LDD update 4.1.8 released
Calabar replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
When that happens, LDD create e file, UnplaceableBricksDump.lxfml, in the user directory, that shows the impeached bricks. It is not surely intuitive, but it is something, at least! -
Small LDD contest - [FINAL RESULTS]
Calabar replied to Calabar's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
[FINAL RESULTS] So, this contest has reached its end. I'm very happy to see so many participants (about forty, much more than I thought) and so many amazing works. Unfortunately there can only be a single winner for each category, so that we can't reward all the builders that would deserve that. Here is the list of the creations that will represent this great forum worldwide (or something like that ): Winner by "popular acclamation": - 38 - The Lanterne Rouge - Helicopter "Chosen by Jury" Winner: - 36 - -R8- - The Goblin Schoolboy "Kissed by fortune" Winner: - 08 - darkdragon - Rooster Mech Thanks to all participants and congratulations to the winners! The winners contact me using private messages to receive the prizes, which is one each of the rare, and yet unreleased 30121 Grem polybags. -
LDD 5, what features do YOU want?
Calabar replied to BasOne's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
My wishlist updated. -
I think it is just different! LDD is easy to use, fun, simple. The brick palette is limited (but wide thanks to Extended Mode) and it is not possible to add bricks or decorations. Only legal connections are recognized by the software, so it is difficult to apply advanced build technique. The learning curve is very fast. If you want to use MLCAD palette (and files) with a software similar (but more complex) to LDD, you could try SR3DBuilder, that offers many advanced features such as animations, pneumatics and use of flexible elements.

LDD update 4.1.8 released
Calabar replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Absolutely agree. In LD4 they removed the corner panel 4737 from my 6972 Polaris Lab, and in the meantime introduced flexible hoses 73590 (e.i. the hose was already in LDD, but they introduced the flexibility). So I have to decide if renounce to the hoses or to the corner panel! And for big mocs this thing is even worse. I hope the LDD team changes this politics. I hope the new pieces are better than possible, instead. For example they could add a function to place the chains, so we can all easily replace, one time for all, the old unconnected ones. -
Help with opening models in LDD
Calabar replied to Rangnarok's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I've not understood if he want the second file opens a second instance of LDD or open the second model in the already running LDD. -
how can i get the two bricks back in LDD
Calabar replied to SNIPE's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
You are in true! The piece is still in the database. That make easy to import it in new projects. So I wonder what kind of check Superkalle did with LDD manager. If there are other bricks in the same situation, we could prepare a file with all these bricks to use in new projects with LDD 4.1.8. -
That's a windscreen I'd like to see in LDD. I have a ready Space Police set, but without this piece it is too poor and awful to be posted here. Unfortunately old Space Police series make a large use of this widescreen, so I avoid to built these sets, and I'd like to see the whole series complete in this topic. So.. let's hope LDD Team will add this piece in one of the next releases.

how can i get the two bricks back in LDD
Calabar replied to SNIPE's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
You can't. The files was deleted from the palette database. It is possible that will be added again in the future, but at the moment there is no ("lawful") way to have that pieces. I think there are not other deleted bricks: Superkalle examined the palette already using his LDD Manager, and the result was that only those bricks has been removed from the database. -
Very very beautiful design. I have to say it is my favourite among recent modular building LDD moc I saw here. Two notes: - unfortunately it will be difficult to reproduce it in real bricks: it seems you used many bricks with a colour never used by TLG to print that. Could you check with LDD Manage how many are they? - With a modular building, the use of LDD groups function is almost compulsory! What do you think to improve your file using groups?
-
Oh, great work then! Do you think to share that tool? Another thing: I'm not sure about what you mean with "only 3 levels of BI steps". Can you explain me in details?

Old version of LDD allow to choose how many bricks you can add for each step. I think that was a good feature, and I'd like to see it again. How do you create and integrate the these accurate instructions?

That's true: you have to reach 10 posts to use PM's. I can't approve that post without the consent of the original builder. The update of other user's set is a legal pratice only if: - you have the consent of the original builder - the original builder is not available anymore So... reach those 10 posts (did you introduce yourself in the "Hello! My name is..." forum?) and contact the users.

@AmiPolizeiFunk I corrected your last post: there could be only one image for a single set, other images can be inserted as links. Please fix the previous post, the Death Star one, as explained above.

LDD update 4.1.8 released
Calabar replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
yes, here it works on XP Sp3 without problems... for now at least! Something other about your machine? -
Wow... great work for the first attempt! The post is a bit irregular anyway! - The image maximum size is 512x512 - You have to report highlighted name, number and theme of the set (specifying it is duplicate in the index, i.e. some one other did the same set before) - Other images can be post as a text link (no need for spoiler tag) You can read all the rules in the first post of this topic. Another thing: I read now you have used ADHO15's model. In that case, did you ask his consent?

Small LDD contest - [FINAL RESULTS]
Calabar replied to Calabar's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
[VOTE CLOSED] [Do not vote after this post] At the end, here we are! With this post, I close the voting process. A bit late to say the true, I hoped someone other will add his contribute... at least the almost forty have participated with their creation. The result of the contest will be public soon. Stay tuned on this topic. -
LDD update 4.1.8 released
Calabar replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
You are right, I didn't thought about the other preferences.ini file! But, if I'm not wrong, the guide to enable universe/extended modes tells clearly to use the file inside the user folder, and not the global one (that I think has been created for a different use). -

@PerryMakes Your gallery on BrickShelf is not public still. You should deeplink the images to allow us to see that.
