  1. That's true, and that's why for LDD5 I requested an "Istant Graphic Enhancer": a button that will make the present view in the viewport an hight quality renderized image (don't ming if it is necessary one minute for a single frame!), so we could have very beautiful screenshots! Anyway I prefer to disable AA and enable advanced graphics (if available) for screenshots. So I'm still looking for an charitable soul that will make fullHD screenshots with advanced graphics for me! Do you enable AA for OpenGL directly from the CCC? EDIT: I made a little test, and it seems the AA could be a bit undesirable with a transparent background. I think I'll try to AA the image with a good downsampling!
  2. Sorry, I don't know! In the old notebook I'm using now with LDD, I can't enable the one nor the other. Anyway advance shading is very heavy for the graphic card: 9000pcs + AA + AS could be too much for the great part of the computers.
  3. Good idea! I played that map many time, in the past. Do you think to share le lxf file of both versions when the work will be finished?
  4. I think this is simply a dummy "all-in-one" model to show the bug. The "real" model is shown some post above. It seems that the dummy model uses the same connection as the real model. I don't see any stress for the bricks, anyway!
  5. I think it depends on the way this work is exhibited. If it is clear that these are works aimed to show other users which bricks you would desire from TLG, I think it could be included in the "good faith commentary" clause. Anyway, it should be a good think to prepare a proper disclaimer.
  6. Did you read the suggestion provided in this pinned topic?
  7. I remember Sergio told that he create some personalized graphic primitives, so wine-like solutions don't work properly. I don't know if there are news about that, and if Sergio decided to replace these primitives. You could try to use the SR3D main topic, probably he will answer almost immediately there.
  8. It seems you are not the only one asking for that part: read here. It seems there is not an easy solution anyway!
  9. Oh, I "lost" this limitation! Are you sure? In the "Official LEGO Sets made in LDD" topic I saw many user inserting their creation in their first post. Anyway, in the meantime, you can introduce yourself to the community here!
  10. Forum's attachment function is not the best way to permanently share images and lxf files. I suggest you to create a brickshelf account that allow you to hotlink both images and cad files.
  11. Wow, the work with the sails is really great! I hope it will be widely adopted, there are many ship models without sails that appears as naked! PS: I sent you a private message.
  12. Not sure... which is the custom brick?
  13. That's strange... You should be able to modify your post even after I modified it. Do you retrieve an error or simply the edit button is vanished?
  14. Welcome to the Eurobricks forum. Another interesting LEGO software from Italy, I see. It seems aimed to check the chance to build something according to a parts database, that's a feature that many LDD users will surely appreciate. As your software will grow, I think many feature could be similar to those of (windows only) Superkalle's LDD Manager. Perhaps he could help with the project with ideas and suggestions. A little question. Linux version has both an rpm package (what about a .deb one?) and a tarball, while windows version has the installer only. Do you think to provide a stand alone zip version too? I would appreciate it very much!
  15. Hi supergenius1337, and welcome in this forum. Thanks for your contribution, but you need to fix some thing in your post. Your image is oversized (maximum allowed in this post is 512x512 pixel, in your case cut blank space around your image will be enough) and you should write the set's data well highlighted (look other posts as example). Note that if you don't add minifigs too (or a replacement for that) your entry will be indexed as incomplete. I suggest you to add your version of the missing minifigs even if not perfectly accurate. Beside as the same set was already inserted by another user (here) you should tag it as duplicate (well highlighted and next set's data). You can find all the rules in the first post of this topic. Another thing. The forum attachment function is not much suitable to host images and lxf file permanently, so it would be better to use a file hosting service. The most used is brickshelf, that allow you to host and hotlink both images and lxf file. Ok, it could seems there are a bunch of things to do! But that are simple things, I think easy to achieve. Thanks.
  16. manual count, obviously! Or perhaps you can use the select by shape tool to count bricks of each type (a bit long operation, if you use many different bricks). Or perhaps parse the lxf file with some kind of batch script you can easily create (could require a bit of programming skill). But probably the best way is to use Superkalle's LDD Manager! This software works on windows systems and has many other utilities.
  17. Good news! I hope they'll update the all-in-one installer soon!
  18. "pick a brick" is a service provided by LEGO in its website. Anyway, the best way to get single pieces is in most cases bricklink.
  19. Welcome to Eurobricks forum. You have to use the DBM mode (Design By Me) in order to buy your creation from LEGO. The sad news is that DBM mode will be closed on January, 2012. There are alternatives, anyway. - You could order pieces by pick a brick (but the choice is very limited, such as in DMB mode) - You can use Bricklink circuit, where many shops sell new and used LEGO bricks (note that often buy brick by brick is expensive). - You can buy LEGO sets that have the pieces you need. PS: the universe mode is not the "all pieces" mode yet. Now there is the Extended mode.
  20. You have to enable the Extended Mode. Read here. Note that the pieces available in the Extended Mode are not buyable through TLG.
  21. You can create a custom baseplate. It is not difficult, but it is a bit long work. As you can see, other builders have done this work for other sets (for example, the castle 6086). So you can base your work on it (unless someone have done it already, check for other sets with the same baseplate). Once built, you can provide the baseplate as a Custom Brick in this topic, so that other builders can use or improve it.
  22. I want a characters' gallery in the first page!
  23. You should specify the model is a duplicate. You can find the version made by Toa_Of_Justice here.
  24. Wow, super heroes has been released yet? This series seems very interesting. You should resize the image, that is too big. Remember in this topic the maximum size allowed is 512x512 pixel. Thanks ;)
  25. Oh, you are an almost-compatriot. About the passage I quoted, what do you means exactly? You made some sets but I didn't indexed that? That's because your posts was irregular or because the index has not been updated yet? Note that, although I'm the only indexer of that thread, for the last updates I received a priceless help from AndyC (that made the great part of the work creating the stats in the right shape), because I'm very in trouble this period. In order to provide a service anyway, I create in the first post a list of topics that has not been indexed yet, so that it is possible to every user to easily find that sets. Another thing. When a builder insert his/her creation in the Official Sets Thread and the post is irregular, my intervention is not aimed to scold him, but to help him to fix the problem, and that's why I list the irregularities and try to say what he need to do (so he/she have not to analyze the rules to discover what is wrong). At the same time, I expect that a builder that I already warned about, for example, the size of the preview image, will not persist with the same error in the future. I see the Official Sets Thread as a collaboration among users, indexers, staff to create a useful resource for everybody, and I think every one who want to participate should make his part.
