - with one exception. A UCS Venator. Plenty of exposure in the Prequels and The Clone Wars and, in my opinion, a viable candidate to be 'LEGOfied' with simplified design and reduced piece count to meet an appropriate price threshold without detracting too much from the original MOC design.
  17. I'm one of the (very late) latecomers to the Overwatch game on XBox, and I've grown to really enjoy playing! Before getting familiar with the game, I sort of shrugged at these sets and moved on - but now! Now I want more! Buying them while I can. What puzzles me though - why not Buildable Figures? Minifigs are okay, but they don't really do these Heroes justice, in my opinion. All the different armor and weaponry detail struggles in Minifig scale. Could you imagine a Pharah or Reaper buildable fig?!! I think that was a missed opportunity. Oh well.
  18. Thank you! I'm preparing with some eye roll exercises as we speak This should be fun.
  19. Best. Color scheme. EVAR. Gotta love a nice Neo-classic build! The engine detail is particularly great - especially at the outer edges with the triple-fin vents and blue slopes. Awesome stuff!
  20. WOW!! I was just about to post in your other Tantive IV thread when I saw this! These are both amazing - two more home runs! Can't say it enough. Your payhip link, and others like it, are becoming the 'streaming service' of LEGO builds...when official LEGO sets are nice, but just not enough Fantastic work!
  21. *Bandit beat me to it!* Sorry to hear you're encountering some difficulty. I don't recall having any issues with the steps you're referring to - everything went together without issue. It sounds like the assembly points are stressed because some small step was either missed or put together incorrectly. On page 189 of the online instructions (Step 309) there's an inset with a depiction of the correct and incorrect alignment of the gray Technic beams. I would start there and go backwards in the manual to search for a potential oversight. Even after building for the majority of my lifetime, I'll still catch myself rushing and making a mistake. Staring at those instructions for so long can hurt your eyes, too Building a set like the SD is a marathon, not a sprint. Best of luck!
  22. ...OH! This is real! Upon first glance I immediately thought MOC. I have zero interest in this, but for Manchester United fans?? WOW! Sets like this give me hope - that one day TLG will kick out some huge random super-specific set that I'll go nuts over. Good for you...futbol...soccer...Euroball crazies! Looks pretty awesome.
  23. Page 2 of this thread is the only mod I've seen so far.
