Eurobricks' 3rd LDD RCB
Calabar replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I like the last step! Finally the command center is finished, I liked it when it was started and I like it now. I was curious to see how it would be completed. And the launch center has been completed too! Perhaps only the "planet-destroying-laser turret" is a bit oversized for such a small building! I'm not sure about the choice to close the buildings or leave one side opened. It is typical of the classic space buildings, so I used this scheme for my garage, while other builders made a different choice. Perhaps for a big project like this, it is more indicated to build closed rooms, that could appear more realistic. But I saw some classic space compositions with official sets and that appear great! -

Anne's Queen Revenge
Calabar replied to ELEIRBAG95's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
There is a specific topic to request lxf files of official sets. Anyway, this specific set has been already built with LDD, and you can find it here. -
Thanks, fixed! You'll see it in the next index update. I cheched and the right theme is sculpture. I suggest to use brickset to assign themes, it is fast and well organized.

The right theme should be "Sculptures", or am I wrong?

[KEY TOPIC] Wanted bricks in LDD
Calabar replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I meant the windscreen 30372, but I notice now it is a bit bigger and different in shape . Sometimes it could be used as replacement, but not ever. -
[KEY TOPIC] Wanted bricks in LDD
Calabar replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
You are not the only one... both me and Giovanne asked for it already! The other windscreen is not so important because it can be replaced by its modern version, but the 2507 is irreplaceable. -

Hi vean, welcome on EB and in this topic. To post a new set in this topic, you have to read the rules you can find in the first page. About your post you should: - add an image (not bigger than 512x512 pixel) for each set, under set's data - provide a single lxf file for each set - check if these sets has been already done and then inform if it is a duplicate. Use an external file hosting service to host the files, such as brickshelf. Forum's attachment function is not much suitable for this kind of use.

home-made bricks?
Calabar replied to LDDtechnician's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
What do you mean with "add LU mode"? LDD support LU mode and the new Extended Mode already. About decorations, it is possible to discover some hidden decorations (look at LDD reference topic) or apply any decortion to any brick that has a "decorable" face (look here). -
home-made bricks?
Calabar replied to LDDtechnician's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
The guide worked for LDD3, don't know if it works for LDD4. Anyway, TLG asked us to avoid this kind of practice. I'm surprised the text is already here, I'll speak about that with superkalle. -

Minifig torso with all decorations!
Calabar replied to hrontos's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
As you can read, Superkalle is the moderator of this section. And his post was a moderation intervention, because you violate two rules of the forum. He did his job, in conclusion. This is not a serious problem because you are a new member, but you should simply thanks him for his explanations and not be sarcastic because he didn't answer you question. Someone other will answer your question, could be the user that started the topic. He surely knows how to do. I can tell you that the hidden decorations are really few, and you can find that in the LDD Reference topic. The decorations you can find here are simply decorations available for different items, "improperly" used with other bricks that support decorations someway. NOTE that this trick works now, but it could be locked in future versions of LDD, because every decoration is thought to work with its specific brick. -
how can i get the two bricks back in LDD
Calabar replied to SNIPE's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I remember it was Bojan Pavsic and his work allowed to insert personal decorations too. -
LDD 5, what features do YOU want?
Calabar replied to BasOne's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
oh, he mean that? I thought he was referring to the strange forum configuration I found when I came here for the first time! Anyway, the reason to concatenate consecutive posts is to avoid spamming. I'd like this function will not work for regulators and moderators, because it is a bit uncomfortable when I have to reserve posts for index purpose. But I think it is a good function for general use. A post have not to necessarily be monothematic. -

Probably you have to set "Topic Display Mode" as "Standard". Look for it in your profile (try: Your control panel > Forums > View/Posting/Email Prefs) -
Minifig torso with all decorations!
Calabar replied to hrontos's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I try to give you some answer. - Remember the aim of LDD: is is the lego tool to access "Design by Me" purchases. So... all the modes except DBM are extra for fans, expecially the extended mode, that is a sort of present for us AFOLs. - Add bricks is not so easy: every brick has to be created and tested. Every conflict and boundary issue has to be solved. Every connection has to be implemented. - Add decorations seems to be easier, but the LDD interface is not enough good to manage many decorations, so they have to modify LDD. - Last but not least, every brick added and overall every decoration added means a greater database. This can be problematic for three reasons: the software would became huge, needing more space and more time to download it. A huge software requires greater bandwidth, and the bandwidth has a cost. Manage such a big database can slow the software and increase memory request, and then reduce the number of possible users. Besides, I think the actual software structure is not good for such a big database, so they probably have to reorganize it. -
Great work but... you should resize the image! You can find all the rules of the topic in the first page.

Minifig torso with all decorations!
Calabar replied to hrontos's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Are there many decorations than the ones Aanchir reported in the LDD Reference topic? EDIT: I saw the file! He apply to the minifig torso the decorations for other bricks! I hoped in new decorations for the torso instead! Anyway, these posts will be moved to the LDD Reference topic soon. This is not the right topic for that! EDIT-2: I moved it in a topic his own. -
Welcome in the "bugged" club! You can introduce yourself to the community here. About 3D software for hight quality rendering on MacOS I can't help you. But if you content of "not so much hight" quality, you can use LDD, that has a 3D interface, and take screenshots from it (but you have to recreate your models in lxf format). Otherwise, you could install windows with bootcamp, or try powray with a wine-like application.

Ok, understood now! Simply, the the peg in the place of the axle. I've not tested it in real bricks, but it seems to me you are right. Both the half liftarm than the full size one has the groove to accept the bump of the peg, it seems. So... now I've not understood the problem hinted by AndyC. Can someone help me with a close image? PS: did you try to insert the peg manually, in order to se if there are collisions even if the connection has not been detected? EDIT: I made a try with LDD. It seems the problem is that LDD don't accept the connection of the peg with the full size liftarm if the relative positions is not at left, at right of in the centre (i.e. it don't accepted the placement in the middle of the long ping, that should be possible instead). In fact if you remove the full size liftarm placed betweeng the two half size liftarms, the peg fits without problems. It is the first post you can read in every section of the forum! It is marked as "announcement", and no, it is not an idea of mine!
