Help with headlight brick pattern

The problem with the plate with rail is that it is 2 stud long, while the model is 1 stud deep, I think. -
Attachment function of the forum is used for "temporary" files (it is a faster way, but the space limit force you to often delete files to make room for others). For all other files, use an external file hosting. Brickshelf is the most used file hosting for images and lxf files. Almost all users use it in the "Official Lego sets made in LDD" topic, for example. For more generic files, you could use file hosting services such as fileden and mediafire.

Here is the PDF. For next times, remember that a file with built instruction have to be provided, if not easily available on the web.

@moop2000 The image of your rose is too big. Remember the maximum size is 512x512. @ashir If you want, you can show all these small "consecutive" sets in a single post. That will help a bit to built the index! Besides, for such small sets, it is recommend (but not compulsory) to use smaller images.

Using LDD to reproduce particular building techniques is not a good way: LDD is a bit strict about legal/illegal connections argument. In order to "suspend" the balls, it seems he used this piece, however. He places pieces 4865 for the internal part, and pieces 2362a for the external part. PS: you should use a more meaningful title when you create a new discussion :) -
Personally, I prefer a good custom replacement. Besides in some cases missing parts causes the set to be indexed as "incomplete" (for example, if any minifig missing). Nothing prevent you to create an alternative version, however. For example you can provide a complete lxf file with custom bricks and pertinent modifies to fit that in the model as main lxf, than provide a secondary link to a "clear" model, without custom solutions.

[Software] SR 3D Builder Lego simulator
Calabar replied to xSergio74's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I'm sure he did it soon and appreciate your contribution to find the bug! Eheh I know... I'm Italian too! Did you thought about using p2p, a free hosting space or even a file hosting service for the portable version? Probably the target of the portable version would be limited, so there should not be traffic issues. However... thanks again, I'll be surely patient! Happy Easter you too!- 428 replies

[Software] SR 3D Builder Lego simulator
Calabar replied to xSergio74's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
That's true, except if you have Ctrl+c and Ctrl+v binded to specific mouse keys! So... for me it would be very useful an option to use standard copy-paste combinations! Any news about a real portable version of the application, available in a "ready to use" zip file?- 428 replies

I was thinking... as my pc is not able to manage with LDD such big files anymore, is it possible to link a bigger size screenshot of every step? -

@chiklets Very good work, perhaps the roof should be a little more... slender! About your post, you should read the thread's rules in the first page of this topic. Particularly, the image is too big and should be resized (512x512 pixel is the maximum size allowed). @Captain Becker Same issue: the images for all last three sets are irregular.

Brickshelf's galleries need even days to have public access. It would be better if you provide a direct link to the lxf file, so that it would be immediately available.

[Software] SR 3D Builder Lego simulator
Calabar replied to xSergio74's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Very good! I hope you'll provide a "ready" portable version for the next release where: - All stays inside the "SR3D" folder, including the lDraw folder, so that there is no need to re-associate it every time the drive changes. - All registry entries are written in a configuration file, the software should not leave residues on the system. - The software is ready to use, no need to have an installed version to create it. - check all system requirements (net framework and directx) before starting. About net framework, unfortunately I don't have it on my main machine, so that I can't use SR3D there. But, obviously, I don't ask you to remove net framework! Perhaps the programming tool (visual studio?) allow you to compile without net framework for a wide compatibility? (so you could provide an alternative version for those who has problems with it). Perhaps you could create a portable version with extended bricks database, obviously ready to use! EDIT: here in wikipedia I found a well made explanation about portable apps.- 428 replies

Where are all the bricks?
Calabar replied to pauldk's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I mean a software available as a zippack, that extracted works immediately without installation, and works inside its folder, without writing in the register or in any other folder or place of the system. The name "portable" is related to the use of this kind of software: usually these are placed inside a usb pen or drive and brought with yourself. Never head about portableapps.com? They try to create portable versions of various software, but often they use software and workarounds to archieve that. An application that can be natively portable is surely much better! You might get confused with the meaning of "portable" related to the portability of a software in different systems. So... that's another thing! -

I will not ask for the openGL version but... for the portable version, is there any hope? -
Where are all the bricks?
Calabar replied to pauldk's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Eheh "regulator", not moderator! SR3D is a great (italian!) software, the only things I complain is the lack of a portable version for windows and a native linux version (openGL). -
Where are all the bricks?
Calabar replied to pauldk's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Universe mode unlocks many bricks and colours, but not all bricks are available anyway. There is no solutions to this problem: you could wait for an LDD palette update (that will add new bricks, but it is possible that will remove others too), try to build sets using custom solutions instead of the missing bricks (as all builder in LDD official set topic do) or use a more flexible software, such as SR3D, with a virtually unlimited bricks database. -
